This place is great for someone looking for a fully customizable wrap or salad. They have a good variety of veggies and other additions that can be added to your dish. I would suggest the wraps, because the cool cucumber wrap is pretty tasty and oddly refreshing. Also, everyone needs to try the raspberry lemonade. That stuff is good. If you happen to be in the area, rest assured that this place will end your hunger in a healthy way. And you can feel better about eating so much of their awesome food because it's salad. I am a frequent patron of Salatas around Houston and never had any issues, but this one by far is the skimpiest and the worst customer service I have seen in awhile in the restaurant business. I got the large salad bowl, added extra 2 small quarters of heart of artichokes and they charged me two servings for it (1$ per small quarter of artichoke heart) I can barely taste the salad dressing since so few was added. Also got two proteins (chicken and crab meat) for a large there were maybe 3 small pieces each in my large bowl. I wanted my salad to-go, but the lady didn't hear me and served it to me in a stainless steel bowl. So when I asked for a to-go box, the lady behind the counter rolled her eyes and mumbled something to the manager (who happened to be at the cashiers at the time) in A foreign language, and the manager then insisted he wouldn't give me the regular to-go box instead directed me to go get the smaller desert box. I pulled teeth to get him get us a regular size one. There were also 5 other people in my party whom I paid for at the cashiers. As I was paying I asked for forks & spoons. The manager only gave me 3 spoons and again looked at me with disgust like we were trying to steal from him. We didn't realize that we didn't have enough utensils until we were walking away (the manager was very dismissive from the get-go, didn't listen to our needs and just moved us along). So, we had to go back twice to get the right amount of utensils. He even said to me the last time I went back, with disgust in his tone "what, still not enough?" Mind you we only took the right amount of spoons and forks, DID NOT take any extras. I paid over $55 for salads and I am in awe at this point with the staff's attitude and judgement. They made it clear they don't care about your business, bc it's located in a higher traffic area and there are always office staff/shoppers/tourists eating there for convenience. As far as salads go it was fine but the service from this older lady working there was an abomination. She eyed guests as they waited and slowly "restocked" the salad bar while the line built up. I am so upset because every time I visit this salata I get the same thing. I will NO LONGER come to this location because they are SO STINGY on everything especially the protein. The manager is the worst. Don't come to this location if you can visit another one. They literally counted my shrimp and only gave me five when the portion size said one scoop. Why are you guys doing this to your customers? I am honestly going to call corporate on them if this is possible because this is not the first or second time this had happened at this location. My sisters and I came here for lunch. The line was pretty long which is understandable for the lunch rush. But the servers were very uneducated about the products/ingredients offered. They didn't understand what we went when we wanted to sample the dressings. Because of the communication gap, all of our salads got mixed up and out of order. The manger was very unhelpful. He was just rushing to get us out of line. When my sister tasted her salad and didn't like it I asked if we could remake the salad. The manger was rude and said 'this isn't a buffet.' Oredered my salads online for my wife and I tonight and when we arrived to the practically empty restaurant about 5 minutes after the pickup time they gave us, the salads were not ready. The orders slip was still on the feeder and the worker says "oh, let me put those together for you"..... What is the purpose of ordering ahead??? Tried it for the 1st time. I was really impressed with the broad selection. This specific location has horrible parking & I refused to pay meter parking just to grab my food and leave. I called them & asked if they could bring it out to me & they agreed! My food was brought to my vehicle with a smile on his face. I will definitely be returning here! In the past I have really enjoyed eating at Salata, however, my husband and I just had a late lunch there and we both agreed it would be our last visit. The service was terrible, the women filling out bowls were very eager to push us quickly down the line even though there was no one behind us. I felt I actually needed to apologize because she wanted me to move down but I was still picking my veggies- and they really wanted to only give about a tablespoon or so of each of those unless you obnoxiously ask for a little more over and over. Then we get to the "protein", the portions are small, I opted for 1/2 seafood & 1/2 chicken (but of course I paid full seafood price) but the frustrating part was that 1/2 of my 1/2 scoop stayed on the spoon! My husband ended up paying additional for more protein because the original portion was so chintzy. I'd ordered oil and vinegar on the side but when I tasted my husbands vinaigrette and loved it, I tried to get 1 on the side, only to be told it would be a $1 additional charge. In my opinion when you pay over $26 for 2 salads, no drinks...salad dressing should be included--as much as I want! It felt very stingy, as if the staff got bonuses on saving food. We will not return, I can think of many other places to buy a great salad who will actually put the customer first. Very disappointing, especially when I've introduced several friends to Salata in the past couple of years. Even though I personally will never return, I would suggest that the owners of Salata use a scale when it comes to the protein portion, so customers don't have to feel cheated and the working staff won't have to worry that their manager thinks they're giving away too much. read more

I am doing the "Whole30" thing, a 30 day Paleo cleanse, and Salata seemed like a perfect place for a lunch date. I was impressed with the quantity of choices that were raw or all natural. Most of the staff did not know the ingredients to items, but one gentleman who worked there was able to lead me to all of the fresh and raw ingredients. My salad seemed to have the normal vegetables, but the combination of them all made for a really excellent salad. I was also happy that they had olive oil and vinegar to top my salad, since I can't do dressings. Salata is a great place for a very healthy, clean meal. Just ask if you're not sure what hidden ingredients might be in your selections. I loved the outdoor seating and that you can get your own refills on your water or beverage. I'll be back! read more

The first guy filled my large salad bowl only 1/4 way and when I got to the end the manager asked the employees to top it off. Just wanted to leave a review for their horrible service. It seems like the management needs to review this particular location. The employees in this particular location are lazy. They lock the doors way before closing time and avoid eye contact since they do not want to offer service. When they opened the door, 15 min before closing time, they gave it to me in Togo when I planned on dinning in. That is rude. Even when I called on New Years, the employee told me the store was closing two hours earlier then the time written on the door. I've been to many salad places and Salata disappointed me. They barely give you anything as far as toppings are concerned and it's pretty expensive considering you can go to Zoës Kitchen next door and get a salad that tastes significantly better for half the price and the workers at Zoës are much friendlier, the salad didn't taste like a $15 salad as well. Love the idea of a salad bar with TONS of options! The possibilities are seriously endless and there is definitely something for everyone. I've been here twice and the food is always fresh. They always overload the containers (I've been getting it to-go) so one regular salad usually lasts me 3 meals. Mind you, I'm incredibly satisfied after these 3 meals. It is kind of pricey for a salad, but I don't know about you, I would rather pay a bit more and get quality (fresh) ingredients that possess an insane amount of micronutrients. My personal favorite dressing is the spicy chipotle ranch and I love to pair that with their chipotle chicken. It's got the perfect kick to it. Why 4 stars? It's the service, guys. Most of the workers there make it pretty obvious that they don't want to be there. This is based on their body language and lack of customer service skills. During one of our visits, an employee there (I didn't catch her name, but I know it starts with an F) wasn't paying attention to my husband's order and threw in tomatoes when he asked for carrots. When it came to me, she almost threw in alfalfa sprouts when I asked for cilantro. Either she was really out of it, or can't differentiate between the vegetables. During that same visit, us (and a couple of other people) walked in 30 minutes before closing to find them already packing up. What? They seemed peeved to see people walking in. I get that it's a Sunday and you want to go home...but if you're supposed to be on the clock till closing, then no need to get upset when customers walk in when the store is OPEN. Seems like a lot of other Yelpers are having an issue with the customer service here so if you are reading this and you work there, something needs to be done before you start losing business! read more

The manager/owner here needs a new attitude. The first time my friend and I went he was OK but not overwhelmingly friendly but it just keeps getting worse. They have a shortage of lettuce too. I just want to encourage him to smile and not snap at his customers because he almost got a tongue lashing today. A make-your-own-salad (or wrap) restaurant offering ultra-fresh and tasty produce and ingredients. Boasting as the "Next Generation Salad Bar," Salata offers one of the best salad bars in town. After having lunch here while working in Sugar Land's Town Center, my hubby wanted to take me to Salata when we were in the mood for a light and healthy dinner. I must say that I was a little reluctant to dine here, especially after hearing mediocre reviews of the Salata in the Med Center, but I'm so glad now that I gave it a try! The restaurant's concept is kind of like Chipotles/Freebirds: choose whether you want to have a salad or wrap ($8 base price), tell the Salata rep what you want to include in your salad among the 30+ ingredients they offer (you pretty much choose whatever you want to fill up their 10" stainless steel mixing bowl), top it off with one of their many dressings, include a few add-ons, and start salivating while you receive your deliciously healthy meal. Among the many ingredients they offer, there are 4 salad bases (Salata mix, Caesar mix, Spring mix, and Spinach), plenty of fresh veggies (from alfalfa and radishes to sugar snaps and olives), a selection of fruits and nuts (strawberries, grapes, almonds, pumpkin seeds, etc.), some optional protein ($2 for chicken (lots of flavors to choose from - buffalo and chipotle are winners) and $2/$3 for seafood like crab or shrimp), and lots of delicious dressings (everything from Caesar and Lemon Vinaigrette, to Ginger Lime dressing). BUT the best part is that you get to sample anything and everything they have there before you include it into your meal! Adding avocados is $1 more, bacon is FREE, and a small slice of toasted bread in included for free as well. All of this is jammed pack into your salad bowl or wrap, and it's super satisfying and filling! They also offer some soups, which I hope to try next time. For two salads with chicken and one drink (try the peach lemonade), our meal came out to be $22, which is a little pricey, but we didn't feel guilty for being stuffed with all that healthy goodness. They have a wrap option well as kids menu option. Staff and service was friendly and quick. The space is clean and bright. They have gluten free and Vegan options for dressing which is a blessing! I try very hard not to frequent this location. Not because the food isn't good but because they are extremely stingy on everything. It's like they literally count how many pieces of chicken you are going to get. You have to repeat your self each selection "a little more please". The manager in the black shirt prevents them from doing a full scoop and one day he wasn't there the employees were all of a sudden filling your salad with more than four pieces of chicken. My go to place for lunch with one of my besties. The greens and veggies are always fresh. I love how many options there are in every section. Every time I go, I taste every protein option because why not? Whichever I like best I get. Don't forget to get a bread and croutons, they're part of the salad cost. This last time I went, they heated my bun, which was fabulous! The fresh juices are delicious. Totally worth it. Salad is good and fresh, with lots of options available. There is no small here, so unless you're ready to have a fiber-food-baby, come with someone to share with or be prepared to take some home with you. Only issue I have with this place is the fact the service is either wonderful or completely awful. There have been multiple occasions when my salad has been defeated by something put in it that I didn't ask for. I ask for bean sprouts, I get pea pods. I ask for almonds, I get walnuts. I ask for half of a scoop of dressing and get a full one. You get the idea. Still not tired of eating here after several years. I always get the same thing (salata mix, cucumbers, tomatoes, chickpeas, kidney/black beans, "krab", and a mix of herb vinaigrette and honey mustard with pita chips) and they're really good about avoiding olives since I'm allergic. They're also really great about adding something if I forgot or if I want more. There seems to have been some management change in the last year or so that's made the place a little less squeaky clean as is used to be but that was only once or twice over a period of six months. LOVE this place! I'm not a salad person, but trust me, this place is awesome. It's the same concept as subway but way nicer, and the portions are HUGE! Like one salad lasts me Atleast 2-3 meals so it's worth the $8-9! I get all the veggies & toppings I want, and then get the chipotle ranch & tuna which equals AMAZING salad! The bread can use improving..hint to owners: call Slo-Dough. They offer a chipotle topped bread, a pesto bread and a wheat seeded bread. I would have just loved a plain slice of french bread. It would have been the perfect accompaniment. But they don't have that option. The ambiance is very sterile and they seem to keep the the cold air blasting all the time so it's not real comfortable. The lunch line starts early and moves REALLY slow. But the quality of the salad makes up for all else. Parking can be tight also. read more

I must say that I really enjoy Salata but this location simply sucks!!! The servers barely speak English and only want to give you a pinch of anything you ask for on your salad or wrap. When I asked for more eggs, onions or whatever it was like I was bothering them. I started a new job that's less than one mile from this location so I tried it for the last three days. Today I spoke with a manager and all he said was that he was sorry, really!!! I will not return to this location... I would rather drive further than give them my business!!!
