This place is wonderful! I stopped in today to inquire about…read morewindow treatments, purchased from Home Trends many years ago, which now require some repair. I didn't even know if they could be repaired or would have to be replaced. It was such a relief to find excellent customer service!

I cannot recommend HomeTrends based on my recent experience…read more I scheduled an in-home appointment to have 12 windows measured. No one showed up, and I was left waiting at home with no apparent notice that the appointment would not be kept. I contacted HomeTrends afterward and expressed my frustration about the missed appointment and the time I had wasted. I was initially told they would arrange for someone else to come out. Instead, the owner subsequently told me that it would be better for me to take my business to another blinds company and that they no longer wanted to work with me. That response surprised me. A missed appointment can happen. What mattered more to me was how the company handled it afterward. Rather than apologizing, taking responsibility, and trying to make things right, their solution was essentially to tell the customer to go elsewhere. There are plenty of companies selling and installing window treatments. Based on my experience, I would choose one that is more reliable, respects its customers' time, and makes customers feel that their business is valued. BTW, they did tell me if I wrote a negative review that "I was a bad person". Well, this review is only intended to give you, the consumer, an insight to my experience. I am not sure that constitutes me as being a "bad" person, but again maybe insight to how HomeTrends perceives upset customers verse working out an amendable solution.

I placed an order in August for a chandelier and 2 pendant lights. They arrived to my Naples home…read moreand one of the pendants was damaged. I promptly notified them. We wanted to get a new one sent asap so they had me purchase another one and said when the new one arrives to put the damaged one in that box and return to them. Once returned they would issue me the credit on my card. Weeks went by. I reached out and sent copy of Federal Express receipt of shipping return. It is now almost December and still no refund. You call their number and get an automated voice that doesn't allow you to speak to anyone and simply disconnects you. I emailed them again today but my guess is I will hear nothing. After this I am going to my local tv station who has a program that exposes horrible companies such as this, then to my state Attorney General to file a complaint afterwards to the BBB to file a complaint. I will not stand for being taken advantage of. HEED WARNING....DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH A COMPANY.

I was excited to move forward with Sunburst Shutters because I had heard good things about the…read morequality of their product and I wanted to support a company that manufactures its shutters in the USA. Unfortunately, my experience with the sales process and pricing was very disappointing. I received a quote that was significantly higher than expected and much higher than what others have paid for comparable installations within a few months from when I received my quote. I provided information about a friend who recently had Sunburst shutters installed for several windows at a much lower total cost, hoping the company would work with me to find a reasonable solution. I made it clear that I liked the product and was ready to purchase, but the pricing made it impossible to justify moving forward. I was also disappointed with the advertised "25% off" promotion. The way it was presented gave the impression that customers would receive 25% off their purchase, but I later learned there were significant requirements and a very high spending threshold needed to actually receive that discount. That felt misleading and was frustrating as a customer trying to understand the true cost. The quality of the shutters may be good, but the overall buying experience, lack of transparency with pricing, and limited willingness to work with a serious customer left me disappointed.

After my house was languishing on the market for a couple months, I called Janie to have her work her magic. Once the staging was complete, I got a very strong offer at the very NEXT showing after the staging was complete - I couldn't believe how good the place looked after staging. Even the realtors who walked through said "OMG - I loooooove your decorating" (I was like, "this isn't my stuff - this is the Pineapple lady - call Janie". Janie has a great eye for decorating, size, scale, color, etc... and she has a lot of patience. I can't say enough good things about her and her team - they're fast, flexible, willing to hear your ideas but also willing to say (tactfully) "Let me work my magic - I'm staging the place to sell" (and sell it did!). We had 4 skylight shades installed by King Shade & Window about a year ago. On the day of the…read moreinstall, after he left, I noticed that at least one of the blinds was screwed into drywall and nothing else. I followed up with a call and sent a picture. He got very defensive. He kept saying it was fine because he had "tugged on it" and it "seemed secure." If you know anything about construction you know that this is nonsense. The conversation went nowhere and I figured I'd wait and see how long they lasted. They stayed open and untouched all winter to let in the warm sun. When summer came around, and we started actually opening and closing the blinds, one came loose. I got back in touch and told them this, and suggested that they use drywall screws or screws long enough to reach some wood. They told me this was impossible, but that they could come back and screw the blind back into the drywall. I reached out to the manufacturer and they told me to use longer screws, or anchors. King Shade & Window ignored this, refusing to do anything but reinstall the way they had the first time. This went nowhere, and I gave up. Since those conversations, more blinds have started to come loose. They lasted 3-5 months of actual use. We were originally going to have them replace our windows. I'm very very glad that we did the blinds first. Now we have to find and pay another installer to fix their mess.

Ellen had many samples with her and she was patient while we walked through the different options in our bedroom and living room. Consultation & sales: Ellen was incredible. (I will admit…read morethat it gave me pause to read some of the other reviews about bad installation so I want to leave a review to share the positive experience I had recently). We weren't sure what we needed or what was possible and had lots of questions. She was very thorough, honest and realistic about costs and sharing what would work with our budget. She made recommendations based on what was important to us and realistic for our home/windows (never pushing us into more expensive solutions or overselling) -- and was so helpful weighing the pros/cons of treatment options for each window. She did a consultation and provided an estimate same-day. When we agreed to proceed, she came back and took additional measurements and confirmed how the hardware/treatments would be installed in each window. We felt so supported in the consultation and sales process. Installation: The installer arrived early and communicated this in advance via phone (he even called us when he had a cancellation to see if we wanted to schedule installation on an earlier day) and was generally just incredible. We've been working with a lot of contractors recently and the installer was BEYOND professional and efficient. He finished the installation early and was an absolute pleasure to have in our home (thorough and detail oriented). We are thrilled and would highly recommend Ellen and her team.
