This was perfect - one of those obvious moments in life where I'd hurt myself training and thought "hey! I've officially got pain in every quadrant of my body, maybe it's time to do something about that". Skye REALLY knows his stuff - he fixed what I went in for (sciatica - ya, I'm old) and found a handful of other issues to fix. I won't wait long to head in again for a tune up. Like many things, the key to maintaining comfort and maximum range of motion is maintenance and consistency. read more

Really horrible experience. Their website offers services that none of their practitioners knew and when I went to my appointment they laughed at me and said they didn't offer that service. Then they left me and discussed for around 30 mins. I had to cancel my appointment and any future appointments with this clinic. This demonstrates extreme negligence on their part and lack of professionalism. It was a really bad experience. I would not recommend anyone to go to a clinic where they offer services they don't know how to do or even know it's on the list. read more

Wow - went here for the first time and had perhaps the best most thorough massage ever from Sky. The place is nice and clean, and it's priced very reasonably. Consider me a regular now!! read more

So far I'm pretty happy with jaw line thread lifting and nose thread lift done by Melanie. She was very knowledgeable, passionate and professional I first went into the clinic wanting to get my cheeks and jaws lifted, but I was hesitant since I couldn't really visualize the result in my head. So Melanie suggested to do jaw lifting first and if I like the result then I can do cheek lifting afterwards. I'm generally the person that have lots of questions but Melanie was very patient and honest with answering all my questions. I even asked her about her own thread lifting experience, training and discomforts during our consultation, and she was more than happy to share her honest opinions with me. It made me feel even more at ease with the process as I can tell that she is very passionate in what she does from just how her eyes light up and get really excited about Thread Lifting. I especially love the part that she goes to Korea 2 times in a year to extend and maintain her beauty training with current trends. After both sides of my jaw were done, she showed me the mirror one more time and asked if I wanted more to be lifted. I can feel that Melanie wants to make sure l I was happy with the result (even though there's no additional costs for add more, I was pretty happy about the result when she show me the mirror so I didn't feel like it's necessary to add more). I can see the results immediately after the treatment even with mild swelling! It has been 6months now, and I still get complimented on my define jaw line and nose. I love it! The nose lift definately made my face more proportional. I also feel like my smile line is less noticeable after the jaw lifting. I don't think I'll need anymore cheek lifting in the future! Thank you Melanie for your wonderful work! Guys. Take care of yourself when u can read more

It was wonderful experience !!:)!! I had Acupuncture with Melanie and massage with Songyi Kim !! First . I am very afraid of needles. So I asked to Melanie about pain, bleeding and infection. Thank you very much for your kind smile and answering with a smile every time, despite several questions. It did not hurt at all, she made me more comfortable. And i had massage with songyi Kim She has a tremendous power in her little body. I felt the tension of the muscles slowly releasing. Thank you so much !!!:)!!! I want to come often !!! read more

I had been looking for a place that would help slim out my face. A lot of places will offer botox to strategically structure the face and make it appear leaner by adding volume elsewhere, but that wasn't what I wanted. I have swollen salivary glands, which creates the look of a double chin, and I have inherited my parents' chipmunk cheeks and lack of jawline. The bottom half of my face is just a genetic mess. With that genetic combination, even at my thinnest, my face still makes me appear heavier than I am. I didn't want to add volume, I wanted to actually minimize it and give it shape. I wasn't looking for anything dramatic -- I just wanted my face to reflect the weight I'd lost from my body. I was literally leaving an appointment from a different clinic where they had said they couldn't help me, when I walked past the sandwich board for Yaletown Wellness promoting V-line facial threading. Melanie and her beauty advisor, Angel, are kind, knowledgeable and helpful. Melanie has had some seriously impressive training from South Korea, and I felt very safe in her hands. I had never gotten any kind of cosmetic procedure before, but after talking to them both about my exhaustive list of anxieties, I decided to go ahead and book in. I was incredibly nervous, and they did everything in their power to encourage me and ease my worries. Melanie did warn me that there wasn't anything they could do about my salivary glands (but her professional reassurance that it was not an "overweight" double chin was helpful in its own right). Desperate, I figured at least tackling the jawline as a first step would be better than nothing. So I booked my appointment, and let me tell you, if you are not used to any kind of cosmetic procedure, this "minor" one feels like a doozy. I won't lie -- v-line facial threading hurts so, so much. I was shaking from the pain by the end of the procedure. To be fair, I don't think it hurts that much for most people. Melanie was surprised that it affected me so badly. I also apparently became far more swollen, and bled more than the average person. I left the clinic far with a bigger face than when I'd come in with, but -- with noticeably more jaw definition thanks to Melanie's skillful hands. The swelling lasted a long time for me; the worst of it was gone in a few days, but it took a few weeks for all the swelling to subside. I held off on writing this review for 6 weeks so I could take more accurate "after" photos (before/after photos now attached; top is before and bottom is after). Sorry -- I was a bozo who forgot to take proper "before" photos so the photo I used is a bit grainy. Be aware that the recovery, however minimal the downtime, is not pleasant. Simple tasks feel more like chores for weeks: brushing your teeth, washing your face, eating, licking your lips, smiling, laughing, and sleeping (you have to sleep on your back, and if you're a stomach sleeper like me, you're in store for some difficult nights) are just a few things that were difficult for me for a while. It bummed me out I couldn't exercise for a while too, so make sure you can fit that into your schedule. But! I write this all not to discourage anyone from getting the procedure. I just want you to walk in aware of what to expect of the procedure and your recovery, especially if you're anxious and wary of needles like me. I'm very, very happy with my results. They are subtle, not dramatic, which was exactly what I wanted. At first, because my cheeks are so unusually large, I thought the facial threading just defined my jaw, but didn't really do anything about how big my face was. However, after a few weeks, the collagen kicked in and my skin not only looked nicer, but the fat in my face actually started to slim out as well. I'm considering going back for MIC injections for my cheeks to enhance the effect. Melanie and Angel are seriously fantastic, and they delivered what they promised. If you really have been looking for a solution to help your confidence where diet and exercise can't, I recommend going to see Melanie and Angel. It's painful, but it's worth it, and if you're going to tough it out, they are the best duo you could have on your team. read more

First off, I was not told that it was about photos being published. My photos had my name on them. The only ones that did. I work in a very public and volatile environment and you have made my confidentiality at risk. Those photos were photoshopped. I would not have consented it, I was not told they would be on your Website, until I wrote this horrific review. I am not going to argue with you, It shows me that you are someone who seeks revenge. The photos were not emailed to me,although you went on the computer in your office before I left. You put them on your site the day of the review. 5 days later. This displays how unprofessional you are. Consent or not, (which I know, I did not agree to) My name and photos need to be taken off. Please no more long winded excuses. read more

I've been here many times for acupuncture. Melanie is amaaazing and knows exactly what she's doing. She's easy to trust, and super friendly and helpful. I've been here twice - once for acupuncture and once for cupping. Both times with Melanie. Melanie is very detail orientated and explains what she's doing to you. I am very scared of needles, despite having done acupuncture many times, so I prefer someone who is more gentle and patient. Cupping was also an interesting, and rather relaxing, experience as Melanie is also very skilled, and applies the right amount of pressure. Overall, a great place for acupuncture. Remember to drink a lot of water afterwards because I felt quite nauseous both times after facing down 60+ minutes. read more

I started seeing Ahmadreza (Adam) a few months back and it was a game changer. I've seen many massage therapists in the past and never really felt their treatments to be very helpful. My co-worker insisted I try out Adam, and not knowing what osteopathy was and not expecting much from the treatment, I was absolutely amazed by how I felt after a half hour treatment. Adam knew exactly which muscles and ligaments to work on and many that I didn't know needed any work. The stretches were so deep and relaxing, without it being painful. Honestly, I left Yaletown Wellness feeling so much lighter and more relaxed, and have been seeing him since. My advice is to try just once. read more

I really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, I wont be returning. Pros - really nice clinic, have real live birds in waiting room, there's also tea, water and chocolate available. - Clean and relaxing environment - nice audio system setup - heat lamp and heated bed is really nice for those who tend to be cold - Melanie was great with massage Cons - acupuncture was done through clothes. I was really shocked by this. It wasn't that I was reluctant to roll up my thick tights up. She didn't even bother. How can proper treatment be done if she can't really see the surface of the skin, the area, and for who knows, my tights could be dirty! I asked this to others, and even my RMT, and no one had ever heard of this before. For this reason, I won't be returning. - Noise from outside the building and within the clinic is easily heard as if walls are made of cardboard (more of a North American problem than just this clinic, lol). read more

Beside having an old back injury as well as a sedentary office job, I am very prone to back aches and pains. For more than a year, I have since regularly seeing Melanie and her wonderful team of healthcare professionals to alleviate these physical ailments and boost overall energy levels. They are warm, friendly and mostly importantly, ever so effective in managing my issues. Melanie truly cares for her patients, and her sessions of acupuncture and cupping and improved my health condition. If you are new to these alternative treatments, fear not. She understands and will make it as comfortable and easy to ease you into it. It is always a joy to seek treatment from them, and I look forward to my next one. Thank you Melanie and team. read more

I went to this place based off the yelp reviews. i went for a basic facial (with plans of hopefully coming back for other related services) and unfortunately, it wasn't as relaxing and enjoyable as i was hoping it would be. The appt started 25mins late (which is fine, i wasn't in a rush at all) but because of that, i think she felt rushed ?? Im not sure, but it felt that way in the beginning. I paid for the customized facial and let her know this was my first, but she proceeded to give me minimal info about what she was doing or using on me, and she didn't really analyze or ask questions about my skin. The message was hard and uncomfortable, which i let her know but she continued with the same pressure. Some parts were painful. If your looking for a basic relaxing facial, i wouldn't recommend. read more

I went to see Melanie for Accupuncture and massage after I had my baby in desperate need of working through some tight and achy muscles. Needless to say she was wonderful! I got the Instant Stress Relief Package. I was a good value since you get both massage and acupuncture. Melanie is a great acupuncturist since she takes the time to understand your issue and explains the acupuncture points she is treating along the way. I highly recommend Yaletown Wellness Center. If you are considering doing acupuncture, I'd love to share how it has significantly improved my life. Before getting any treatment, I spent over a year suffering from daily heartburn or upset stomach, weekly insomnia, and severe menstrual cramps. It took many sessions, but all problems are now gone. I occasionally need to return to get my digestion back in order. It's amazing what these little needles can do! read more

I've been going to Hamilton Acupuncture Clinic for the past 5 years. They recently changed their name to Yaletown Wellness. It is still under the same management. Renovated the clinic last year. The clinic is quiet and in a very convenient location. They are also very accommodating. I usually called the morning of or the day before and they always manage to squeeze me in for an appt. I usually go there for acupuncture and massage treatment. I have never done acupuncture previously until I came to this clinic. I have to say, it has helped me so much. I have really tense and tight muscle especially in my upper shoulder and lower back. (From sitting way too long at work) Acupuncture release the tightness and honestly I don't even feel any needles at all. I would highly recommend this place. I usually asked for either Melanie or James. They are fluent in Korean and Mandarin. read more

I have developed a condition known as "Frozen Shoulder" after dislocating my shoulder during a climbing session in Squamish. My shoulder movement has been restricted since, and my physiotherapist was stumped on making headway in fixing my shoulder. Melanie and James have performed several sessions of cupping and massage therapy on me and my movement has been improving steadily. As someone who is into fitness and have gone through weight loss journey during my teenage years I always feel like my face has lost part of its natural collagen during the last few years. Even though I'm only in my mind 20s.I always feel like that the skin on my face especcially near my mouth and jaw line is not as tight as before,to a point my face shape became more U instead of the V shape I used to have. So after some research ,I found out about YAletown wellness center and their Beauty team. I had my partial facial thread lifting done with Melanie which mostly focused on my jaw area and the skin around of my facial contour. The result was very immediate. I do see my skin being lifted right after the procedure and it's looking better as time goes by. My skin also appears to be brighter than before due to the generation of natural collagen. The process was painful to be honest like a 5/6 out of 10 but still tolerable. There were a few times I felt like I was going to pass out but I made it through.Melanie was helping me to be mentally prepared for any upcoming pain during the process . For the recovery process , I do feel like you have to be patient and follow all the after care tips for faster recovery and optimal result. All in all I'm glad I found out about YAletown wellness center and had the procedure done there. I m planning on going back for more services that they offer in the future. read more

If you don't want to get a spinal injury, then don't go there. I went for a massage, as a completely healthy person, left with an injury that affects my job and my everyday life. RMT decided to do adjustments on my back, even though I didn't ask for it. After a couple weeks, pain didn't go away so I went for X-rays and my pelvis was completely misaligned. I call Yaletown wellness, and RMT said that it was just muscle pain (after 2 weeks) and that it was totally normal. Now its been 3 weeks, Ive seen other health professionals that are working on fixing what Yaletown Welness has done, but so far I still have a lot of back pain. I am a personal trainer so it affects my job a lot, I can't demonstrate any exercises without experiencing pain or workout myself. I just can't believe this happened to me, I was always extremely careful when training to avoid any injuries, but got injured by an RMT that took it upon himself to do back adjustments. Furthermore, as seen below Yale town Wellness responded to my review by creeping me on social media and claiming that the recent posts of me exercising were preformed after my RMT treatment. Which is incorrect, for my professional fitness page I record videos weeks and some times month in advance. I would not consider any further treatments at a business that did not record the adjustments they performed on my back which injured it. read more

It has been six years since I first came here. The clinic used to called Hamilton Wellness and Acupuncture but recently acquired a new name under Yaletown Wellness Centre. The location is conveniently located, just one block off the public library. The place is peaceful and comfortable with soft music at the background. Everyone here is incredibly friendly and passionate about oriental treatment as well as Chinese medicine. They usually focus on my upper/lower back which they are hurting the most. They were great in applying the right pressures to the perfect spots. Recently I began incorporating several Chinese treatments such as Tuina and Cupping, both of which work on energy pathway into the body. I walked out completely energized and its a real treat. My wife also comes here for Acupuncture and has great result. Overall, Yaletown Wellness is awesome and gave me the peace with my body that I needed. read more

I hate to write a bad review, looking at the owners response to the one stars, even going as far to call people liars and long winded responses to negative reviews. I will try to keep anonymous in case, she somehow lashes out at me. Stay far away from this place. I went for a consult for my thread lift. I felt like I was buying a car. Non stop verbal selling. After reading the reviews, I did look at the contract one must sign. I was very weary that if the lift goes south, I will be to blame. On the contract, she holds no responsibility nor, do they do any follow ups for free after the first one. I did end up going to a plastic surgeon, who did a liquid lift and was guaranteed that if they made a mistake, they would be 100% responsible and will not use my photograph for their personal use, which is what this place will do without your knowledge. Also, judging by most photos, everyone is 20 on this site who have had a thread lift. No money back guarantee if she messes up. read more
