I have had the very good fortune of having had Teryn Buna as a physio for years, both at a clinic…read moredowntown and now here @ Treloar, as I trust her and she has always left me way better off than before I walked in, regardless of the injury or malady I came in with. Just today I had a treatment for an ice fall that I had during the recent snowfall (I had booked the appointment for general follow up treatment of general aches and pain that I accumulate). When she came in to see what we were working on today, I filled her in on my fall and her first question was "Did you hit your head?" and not anything regarding muscle or ligament, as she was aware of concussions that plagued me in the past. I assured her that was the only thing I didn't hit and then we began to work on the things that I had injured. As one was a knee, she did multiple tests and bends on both knees, as to set a baseline as well as check the general stability of both. Eventually she gave me an evaluation to the actual injury and recommended that we tape it, noting that if the tape itself caused irritation that I should remove it. Immediately my knee felt so much better (after she left and I put shoes back on and walked around for a bit my knee felt 1000% better). Following that we did some back work as well and again, it feels SO much better. For anyone who sees a clinician for any length of time, developing a good rapport and trust in the treatments is a must and Teryn is the gold standard. Beyond this, she is so kind and personable and relatable. Both pre, post, and during treatment she is willing to listen to tales of your life as well as share some from hers. Today I mentioned a book that I had planned to get my Mom for Christmas but only had vaguely looked at, other than the cover. Right away she knew the author and the other books he had written and gave glowing reviews so Mom now has multiple gifts headed her way. Thank you Teryn, for being phenomenal at your job and being so kind. As for the clinic itself, it's great. Excellent facilities, friendly staff, benefits affordable. Close to the R4 bus line. Top notch.

A while ago, I visited the Kerrisdale location to get some information for my back injury and was…read moregreeted by a girl named crystal. I asked some basic questions about the scheduling and about the physiotherapists. For whatever reason, she became very impatient and did not care to respond. I guess rude receptionists are pretty common but I have never encountered someone who just flat out ignored the customer. On my way to the centre I was contemplating starting a long term program in this location but the way she represented the store convinced me otherwise. Before I left I asked to purchase an equipment and was greeted by the same response. I decided to film her. She did not even notice this as she was too busy browsing the computer. I uploaded the video on YouTube and the comment sections agree that her behavior is completely unacceptable and unusual since I was the only customer at the front desk at the time. Not saying she is a complete moron but she seemed to be unable to handle the receptionist job. All she had to do is answer my questions or refer me to an expert but she seems unable to do that without giving attitude like an impossible kindergartener. It is a shame because two people referred me to this location.

Alex Abundo has been great: very knowledgeable and very helpful. He started off with a full…read moreassessment, and listened to all I had to say about my problem (a sore knee that had kicked up decades after an injury). His diagnosis seems to have been perfect. He did some massage, and we mostly worked on teaching me simple exercises to get me back in shape for hiking. I've seen him half a dozen or more times over a period of months, each time given exercises that were targeted to where I had progressed to at that time. I just told him I felt ready to go back to hiking, and he suggested three exercises I can do for "maintenance" (my term). I would happily go to him again for help with any pain or body problem. He's very professional, pleasant, and helpful. P.S. My wife has benefited from his physical therapy before I first say him, and she recommended him to me. A different physical therapist (at a different place) had given her exercises that caused her greater pain and disability. Alex gave her a new, different diagnosis and exercises, and she soon was greatly improved.

The facility is also very nice, brand new, and conveniently located. I've been seeing Krysta, and she is so on top of things. She seems to know her stuff cold, is very easy to talk to and explains things well. She is also good at communicating with your healthcare team so your doctor is aware of what's going on. The first appointment which is the assessment was invaluable for me in getting a proper diagnosis and prognosis. Now I'm on a treatment plan and we've set some goals to reach for which is always a good strategy. Oh also, another thing that is great is that when you pay, they can directly bill your insurance company which saves you paperwork. Overall, would highly recommend coming here!

Her care truly made a difference when it mattered most.

I began physiotherapy at Physioworks with Gevorg Eginyan after my doctor referred me to a surgeon…read morefor my knee and explained that surgery wouldn't be considered unless I tried to rehabilitate it first. At that point, I was mostly going through the motions of physiotherapy and believed surgery was my only real option. Years of hockey and other sports had left me convinced that the damage to my knee was chronic and likely irreparable. I'll admit I was skeptical, as I hadn't benefited from physiotherapy in the past. Working with Gevorg completely changed my perspective. What sets Gevorg apart is how clearly he explains the biology of the body, how it responds to trauma, how chronic injuries develop, and most importantly, how healing actually happens. That understanding made a huge difference for me and helped me trust the process. Since starting treatment, my knee and overall leg strength have improved drastically. I've also seen significant improvement in long-standing back and wrist issues in just a few months. Most surprisingly, I've started running, something I've never done in my life and always hated. Yes, I've joined the cult. At this point, I don't anticipate needing surgery at all. I truly cannot say enough good things about working with Gevorg at Physioworks. I also want to mention the clerical staff at Physioworks, who have been consistently helpful and friendly.

While not a smart pattern, this has been happening for a few years now (thanks, Ageing!) So FINALLY I sucked it up and agreed with my bootcamp instructor that yes, I should go see a physio. I'd been resisting because doctors already just tell me to put it up and ice it until I feel better, so what could a physio POSSIBLY know that's different. Fool of a Took! Sean, in his pleasant, kind, and gentle manner, has given me exercises that are already strengthening and helping my weird knees after only one week. He is clear in his demonstrations and explains why each exercise will help, and even better he doesn't tell me to rest! He believes that exercising will only help me (as long as I'm smart about it) and this makes me exceedingly happy! Sean broke down every stereotype I had, and it's been awesome since then! Sure, my knees aren't fixed yet, but they feel way better after only a week!
