We tried the jambon sandwich and chicken baguette, paired with a golden ale beer and coffee. Both sandwiches were outstanding--freshly made with incredible bread, generous fillings, and a perfect balance of textures. The strong cheese they offer on the side is a must; it pairs beautifully with the sandwiches, and the staff even lets you try it before deciding, which is a great touch. We did go around 2pm and unfortunately the pastrami was already sold out, which speaks to how popular it is. We also waited about 30-40 minutes in line, but it moved steadily and didn't feel too painful. We were lucky to find a spot to dine in, though most people grab their food to go. Service was friendly and quick despite the constant rush. The atmosphere is more grab-and-go than sit-down, with very limited indoor seating. Most people take their sandwiches to enjoy at a nearby park, which actually adds to the experience. Be prepared for a queue, but it moves faster than expected--and the payoff is absolutely worth it for what might be the best sandwich in the city.

The little shop only lets a few people in at a time, but the greeter had a lot of heart and kept everyone moving along. Our curry-chicken sandwich had both Cantal and Comté--we tasted the cheeses first and decided to have both--plus greens, caramelized onions, mushrooms and tomatoes. Then onto the panini press for that satisfying crunch. The bread and cheese made all the difference. Warm, gooey goodness dripping down your hand, and you want to lick it before it stains your shirt. We paid €14.50 for the sandwich. My advice: look at the menu while you're waiting. You choose the ingredients, and asking for guidance may get you a smile and an "It's up to you." There's very little space to eat inside. We took ours away, bought an Orangina nearby and a pastry at Marché des Enfants Rouges, and ate at Square du Temple-Élie Wiesel. I'd go again, partly to recall the taste and try making my own version at home. I wouldn't plan a Paris trip around it, but it's worth stopping if you're in the neighborhood. Visited September 2026.
