I began physiotherapy at Physioworks with Gevorg Eginyan after my doctor referred me to a surgeon for my knee and explained that surgery wouldn't be considered unless I tried to rehabilitate it first. At that point, I was mostly going through the motions of physiotherapy and believed surgery was my only real option. Years of hockey and other sports had left me convinced that the damage to my knee was chronic and likely irreparable. I'll admit I was skeptical, as I hadn't benefited from physiotherapy in the past. Working with Gevorg completely changed my perspective. What sets Gevorg apart is how clearly he explains the biology of the body, how it responds to trauma, how chronic injuries develop, and most importantly, how healing actually happens. That understanding made a huge difference for me and helped me trust the process. Since starting treatment, my knee and overall leg strength have improved drastically. I've also seen significant improvement in long-standing back and wrist issues in just a few months. Most surprisingly, I've started running, something I've never done in my life and always hated. Yes, I've joined the cult. At this point, I don't anticipate needing surgery at all. I truly cannot say enough good things about working with Gevorg at Physioworks. Just saw Marina for a footie-related leg injury. She did rigorous diagnostics, told me exactly what was wrong. Educated me on prevention and rehab philosophies for someone my age, designed an exercise program, trained me to use it (in the gym area), and sent a follow-up training video. Marina is a runner and a swimmer and knows her stuff. A consummate pro! Great communicator and teacher. Also a kind, engaging person. HIGHLY recommend Marina, and PhysioWorks in general. read more

Sheena is a mighty force. After pursuing a couple of unsuccessful routes to resolve pain from a bulged disc, I started physio treatment with Sheena and finally saw relief. She is very dedicated to getting results, and motivates you to make the changes needed in your both your exercise homework and daily activity long term. She's firm but realistic, and I've seen great benefits from all her techniques, from exercise to manual manipulation to dry needling. Sheena also is a pleasure, very funny and a positive presence overall. The Physioworks space on 4th is clean and organized. It's easy to make online appointments. read more

Ok, so I will be frank. I did not want to write this review. Why? Because I don't really want the secrete to be out. But that's selfish, right? So, let me tell you a story.... I am accident prone. I am a skier, and motorcycle rider (actually, I should say, I 'was' a motorcycle rider until my last accident). So, basically means I get hurt a lot. It doesn't help that I am a klutz, so I mean a lot. I've seen my share of physio therapists, RMT's, etc. Some helped a bit, some were completely useless, and most made me question why I am wasting my money and time. Then I heard about Physioworks. As a last resort after a rather bad fall from skiing, I made an appointment and went in to meet Jessie. I won't say she's a miracle worker. Well, leaving that term ('miracle worker') out, I am not quite sure what else to call her. Ok, she's a miracle worker. She probably will deny that, but she is. It's not just how she fixes me up time and time again, every time I get into an accident, land badly on my skies (or rather with them flying off), or when I get hit by a moose. Yes, that actually happened. This is no walk-on-the-beach physio session though. She works you hard. You are not a passive observer, but an active participant in your therapy. All I can say is, if you want your body to heal and are willing to actively participate in healing your own body; give Physioworks a try. You won't regret it. If you are looking to be hooked on to a machine, and expect the machine to do all the work for you, this may not be for you. I am writing this review, because I thought 'Only if I knew about this place years ago, my life could've been so much better, with less pain, etc.' Not that I would've gotten into less accidents, mind you. If anything, I'd probably had more chance to get into even more accidents, as my body would've probably been more active than sitting on couch trying to recover. And they really deserve more than just 1 review on Yelp. Though they do have more reviews on Google. What other business has 5.0 out of 5.0 reviews in google? They are professional, and they take pride in their skills and knowledge. Ultimately, they are the true examples of what the this profession should be. I just hope that this review does not make their schedule so full I can't get an appointment. I know that's selfish. and I am sorry for being so selfish that it took me over 3 years (when I first went) before writing this review. read more

Highly recommend this place! They did a 1hr long 1st consultation which was thorough and super professional and have been very supportive and informative to my needs ever since. The therapists are down to earth, approachable, sympathetic and professional and seem very experienced in exercise physiology and rehabilitation. I have taken a fair amount of beating from marathon running, kick-boxing and military hiking and parachuting. In general physioworks is a decent place to go to for physiotherapy. I've been going to this place for a while and I'm generally happy after my visit. However, I've recently been going to their new RMT named Ron and I am blown away by his natural ability to really make my back feel better. I've been struggling with back issues for years which has been degenerating for the past year. I find it difficult to find an RMT that is naturally able to integrate theory into practice and that is exactly what Ron is able to do for me without even asking where my pain is, he is able to find my pain and work to heal it. Furthermore, he is kind, courteous and polite. Excellent customer service. Thank you Ron! I'd give Ron 5 stars! read more

Physioworks is the BEST! I have been to many Vancouver physical therapists in my day but none of them compare to the quality of care that I got at Physioworks. I came in for a relatively serious problem and Jessie was very knowledgeable and attentive and knew exactly what to do to alleviate my situation.Jessie works with you to help you feel better. Many physical therapy clinics seem feel like an industrial machine, with very little actual physio-patient interaction, but Physioworks is completely different. All of the physical therapists seem to genuinely care about your health and recovery. Each physical therapist spends a great deal of time with their patients in individual rooms. Plus the facility (including gym equipment) is brand new, clean and very modern. And the rest of the staff is very friendly and helpful. I have recently relocated to San Francisco and have yet to find a facility or a physical therapist that even begins to compare to Physioworks. read more

Cannot say enough good things about PhysioWorks - after seeing no improvement with 5 months of physio at another clinic I finally took a friends recommendation and went to see Rob at PhysioWorks. After doing a more thorough assessment Rob determined that my knee pain was symptomatic of a larger back/hip issue and worked with me to strengthen the appropriate muscles while also creating an exercise routine that allowed me to get back into running. Months later I've run a half marathon and am pain free while keeping up with the routine that Rob set up for me. So far so good! I've been to about 5-6 sessions so far and I am much happier with the treatment I'm receiving at this clinic than at the clinic I was previously attending. When you're injured you want the best treatment you can find and good people helping you through the process. Why my experience has been so good so far: -I get the full attention of my PT at this clinic, which makes me feel comfortable placing my confidence in my treatment-plan. -They took the time to explain what's going on with my body (a big relief to just hear out loud!!) sharing their knowledge and being supportive. -They communicate the treatment plan to me ahead of time so I know what to expect at the next session and having this sense of stability really helps me feel assured that I'm on the road to recovery and that my PT cares about my future. -They send you a follow-up email with the exercises they ask you to do so you can easily refer back to the photos if you forget anything. -I actually look forward to going to physio because it's like having my own personal ultra-knowledgable cheer-leader! -On top of all this the staff are helpful and the facilities are nice. Dealing with friendly people puts you in a good mood even if you're in pain. -Bonus points: Even when my jokes aren't funny they still laugh cuz they know I'm trying! read more

From the moment you enter PhysioWorks you notice a clean, welcoming environment! From reception onwards you are treated in a professional manner but welcomed at the same time. All of the staff care about your health and recovery and it is wonderful to benefit form the communication between all staff. Having physio and massage in the same setting, and to see the complete care wrapped around you is both wonderful and highly effective. The positive client reviews from different sources were useful. I had tried a few chiropractic treatments which helped but not with the same physio treatment results at Physioworks from Charlene. Her assessment was thorough identifying more issues than I self assessed. For Charlene it wasnt about just treating what the client/patient was complaining about, she did more than focus on the apparent trouble spots. She looks at the body"s entire alignmemt trying to find what is causing the misalignment and administering the right treatment protocol. Manipulation, IMS and prescribing daily exercises and building on those exercises after each treatmemt. Charlene's approach isnt to tell active clients to abstain from what they're doing. Moderation perhaps depending on the severity.. Three treatments in and I am feeling significantly better. The progress you make is also dependent of doing the prescribed exercises. Physiotherapy isn't a quick fix. Money and time well spent. read more
