Normally I don't like to write a reviewing but this is my body and I feel it's important for people to know. I was on vacation and woke up in pain so decided to book an appointment to get acupuncture done. I told her which part of my body was in pain (mainly my neck). She focused on my hand and feet which I know has connections to my neck but in the past when I've got acupuncture they mainly focus on the area to subside pain immediately. Which wasn't the case here. I was still in pain, she decided to do cupping on me which I also DID NOT ASK for and would have liked to know prior to, considering I'm on vacation and didn't want marks all over my neck. Once the session was over I told her I was still in pain. She did some local needling but it felt like staples were going into my head. Which I realized was part of the cupping. Honestly, I've done acupuncture numerous times and never really felt pain. This was the most painful experience of acupuncture I have ever had. I'm still in pain today, if not more..... I will have to go see someone else again today. read more

As long, it pass the test of cleanest and yes its clean and neatly organized this place. So Jeremy Nolasco is my RMT for the session. He did a wonderful job. Came out relaxed. I found out about this place through my sister. She said this is one of the better place with better RMT. My sister told me the other place she went to she came out aching and in pain where as with Jeremy, she did feel the benefit and relaxation of the muscles. Love this place. Coming here now read more

First time client with Vivien Hsiung for acupuncture. A friend of mine had raved about her on several occasions and recommended I see her for general relaxation as well as a past injury that still requires attention. I booked my appointment online with no issues, and was even able to call in and change the time the day prior. The woman I spoke to on the phone as well as the receptionist in-person were both professional and friendly. The clinic was clean and very quiet despite the busy road right out front. There is complimentary tea while you wait, and the whole place had a really great relaxing and bohemian feel to it. Vivien was absolutely amazing. She has such a calm and easy-going demeanour, but she is very knowledgeable and was able to describe what and why to me throughout the session. Vivien was very gentle, given the circumstances, and perfectly described the sensations that I should expect, along with how I would feel later that day and the following day. We had good conversation in-between all of the technical talk, and there was also some downtime to relax when she left the room. I really enjoyed my session with Vivien and I look forward to my next appointment! read more

Acupoint hit the spot. Within a few minutes of meeting Suka, the proprietor, it was obvious that she is a born healer and deeply sensitive to her patients needs. I have seen many medical professionals, and Suka has the best bedside manner by far. The rooms at Acupoint are small but comfortable, and the music and scents are soothing. The acupuncture treatment was surprisingly relaxing and it was complimented with cupping treatment and acupressure massage. As Suka worked on acupressure she noted where lines of pressure may be coming from, and how to avoid them in the future. The entire experience was both soothing and healing - a light neck pain has completely disappeared since, and lower back pain was significantly reduced right after the first visit. And by acupuncture standards, the rates were quite reasonable. I would highly recommend Acupoint for relief of muscle-related pain. read more

"Sweet mother of all things holy." Those were the words I found myself uttering after my first RMT massage with Sue. You know it's a great massage if it causes you to utter sacrilegious phrases. It's also gotta be great if you leave the place feeling slightly high from the tremendous release of endorphins. Extended health care -I could kiss you for letting me write off the cost of this experience! I was convinced that Sue was the massage therapist for me after a friend told me she was the only RMT who used enough pressure to actually fix some of her back problems. Indeed, although she may be small, her hands are strong enough to work some serious magic. She was able to get a lot of the knots out of my back, and she also spent a good amount of time working on my forearms (stupid tendinitis due to many years as a barista). I can't wait to go back for my next massage. For those who have extended health benefits -USE THEM! For those who don't, treat yourself; Sue is a far better massage therapist than anyone you will find working at a typical spa. read more

My mom and I visited Acupoint while we were visiting from the US. I am so disappointed that I don't live closer to Sarah McGuire, the acupuncturist who worked with me. She was so amazing! She was a great listener, extremely intuitive and had excellent bedside manner. Her technique was gentle and effective - I could feel the energy coursing through me! Sarah also used a really amazing software program that helps to identify your specific condition. I've never seen something like this before, but it was super cool. It seemed like a great way to measure progress over time. And she emailed me the full report when we were through. All in all, this place was outstanding and I highly recommend Sarah. I came in like a wrecking ball today, having literally sprinted several blocks after the world's most ridiculous parking fiasco, and Jenna was able to work her acupuncture magic on me in a matter of minutes. Her calm demeanor and precision in applying needles to the right areas helped clear the stress right out of my system. This is my second visit to this clinic. First time Suka treated my torn elbow tendon with acupuncture and injection therapy. She was very sweet and gentle and very knowledgeable on the inner workings of the human body and the inter connectedness of all the muscles, tendons and bones. I got treated as well as educated. And today I came in for a 90 minute massage with Crystal. She was fun to chat with while she found every knot and massaged it out of me. Her strong yet gentle hands relaxed my muscles which are tight 24/7 due to having to work in front of a computer all day. Even Lola, the resident dog was sweet. I am SO thankful for Suka and her amazing team of healers. After a really bad injury, I have made Acupoint Wellness my second home. I go there frequently for acupuncture and massage therapy, and each visit makes me feel more and more at home. Suka, Asha and Kyla have all been so wonderful and attentive to my needs during my long recovery process. They have such genuine souls, and truly care about the health and well- being of the individuals under their care. Although the place is small, it is warm, cozy and inviting. #30daysofyelp 16/30 I've been to Acupoint on two occasional to have a massage with Sue and Kyla. My first massage was with Sue and as another reviewer pointed out, she is quite liberal with the massage oil which I didn't mind. She is a soft spoken and you can tell she's had a lot of experience the way she massages you. She does seem to work with your pressure points on your back and I really liked that. My second time was with Kyla as Sue doesn't work on the weekends. Kyla is younger and she has more oomph in her hands as she massages you. She gave me a wicked neck massage that I quite enjoyed. The room is small but it's not claustrophobic. I really like the soft music they play and the diffuser they had it going. It was calm and relaxing. I even booked an appointment for my husband with Kyla after my session. They also carry natural remedies for health ailments. I plan on going back to pick some up. I really like the idea of aromatherapy and I do think it works for me. read more

This was my first experience with acupuncture. I decided to give it a try for a nagging repetive strain injury. Suka was really great. She listened intently to the symptoms I was experiencing, provided a comfortable environment, and eased me into my first treatment. The result well surpassed my expectation. The tension and discomfort I had been experiencing was vastly reduced after the first treatment. I just had my second treatment which also included some cupping. Wonderfully warm and friendly staff! The ambience is also perfectly relaxing, complete with plants, wood furniture, calming music, aromatherapy diffuser, and tea in the waiting area. My acupuncturist, Lillian Li Wei, was both knowledgeable, and attentive to my needs. She asked me all my areas of discomfort, and shaped the needle placements accordingly. I was nervous at first (needles -- eek!) but once I started talking to her and I was in treatment I was completely at ease, and left feeling more relaxed than I've felt in a while (with pillow marks from the face rest to accompany it). The treatment was almost entirely painless, and she made sure to tell me when it would pinch more (somewhere near my heel area, which quickly subsided). Not at all pleased with my experience here. 1) They charge more than everywhere else, and also ask for a tip. Which I mean... its imposed... and it shouldnt be. I dont tip my specialist, and I shouldnt feel uncomfortable not wanting to tip when the service is already 120$++... 2) Staff didnt explain to me what was happening (my first time doing acu). Nothing about "now breathe in" or "this is what this point is" or anything. Also, randomly decided to do 'cupping' on me. I didnt go in knowing this. I was already on my back, suddenly getting cupped. It left me with circular shaped bruises all along my back, which I mean, would have been okay if I had been prepared for it. Not like "SURPRISE! This is whats happening now..." 3) At the end I felt really rushed out of there, super awkward. She told me to take my time getting up, and when I did, (as I was all relaxed/light headed) she basically came in and carried my shoes out to the front area, shooing me out of the room... where I had to put my coat/jacket and shoes on, in front of other people. Got acupuncture somewhere else a couple days later and it was phenomenal. So much more clear, authentic, and everything was explained so much better. read more

Had a 1 hour massage with her in December 2012 at Acupoint and loved it. I don't normally give reviews but I have to give one for this. I think her name is Suka, she's the owner and did accupunture and cupping. She left me in the room while in session because she was assisting the front reception. They dont have a receptionist. I thought leaving me alone in the room was normal since she was doing cupping but I went to another acupuncture and the therapist never left me alone in the room. And I told the therapist about my experience with acupoint and he said that the therapist should never leave in the room since they have to observe the reaction to the person in session. How would she know the progress how the body react if she leaves the room and what if there's emergency? I thought leaving the room was normal for the therapist to do so thats why it took me awhile to post a review until I went to another therapist and it was really different and felt safe. Take note, i went there during non covid time so it was not normal for the therapist to leave the room. read more

I had never been to a RMT before. So I went in thinking I was going to get a regular massage, and was fine with that. I am a sandblaster, so my body was all kinds of ****** up. My RMT, Catherine; was a verifiable wizard. Within ten minutes she located the source of my pain and went to work. It is two days later and no pain now whatsoever. What more can I say? My acupuncture initial appointment with Vivien was a breeze! Acupuncture really takes into your health from a holistic perspective, and she really wanted to know what was bothering me. I was curious about everything that was going on (I've never done acupuncture before), and it was explained in a way that totally made sense and eased my anxiety. After acupuncture, I felt his lightness in my back that I haven't felt in years. I was calm and cheerful when I left. I am 100% going back to see her. On a side note, my massage here was not awesome. Barest of three stars. But this is not what this centre specializes in, and they got me in last minute. The rooms are just too small for massage to be done effectively- lots of bumping around and noise. But if you're coming here for acupuncture, you're in the right place! read more

Asha is a fantastic, gifted RMT. I have seen her a number of times and she has managed to help alleviate the aches, pains and soreness I've developed from sitting at a desk, hunched over a computer (writing Yelp reviews, among other things) for a number of years. The great thing about Asha is that she is not only extremely knowledgeable about the physiological aspects of massage therapy but it's also evident how committed she is to her job and to the well-being of her patients. I have not used any of the other services at Acupoint, so I can't make any other comments. I'm usually able to get an appointment fairly quickly using Acupoint's online reservation system; very handy. Fortunately for me, Asha happens to work a lot of later shifts, which is convenient after a long day at the office. read more

Massage was alright and I'd come back again based on that. But what I was really unimpressed with, as noted by other reviewers here was the tip option programmed into the machine. I'm here for an RMT and this is the first place in the city that I've found that thrusts you the machine and makes you feel awkward when a tip isn't customary on any other RMT's I've had in town. Everyone is nice enough and friendly, but the deliberate "tip me please" at the end of an RMT session is just not the norm. read more

Didn't enjoy my experience here. It was my first time getting acupuncture and I felt like there wasn't enough explanation. It was very noisy. People were constantly walking up and down the hall. The treatment was rushed. I also has cupping therapy which wasn't what I booked. I was in pain afterwards. Not enjoyable. Wouldn't recommend it for first time acupuncture. read more

I had my first acupuncture session with Vivien today. I've had acupuncture many times in the past, both cosmetic and therapeutic, but I've never had an experience as thorough as this. Vivien performed a detailed consultation about my main concerns and targeted my neck and back issues. She used a wonderful warming light that helped my muscles relax, while she strategically placed needles and performed minor manipulations.She explained why I was feeling the way I did and even provided homelier excercises. Based on the great yelp reviews, I was keen to try out RMT Sue Hartling. Today was the day. And I have to say....it will be a one time visit. First, arrived to find the little shop closed. Since they only have one person working sometimes, they lock the front. Makes sense, but had arrived early expecting I would have to fill out forms, so stood outside for 10 minutes waiting until exactly my appointment time. Finally Sue appeared, opened the shop and let me in. I had to use the bathroom, which is outside the shop... Today was a pleasant, cool, fall day but the shop was HOT. Very very stuffy and warm. I told myself to pretend I was in some exotic country but it was really uncomfortable. Sue gave me a glass of (also very warm) water. Then, the massage. She did take a detailed history. I told Sue I was used to lots of pressure, and really needed lots to work out my knots. Right away, I felt she wasnt using much effort. I asked her twice, or said " I am sure you are working really hard, but, I am really used to more pressure". She never once asked me during the treatment how it was going, to firm, to light. I think an RMT should always check in with the patient, at least once or twice. But, the worst part was the oil, the endless oil....she used so much oil, I felt crazy slick and super greasy...she just kept squishing it on. And then at the end, she got it in my hair, and she worked on my face (without asking) and got oil on my face. Afterwards, I tried to wipe as much oil off as I could on the sheet - no towel provided. I had on a new linen blouse, that will now have to go for dry clean. I think Sue is a nice, soft spoken person and if you like your massage super-greasy, this is the place for you. read more
