First, since this is a JC Penny Sephora, it doesn't have access to any of your orders, purchases, or recommendations from actual Sephora. They will also not refund you with Sephora credit, but with JC Penny credit. That's just store policy, and while I wish I had known about it before I went in, it's something I can live with. The second issue I had with this location is the staff. Now this part is something that needs fixing, and I definitely do complain about. The store was devoid of any customers on 12/26. (Except 1 lady that came in to return an item during my 30 minutes there) When I walk into a Sephora, I am usually greeted by every associate working there, sometimes to a fault. (Sometimes when I just want to browse, I feel like I'm still being asked to help every two seconds) No such greetings here. In fact, I had to flag an associate for help. She was talking on her phone. She had on AirPods and maybe thought I was too stupid to notice that she was still on the phone when I asked for help. She never hung up, and continued to talk to that person, and went right on talking with whomever she was talking with after offering me some assistance. A very begrudging assistance, mind you. I really think it's unprofessional, rude and downright termination-worthy behavior in salespeople. How can they can paid to help customers, but make the customers feel bad or chastised for asking for help so you can chat with your friends during work hours?? Thankfully, the counter was manned by some other associates, and I didn't have to talk to the rude, on-the-phone girl. At the counter, though, I had to learn all about the JC Penny/Sephora thing, when they couldn't pull up my order, then after all that, I couldn't get a Sephora credit. After some 15 minutes of struggling to get a refund, I gave up, mainly because I did not ever want to come back to this location to spend some $200 without the option of going to a real Sephora. Their attitude for me deciding not to take the JC Penny credit was also very unprofessional. Never mind an apology. I felt like a 7-year-old being chastised for not knowing their store rules in advance and making them do all this work. This is a shame on the Sephora brand. I am sure they work so hard to keep their associates educated, and they are allowing places like this without the proper personal to actually represent their brand. By the way, the store is also not properly stocked, with "try" items in the makeup section all out of place as respects color options, and certain products in the wrong sections.

Today there was only 1 person at counter with very many people standing waiting to get a bed. It was just too slow and needed another employee to help get people what they need. I do believe they are hiring if any tanners are looking for extra cash and discounted tans. Last time it was the spray tan that clogged and it left me blotchy. That wouldn't have been so bad but i spent about 8 days and countless hours getting busy signals when i called, plus was blamed, then app chat was over 6 hours over time. That situation was finally handled by the manager. ( I wish i would have talked to her first because she has always provided Amazing, Profesional service and is great with understanding each client and a good disposition! Today was just too busy to deal with what i think may have been end of lunch hours last minute sessions. She should not have been alone up front and i just couldn't deal with this today!! Also, as much of a loyal customer as i am, i do have to say that most all of the beds need to be updated. Place is clean. Hand sanitizer is there, social distancing they try but often too crowded to enforce. I really do like coming here mostly

She made me feel at ease, walked me through the process/any potential questions, and -give my past experience - even broke down the different types of botox and what she'd be using for me specifically. To me, the service itself is of course important, but I also just notice and appreciate when the person providing the service just really feels trusting, and like they care. Personally, I only get units in my forehead and find it to be pretty painless (quick pokes), so I can't speak to other areas for injectables. Pleasant, relaxing, & fairly priced. The store itself is very large. It has to be, in order to house all of the products and scents that they carry. You will find pretty much anything you need to be clean and smell your best here: shower gel, hand soap, body lotion, perfume and body spray, and hand sanitizer. With so many great scents to choose from, it can be hard to make a decision on what to get sometimes. In addition to the above mentioned products, they also have a home fragrance line, which consists of candles and air fresheners. I have used the candles in the past, and really liked them. The scents last a long time, and the candle burns pretty evenly. I am a huge fan of their hand soaps, so if I have a coupon, and/or they have an awesome sale, I will stock up on them. And I always have one of their bottles of hand sanitizer in my purse.

It makes me (and I'm sure other shoppers, too) so uncomfortable. When we weren't being asked if we needed anything, we overheard an employee trying to push color on another customer who was looking for something else for her daughter. All in all, I wanted to get out ASAP. My friend purchased her things and we left. I'd only stop in again if it was absolutely necessary.
