Alex Abundo has been great: very knowledgeable and very helpful. He started off with a full assessment, and listened to all I had to say about my problem (a sore knee that had kicked up decades after an injury). His diagnosis seems to have been perfect. He did some massage, and we mostly worked on teaching me simple exercises to get me back in shape for hiking. I've seen him half a dozen or more times over a period of months, each time given exercises that were targeted to where I had progressed to at that time. I just told him I felt ready to go back to hiking, and he suggested three exercises I can do for "maintenance" (my term). I would happily go to him again for help with any pain or body problem. He's very professional, pleasant, and helpful. P.S. My wife has benefited from his physical therapy before I first say him, and she recommended him to me. A different physical therapist (at a different place) had given her exercises that caused her greater pain and disability. Alex gave her a new, different diagnosis and exercises, and she soon was greatly improved. read more

I started coming here a little while ago for an ankle injury I sustained while skiing. I've only had good experiences here! Staff from the physios to the receptionist are all very friendly. The facility is also very nice, brand new, and conveniently located. I've been seeing Krysta, and she is so on top of things. She seems to know her stuff cold, is very easy to talk to and explains things well. She is also good at communicating with your healthcare team so your doctor is aware of what's going on. The first appointment which is the assessment was invaluable for me in getting a proper diagnosis and prognosis. Now I'm on a treatment plan and we've set some goals to reach for which is always a good strategy. Oh also, another thing that is great is that when you pay, they can directly bill your insurance company which saves you paperwork. Overall, would highly recommend coming here! read more

I've been seeing Alex for a long time. He helped prep me for my hip surgery, and of course stuck with me post-op. 6 months later, I am doing amazing thanks to him!!! He is extremely knowledgeable and watching all the other staff members, they know what they are doing. The facility is super professional, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. Their equipment is amazing, they have everything needed. They also have an app to post all your exercises in case you forget them and need instruction while doing it at home. They also have an amazing system for booking online!! Highly recommend read more

I spend close to $750 and was nowhere better off than when I started going there. The pain just moved around. This is pretty much what I got for $75 and 30-40 minute session. 1. A bit of manual manipulation (my chiropractor already does this for me) 2. Stick a bunch of needles in me (acupuncturist already does this for me) 3. come back 20 minutes later and take the needles out. 4. My appointment is done, and I'm drained $75 and never felt a bit better. I was given one exercise to do by my physiotherapist. only one. Not once did my physiotherapist put me on a daily routine. Not once did my physiotherapist ever show any skills, qualities or trades that they know anything about fitness, rehabilitation and daily routines or exercises. This is not what physiotherapy is. very disappointed. Id like to make a comment in regards to my review and the strong opinion from the front desk person that seems to think that my experience isnt accurate. I did waste $750 because they called me to verify that. After I decided to not come back here after over 2 months of treatment leading nowhere. I seeked new therapists and professinals that sorted me out and had me using my arm again withhin TWO WEEKS. With no neck and shoulder problems. I personally find it even more disturbing that someone who works the front desk can actually make a statement saying my opinion and experience and how I feel isn't accurate. That is not very empathetic or even professional. You should never discredit anyone experiencing chronic pain. You will never ever know how they feel. All i know if.. after 3-4 times of a patient coming for the same thing constantly and receiving the same treatment.. you arent doing your job. You dont want patients coming in weekly. You fix them, guide them.. and send them on their way. You don't leave them in a room and treat 3 other patients in my 30min apt that costs me $75 read more

Physio room is a great one stop shop for anyone (especially athletes) looking to tune up, rehab, or relax their broken bodies. I've been to Physio Room's mainstreet location for a few years now, but this new Oak Street location is much closer to my home. I've seen Nick, who treated me for severely sprained ankle and hip mobility issues, and Bryan, whose speciality is neck and shoulder injuries. They both are professional, courteous and knowledgeable, with a balanced approach to fixing injuries. As a (occasional) athlete I'm a strong believer that rehab and pain relief can be started at the physio but must be built on through consistent exercises and dedicated home rehab, this is where the physios at Physio Room shine as they took the time to understand my particular sports and muscle imbalances and showed me the techniques and exercises to (re)build a stronger me. Also, Mai is one of the best massage therapists in the city. Only complaint is you'll have to book her almost 2 months in advance if you're don't already have a standing appointment. read more

I've been here a few times now and it's a great new clinic in Vancouver. They actually just won the Best Physio Clinic in Vancouver in the Georgia Straight if that provides any more detail. I would go in the morning since it's usually a bit quieter in there. read more

Dear Myodetox, and any other reader, I leave 5 stars today as I'm someone who was a lazy couch potato at the previous age of 17 who suddenly embarked on a high-octane fitness journey - continuing through the past 8 years - all while undoing years of postural damage such as lower AND upper cross syndrome, multifidus/quadratus lumborum issues in the inner core, neck pains/suboccipitals, and dealing with a lack of scapular stability. Needless to say that for an aspiring athlete, dealing with all this has not been easy at all. I've been to multiple RMT's, private Physio practices, and watched hours of internet footage all to try and deal with my issues. I've spent literally thousands out of pocket to get my body back in top shape over the years. None of them ever worked, or they'd merely provide a "bandaid", if you will, for the problem at hand, and suddenly I was out $165 or more for the next couple weeks all just for that one session. Suddenly I decided to walk into Myodetox, and found that they only charge $25 per session if you're covered by MSP. That's when I met Rebecca, who not only actively listens to each and every problem I've dealt with thus far, but has made a genuine consistent effort to address, actively diagnose, and prescribe proper exercises paired with a much needed myofascial release which made me feel like I was in tip top shape every time I left the building. She even provided a charger for my phone and spent time out of her personal breaks to give me that extra time in a session. Now THATS service!! Thanks to continual visits over the spring of 2018 - those of which don't cost me an arm or a leg - I can genuinely credit Rebecca for her time and effort towards my body's recovery and now having the ability to perform at my physical best without problems at hand. Thank you so much for your time and care Rebecca, I'll 100% be back if/when needed! read more

Brand new so the place is nice and the staff are great. I'd recommend it but my experience here wasn't anything too special so I'll be trying out other places in a more convenient location for me instead. read more

Have been a long time customer of Physio Room. Their focus on proactive rehabilitation and care is what keeps me going back. All the physiotherapists that I've seen at both Oak and Main locations are very knowledgeable and professional. Not once did I leave a session without a "recipe" that outlines exercises to help strengthen areas that needed further attention. Thanks Brian and Larissa! In addition, I recently joined their "own the run" running clinic in preparation for my BMO Half. I love how Physio Room is innovating, pushing boundaries to bridge proactive care with daily routine. Keep up the good work guys! read more

In my life I have been through 5 different physiotherapy clinic/centres. I cannot stress that this physio clinic has hands-down the best customer service and compassionate/caring staff that I have encountered. Right from the genuine greeting at the front door (Janette) to my own physiotherapist (Dara Storey), you feel you have arrived to a caring place. My physio experience has been excellent with Physio Room. All concerns are addressed and any questions are thoroughly answered. I was so impressed that after a few weeks I took a few business cards so I could refer co-workers/friends. There is on-line bookings via a smartphone app, and email reminders of appointments that are helpful. All physio programs are also tracked on your e-profile so you can refer back to exercises you have been assigned easily. A great feature in our digital age. Cannot stress how impressed I am. read more

I have just finished three sessions of Physio with Ada. I have a chronic hip issue which flared up so much so that I was on crutches in our first session. Throughout each of our sessions, Ada clearly knew what she was talking about; she told me what she was thinking and ruling out during her assessments making me feel informed about my care and confident that I was being treated by an expert. Ada focused on not only getting me back to my previous level of activity but also means of managing my hip issues to prevent a flare up like this in the future. Her personable and practical approach made me feel at ease and after three sessions, I am happy to say that I don't need Physio at the moment as I am pain free and well informed on how to prevent this from happening again while still enjoying being active. Thanks so much to Ada and all at Myodetox! read more

Seeking a second opinion on my painful shoulder issue, I made an appointment with Andrew Flynn and I am more than pleased with the result. Another physio threw out a couple of serious sounding diagnoses right off the bat (including scoliosis!) which seemed a little premature. Andrew investigated the issue by asking a lot of questions and doing a thorough physical exam of my shoulder before giving me a sense of what the issue could be and how he could help. I really appreciate this style of assessment and trusted his subsequent treatment prescription: lots of rest, then some small movement exercises, then IMS and finally strength building exercises-- I am pain free and back to Dragon Boating. Can't recommend him enough! read more

I've been having an issue with my knee for quite a while and didn't think much of it until I started playing basketball again and the pain started to get worse. My wife said to just get it checked out and a few friends recommended the physio room so I decided to book an appointment with Andrew. From the very first visit, it's been nothing but a great experience. Andrew asked great questions and knows EXACTLY what to do to try get me back on the court as soon as possible. I still have a number of sessions left but I just had to share my experience with everyone. read more

Wow, great experience at this clinic! I came in with a lower back problem from playing ultimate frisbee and saw Dara. She did an assessment and gave me some needling called IMS that took all the pain away! I was able to book in right away, and the front desk was really helpful in finding a time that worked best for me. Dara gave me a treatment plan and home care exercises that I'm going to try to follow to fix this problem for the summer season! Highly recommend coming here! read more

Exceptional care on short notice! As a traveler, I needed relief from a "seized-up" back. The clinic was convenient, the staff helpful and professional, and the care exceptional. read more

I've been treated at myodetox by two physiotherapists (Tina and Dara) and they are both very skilled at manual therapy, acupuncture and IMS treatments. Before I went there I was suffering from headaches 2-3 times a week and after just a few sessions I was headache free! Six month later still doing much better. I would recommend myodetox to anyone who needs rehab, preventative treatments and even chronic pain. Thank you for everything! read more

Tried out RMT James Cabusao and he's a friendly guy, and he offers a very innovative way for massage therapy. With both my last sessions with James, I waited until the neck and lower back pain and stiffness were unbearable which also restricted my range of motion severely. Unfortunately 1 hour session each to resolve the issues weren't enough but I received significant relief and improved range of motion. What's unique about his treatment isn't just massage, you need to move and rotate various parts while he kneads out the knots and tensions, and he also adds in the education piece and preventative stretches. He tries to engage in conversations to make the session more interesting and takes your mind off the pain. He has a good memory too, he remembered what I said from the previous session 1+ month ago. The clinic is pricier than other places but it's definitely worth the value booking with RMT James. Would definitely book with him again - maybe next time I wouldn't wait until the pain is unbearable again... read more

I've been seeing Ben at the Oak Street Myodetox and it has been the best experience I've ever had with physio. The business is run efficiently, reliably and professionally and Ben has been the most helpful physio I've ever seen. He provided a thorough assessment and set realistic and measureable goals that were attainable for me. I was recommended to the office by a physician friend who was seen at Myodetox herself and I'm glad I followed up. read more

I've been to Physio Room a few times now to visit Mai for massages and to visit Andrea for physio. My experiences have been consistently excellent. I've head headaches and problems with plantar fascitis and was recommended this clinic by a friend. For physio, Andrea assessed me and figured out right away I had a rotated hip and super tight calves. She performed IMS and acupuncture and she talked me through the treatment explaining what's going on with my body and the purpose of her treatments. I was also given exercises to do at home. I never felt like I was made to make another appointment. I highly recommend visiting Andrea for physio. Mai is equally wonderful. Her massages are so therapeutic and I felt she is intent on helping me keep my body feeling good and performing well. She's helped me with my plantar fasciitis and my super tight neck and shoulders. My visits to Physio Room Oak ST have always been fantastic. The space is beautiful, clean and all the equipment is new. The people who work there are very professional and I'll continue to visit this clinic for years to come. read more

Great, friendly staff that focus on getting your back to playing form. Thanks for all your help Andrew Flynn

Definitely hands down one of the better physio clinics around. I have seen a couple of their physios for different injuries and would have no problem referring them to others. Very knowledgable and attentive. They took their time to understand my injuries and were very informative and detail with assessing them. The clinic is very nice and the staff are very friendly. What I really liked about the treatments was that there was a lot of manual manipulation and massage, unlike other places where they sometimes just stick a machine on you and leave you. Parking is convenient on the side streets and the online booking is helpful. read more
