Really horrible experience. Their website offers services that none of their practitioners knew and when I went to my appointment they laughed at me and said they didn't offer that service. Then they left me and discussed for around 30 mins. I had to cancel my appointment and any future appointments with this clinic. This demonstrates extreme negligence on their part and lack of professionalism. It was a really bad experience. I would not recommend anyone to go to a clinic where they offer services they don't know how to do or even know it's on the list. read more

I had been looking for a place that would help slim out my face. A lot of places will offer botox to strategically structure the face and make it appear leaner by adding volume elsewhere, but that wasn't what I wanted. I have swollen salivary glands, which creates the look of a double chin, and I have inherited my parents' chipmunk cheeks and lack of jawline. The bottom half of my face is just a genetic mess. With that genetic combination, even at my thinnest, my face still makes me appear heavier than I am. I didn't want to add volume, I wanted to actually minimize it and give it shape. I wasn't looking for anything dramatic -- I just wanted my face to reflect the weight I'd lost from my body. I was literally leaving an appointment from a different clinic where they had said they couldn't help me, when I walked past the sandwich board for Yaletown Wellness promoting V-line facial threading. Melanie and her beauty advisor, Angel, are kind, knowledgeable and helpful. Melanie has had some seriously impressive training from South Korea, and I felt very safe in her hands. I had never gotten any kind of cosmetic procedure before, but after talking to them both about my exhaustive list of anxieties, I decided to go ahead and book in. I was incredibly nervous, and they did everything in their power to encourage me and ease my worries. Melanie did warn me that there wasn't anything they could do about my salivary glands (but her professional reassurance that it was not an "overweight" double chin was helpful in its own right). Desperate, I figured at least tackling the jawline as a first step would be better than nothing. So I booked my appointment, and let me tell you, if you are not used to any kind of cosmetic procedure, this "minor" one feels like a doozy. I won't lie -- v-line facial threading hurts so, so much. I was shaking from the pain by the end of the procedure. To be fair, I don't think it hurts that much for most people. Melanie was surprised that it affected me so badly. I also apparently became far more swollen, and bled more than the average person. I left the clinic far with a bigger face than when I'd come in with, but -- with noticeably more jaw definition thanks to Melanie's skillful hands. The swelling lasted a long time for me; the worst of it was gone in a few days, but it took a few weeks for all the swelling to subside. I held off on writing this review for 6 weeks so I could take more accurate "after" photos (before/after photos now attached; top is before and bottom is after). Sorry -- I was a bozo who forgot to take proper "before" photos so the photo I used is a bit grainy. Be aware that the recovery, however minimal the downtime, is not pleasant. Simple tasks feel more like chores for weeks: brushing your teeth, washing your face, eating, licking your lips, smiling, laughing, and sleeping (you have to sleep on your back, and if you're a stomach sleeper like me, you're in store for some difficult nights) are just a few things that were difficult for me for a while. It bummed me out I couldn't exercise for a while too, so make sure you can fit that into your schedule. But! I write this all not to discourage anyone from getting the procedure. I just want you to walk in aware of what to expect of the procedure and your recovery, especially if you're anxious and wary of needles like me. I'm very, very happy with my results. They are subtle, not dramatic, which was exactly what I wanted. At first, because my cheeks are so unusually large, I thought the facial threading just defined my jaw, but didn't really do anything about how big my face was. However, after a few weeks, the collagen kicked in and my skin not only looked nicer, but the fat in my face actually started to slim out as well. I'm considering going back for MIC injections for my cheeks to enhance the effect. Melanie and Angel are seriously fantastic, and they delivered what they promised. If you really have been looking for a solution to help your confidence where diet and exercise can't, I recommend going to see Melanie and Angel. It's painful, but it's worth it, and if you're going to tough it out, they are the best duo you could have on your team. read more

I started seeing Ahmadreza (Adam) a few months back and it was a game changer. I've seen many massage therapists in the past and never really felt their treatments to be very helpful. My co-worker insisted I try out Adam, and not knowing what osteopathy was and not expecting much from the treatment, I was absolutely amazed by how I felt after a half hour treatment. Adam knew exactly which muscles and ligaments to work on and many that I didn't know needed any work. The stretches were so deep and relaxing, without it being painful. I've been here twice - once for acupuncture and once for cupping. Both times with Melanie. Melanie is very detail orientated and explains what she's doing to you. I am very scared of needles, despite having done acupuncture many times, so I prefer someone who is more gentle and patient. Cupping was also an interesting, and rather relaxing, experience as Melanie is also very skilled, and applies the right amount of pressure. Overall, a great place for acupuncture. Remember to drink a lot of water afterwards because I felt quite nauseous both times after facing down 60+ minutes. read more

I was really shocked by this. It wasn't that I was reluctant to roll up my thick tights up. She didn't even bother. How can proper treatment be done if she can't really see the surface of the skin, the area, and for who knows, my tights could be dirty! I went to this place based off the yelp reviews. i went for a basic facial (with plans of hopefully coming back for other related services) and unfortunately, it wasn't as relaxing and enjoyable as i was hoping it would be. The appt started 25mins late (which is fine, i wasn't in a rush at all) but because of that, i think she felt rushed ?? Im not sure, but it felt that way in the beginning. I paid for the customized facial and let her know this was my first, but she proceeded to give me minimal info about what she was doing or using on me, and she didn't really analyze or ask questions about my skin. The message was hard and uncomfortable, which i let her know but she continued with the same pressure. Some parts were painful. I have developed a condition known as "Frozen Shoulder" after dislocating my shoulder during a climbing session in Squamish. My shoulder movement has been restricted since, and my physiotherapist was stumped on making headway in fixing my shoulder. I've been going to Hamilton Acupuncture Clinic for the past 5 years. They recently changed their name to Yaletown Wellness. It is still under the same management. Renovated the clinic last year. The clinic is quiet and in a very convenient location. They are also very accommodating. I usually called the morning of or the day before and they always manage to squeeze me in for an appt. I usually go there for acupuncture and massage treatment. I have never done acupuncture previously until I came to this clinic. I have to say, it has helped me so much. I have really tense and tight muscle especially in my upper shoulder and lower back. (From sitting way too long at work) Acupuncture release the tightness and honestly I don't even feel any needles at all. I would highly recommend this place. As someone who is into fitness and have gone through weight loss journey during my teenage years I always feel like my face has lost part of its natural collagen during the last few years. Even though I'm only in my mind 20s.I always feel like that the skin on my face especcially near my mouth and jaw line is not as tight as before,to a point my face shape became more U instead of the V shape I used to have. So after some research ,I found out about YAletown wellness center and their Beauty team. I had my partial facial thread lifting done with Melanie which mostly focused on my jaw area and the skin around of my facial contour. The result was very immediate. I do see my skin being lifted right after the procedure and it's looking better as time goes by. My skin also appears to be brighter than before due to the generation of natural collagen. The process was painful to be honest like a 5/6 out of 10 but still tolerable. There were a few times I felt like I was going to pass out but I made it through.Melanie was helping me to be mentally prepared for any upcoming pain during the process . For the recovery process , I do feel like you have to be patient and follow all the after care tips for faster recovery and optimal result. If you don't want to get a spinal injury, then don't go there. I went for a massage, as a completely healthy person, left with an injury that affects my job and my everyday life. RMT decided to do adjustments on my back, even though I didn't ask for it. After a couple weeks, pain didn't go away so I went for X-rays and my pelvis was completely misaligned. I call Yaletown wellness, and RMT said that it was just muscle pain (after 2 weeks) and that it was totally normal. Now its been 3 weeks, Ive seen other health professionals that are working on fixing what Yaletown Welness has done, but so far I still have a lot of back pain. I am a personal trainer so it affects my job a lot, I can't demonstrate any exercises without experiencing pain or workout myself. I just can't believe this happened to me, I was always extremely careful when training to avoid any injuries, but got injured by an RMT that took it upon himself to do back adjustments. Furthermore, as seen below Yale town Wellness responded to my review by creeping me on social media and claiming that the recent posts of me exercising were preformed after my RMT treatment. Which is incorrect, for my professional fitness page I record videos weeks and some times month in advance. I would not consider any further treatments at a business that did not record the adjustments they performed on my back which injured it. read more

It has been six years since I first came here. The clinic used to called Hamilton Wellness and Acupuncture but recently acquired a new name under Yaletown Wellness Centre. The location is conveniently located, just one block off the public library. The place is peaceful and comfortable with soft music at the background. Everyone here is incredibly friendly and passionate about oriental treatment as well as Chinese medicine. They usually focus on my upper/lower back which they are hurting the most. They were great in applying the right pressures to the perfect spots. Recently I began incorporating several Chinese treatments such as Tuina and Cupping, both of which work on energy pathway into the body. I walked out completely energized and its a real treat. My wife also comes here for Acupuncture and has great result. Overall, Yaletown Wellness is awesome and gave me the peace with my body that I needed. read more

I hate to write a bad review, looking at the owners response to the one stars, even going as far to call people liars and long winded responses to negative reviews. I will try to keep anonymous in case, she somehow lashes out at me. Stay far away from this place. I went for a consult for my thread lift. I felt like I was buying a car. Non stop verbal selling. After reading the reviews, I did look at the contract one must sign. I was very weary that if the lift goes south, I will be to blame. On the contract, she holds no responsibility nor, do they do any follow ups for free after the first one. I did end up going to a plastic surgeon, who did a liquid lift and was guaranteed that if they made a mistake, they would be 100% responsible and will not use my photograph for their personal use, which is what this place will do without your knowledge.
