After a short search online I decided on seeing Bella Star at Advanced Health and Sports Clinic based on numerous 5 star reviews. This 5 star review can be added to that list as well. Beyond her wonderful, kind and warm personality was an array of knowledge, skill and professionalism. She quickly deduced that I had cervical vertigo which is related to neck trauma and not the other type of vertigo, which is related to the crystals in the ears being out of position. I had recently performed working tasks which compromised the neck area and then exacerbated my neck issues with an aggressive, rapid head movement in my sleep. A 1 hour appointment ,which included a thorough historical medical assessment as well as physical manipulation of the neck area was followed up with 2 - 30 minute appointments over a 16 day period. She provided me with an email outlining a number of self help exercises and suggestions to correct the vertigo episodes, dizziness and balance issues.As a result I am now vertigo free and with the bounty of reference material provided by her well on my way to regulating it in the future. I would highly recommend her should you need help with relief and recovery from vertigo or similar skeletal issues. Furthermore the front end receptionist Alex was a very upbeat, friendly and efficient colleague of Bella's making the visit even more positive. Easy COVID friendly intake test and decent enough on-site protocols to keep patients moving through the waiting area to ease congestion with patients coming and going. As for specific COVID procedures, all physio therapists that I witnessed showed a great attention to detail, making sure all surfaces were cleaned, all weights properly sanitized and that everything was as safe as possible for the patients. As for my individual experience with my physio therapist Brendan, he was great: Super nice guy, very personable. He was extremely accommodating, even offering to do my physio outside on a day when I had a sick dog that I couldn't leave unattended. He did a great job in identifying the best treatment for my injury, as well as teaching me the necessary exercises to do at home. I'm extremely happy with the amount of mobility gained after my sessions and am very pleased with the overall experience.

At 82, I went to Capstone Physical Therapy following an accident that re-injured my left knee--the…read moresecond fall on the same knee. Honestly, I didn't have high hopes. I thought my days of bending my leg, much less kneeling, were over. I had the good fortune to work with two outstanding therapists: Mr. Marc Harrington and Ben Adelman. Despite my age, they designed exercises that were both achievable and encouraging. They never pressured me, but gently urged me to try them at least twice, preferably three times a week--and I did. To my amazement, after just a few months, I was able to touch my knee without pain. While I may never kneel on hard surfaces for lengthy periods of time like I did in my younger days, I now have full mobility and, best of all, no pain. Mark and Ben were thoughtful, committed, and truly concerned for my well-being. Should anything ever happen again, I know exactly where I'll go to get back on my feet (or up from my knees, as the case may be): Capstone Physical Therapy, at Birch Bay.
