I had spoken to several different employees on the phone about booking a makeup application for my upcoming headshots and was assured that whomever I booked with, they would be well qualified for the job and had experience working with makeup for photography. When I arrived on Saturday, it quickly became clear that wasn't the case; unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the woman whom I worked with, but I can say that she was pushy and did not listen to anything that I said, even when I clearly stated I needed a natural makeup look. She caked blush on me, used the wrong color for my eyebrows, did not blend thoroughly, powdered me so many times that I ended up looking ghostly and pale, and smudged eyeliner onto my cheeks by mistake and did not even wipe it off. After going outside into natural lighting and having the person I was with take my photo, we realized just how bad the end result was. I diplomatically explained this and was assured that I looked fine, but she took "some" blush off to appease me. I ended up having to take off the entirety of the makeup look, push my headshot appointment back an hour, and redo my makeup myself. All in all, it was a really disappointing experience from a place that I thought would give me a fantastic result. UPDATE: I spoke to the manager, Rosalie, on the phone today and had a fantastic experience. She offered me a free application at any point in the future with either herself or another manager. I felt very heard and taken care of as a consumer!
