Exactly one month ago, I went in to Salinas Auto Sales and made a purchase of this 2008 Chevy Tahoe w/156,800 miles. Mando was amazing! I am 31 yrs old & I never had the opportunity to purchase a new-used vehicle. My last vehicle was 95' Ford F-150 that I had for 8 yrs. It was time for an upgrade that was within my means. I will say that my credit score was shitty. & Mando was able to insure me that with $3,000 down payment he would be able to get me approved with a $452 payment. I knew what I was getting into with not having a co-signer. The same day when I took it home, I noticed a chip in the windshield on the passenger side and I also noticed that the breaks were squeeking. So I called Mando and told him the issue. He reassured me that he would discuss it with the owner of the dealership and make sure I was taken care of. Today marks exactly one month and I just picked up my Tahoe from them after dropping off last week to do repairs to the breaks and windshield. Come to find out that there was a bad sensor in which they also replaced. I also want share that they did provide me with a loaner vehicle while the were making repairs to my Tahoe. I am extremely disappointed with my sister's recent purchase from Salinas Auto Sales and would strongly advise others to proceed with caution. Within the first five (5) days of her taking possession of the vehicle, multiple material issues arose, including a non-functioning blinker and several dashboard warning lights illuminating. These defects raise serious concerns about the condition of the vehicle at the time of sale and whether it was properly inspected or disclosed. The vehicle was also sold to her at a price significantly above market value, particularly given its high milage and the immediate mechanical concerns. When she contacted Salinas Auto Sales, she was initially told to bring in the vehicle in for a "recall". After independently verifying her VIN, there was no recall associated with the vehicle. She was then given a different explanation-that the issue was related to an out-of-state title transfer-which is inconsistent with the vehicles recent California registration history (2025). At this point, she asked what the options were for all these concerns to be addressed. In addition to these concerns, there were discrepancies in the sales documentation. Her trade-in was not initially reflected on the contract, and the purchase of the warranty was not properly documented at the time of signing. I had to tell her to go back and have the contract revised and resigned to be valid. I also told her to get a copy of her warranty documents which they originally did not present to her. These omissions are significant and should have been clearly and accurately disclosed. When she attempted to ask reasonable follow-up questions and seek clarification, the owner became rude and dismissive. She also experienced comments that she perceived as degrading and inappropriate, including statements implying that she was only sold the vehicle because of who she was accompanied by at the time of purchase. This behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable. Overall, she did not experience transparency, accuracy, or a good-faith effort to resolve legitimate concerns after the sale. Based on her experience, she questions the dealerships sales practice, documentation accuracy and customer service. I strongly encourage prospective buyers to independently verify vehicle condition, pricing, VIN history, and all contract terms before completing a purchase with them. As a result, we are currently reviewing her consumer protection rights related to this transaction and will be filing a formal complaint to the California DMV Investigations unit. read more

Back window stopped rolling down, my Bluetooth would short out etc etc my sister was sold a car here (she was by herself) they took advantage of her and her money and sold her a lemon! When she brought the car to show me my fiancé and I immediately heard something wrong with the engine. She was young and just happy she didn't know better we had to share to social media how bad of crooks they were and once they seen the video getting attention they asked for it to be removed and they would cancel the deal. Here is an update to my previous review. I was driving the car and it literally CAUGHT ON FIRE with my two small children in the back!!!!!! Luckily somebody was able to extinguish the fire. It was a very traumatizing and scary moment. Even after the fire of course the engine light goes on because of a Cadillac converter issue which by state law Has to be fixed by the dealership. I called the dealership as I wasn't too worried because I purchased a warranty and they told me I did not purchase a warrantee. They treated me as I was incompetent and did not know anything about warranties and cars. Do not believe anything that Ali and Armando ssayfrom Salinas auto sales as they are scammers . They will scam you and leave you with a lemon car and a headache. I highly do not recommend this dealership. read more

They are known for working with the customer here. No credit? Bad credit? No problem. Got a car to trade? Or a large down payment? Even better. I put down a couple thousand down when i got my income taxes, as a down payment and left with a Cadillac Escalade. I couldn't be more happy. And my monthly payments are only $391 a month. These guys are dishonest, they put on a pretty face to sell cars but once they sell you the car they are completely different. I bought a car from them and they told me that they would fix a couple things on it once I bought it, they never fixed anything after reminding them what they had told me. Most of the employees are being payed under the table to avoid taxes and this dealership is a joke please save yourself from buying a lemon car and try looking someplace else. read more

Here is an update from my old review. My girlfriend and my two small children were driving the car when it CAUGHT ON FIRE! They are okay thank god . Besides the kids being scared and my girlfriend being traumatized I wasn't too worried because I purchased a two year warranty with the vehicle. This is for a Ford fusion 2015! this car is not that old and should not be catching on fire. No car should be catching on fire that easily! When I called the dealership they played dumb and said they could not find the warranty. I should not have to be scouring my file cabinets and house to look for a warranty that they have a copy of! My car payment reflects the warranty that I purchased as well. I know the difference between gap insurance and a warranty and I made sure as a smart driver to purchase both. Numerous times after calling them they stated they would call me back once they found it but I never received a callback weeks later. They are ghosting me and not doing anything within their power to fix the issue. Do not go here unless you want to be given a useless car and a headache. read more

Horrible place to go to. They promise 2,000 down payment but keep asking if you can go higher. I got a 2005 chevy duramax from them and they took too long to get me approved. When I asked for my down payment back ($1500) the sales man said I couldn't get it back. I took the truck back after it broke down and they switched my truck to a 2008 Tacoma which had a misfire and had the check engine on. The sales man said I have no choice after I asked for my money back AGAIN! So I took the truck back and walked away. These guys are rip offs. Every time I went to their dealership in gilroy people kept dropping off their cars because they are junk!! Avoid these guys, they are up to no good. I filed a report with the DMV investigations and better business bureau!! They over price their cars and it doesn't bother them one bit when they rip off their customers... after hearing "I'm trying to get you approved", from them for months, I got a brand new car at a legit dealership with in an hour! Avoid mom and pop dealerships especially this one. I will keep reposting this review if they delete it. They don't deserve one star! They deserve 0..
