I order from here often and the food is great but... and this is big and makes absolutely no sense, if a roll has spicy sauce on it and I asked for it on the side it's an EXTRA $1! I guess a minuscule cup cost a dollar??? They will up charge even if you completely take something out. I am one who supports local businesses and this is very bad business on their part especially as a weekly customer. This is also not covid related, it's been like this since I have been going. I'm just actually fed up with a place that does this to loyal customers. Tonight is the last time, since I already placed the order. Next time I will just go to the other Sushi place (won't mention names) they do not do this at all. Very disappointed!!! We all work hard for our money and I will not be taken advantage of sorry. Amazingly Organized and Great Food I come here often and the food is always great and served in a timely manner. Perfect for when you only have a limited amount of time for lunch. I recently organized a party of 26 people and they were great at setting up the tables, serving the correct dishes, and getting us fed and ready to go in under one hour. The lunch boxes have a variety of different foods and they are very accommodating with gluten free options and other dietary restrictions. Always recommend this place! read more

So I decided to grab some sushi yesterday and honestly I don't eat sushi, but I heard a lot of my coworkers talk about this place so I went in the host was very nice I ordered spicy crunch tuna roll and a spicy crunch salmon roll. Fresh, delicious, friendly -- and always empty! I really want this place to stay in business so go!! I usually get the sushi a la carte and it's all good. They let you order one piece of something, not requiring you order two like so many places. The "white tuna" is new to me, and fabulous, recommended by the waitress there. Give it a try. read more

There is one other delicious Sushi place in Stony Point but I prefer this one. Their dine-in service is impeccable and as a family of four, they are very kid-friendly! Their lunch specials are an amazing deal. I'm only concerned because they were not busy when I ate here during lunch. They have one of the best online menus! It's very intuitive. I have tried their delivery service and their ETA are fairly accurate. Food was fresh, delicious, and they remembered the extra wasabi and soy sauce. Please don't ever close!! At a measly $20 delivery minimum I would love to try more of their fare. read more

honestly, there are not many hibachi options in Mahwah, but this is an excellent place. First of all, the food was AMAZING. My family rarely goes to hibachi, but this place was so excellent, they want to come back! First of all, for appetizers, we had edamame (beans) that were excellently prepared. I heard the sushi is also well crafted, because most of the workers have worked in Japan, so it must be pretty good. Then, for hibachi, I ordered steak + shrimp. It was amazing! The hibachi meal comes with rice w/ eggs and vegetables, more vegetables, noodles, a little bit of shrimp, and your choice of meat, chicken, etc. we also had miso soup and salad as an app, (it came with the hibachi meal) which was very good! The rice was excellent, the noodles were amazing, the vegetables were decent, shrimp was fantastic, and my steak was perfectly cooked. I could not have asked for a better hibachi meal! The atmosphere was pretty neat. It was very modern and a bit done up, but was still casual, which is just the way I like it. The service was pretty good. Everyone was nice, and the chefs were funny. All in all, I am DEFINITELY coming back to Sakura! I love it! read more

I originally rated Sakura 5 stars. Honestly, they have amazing food. However, the way I was treated tonight was deplorable. For starters, I dropped my chopstick and the waitress made a disgruntled noise and a face before giving me a new one. She then accidently poured water in my sprite, then charged me for a new one. After we ate, my two friends and I had separate checks but put the tip on two of them, which was about 20% for all 3 meals. She followed me out to my car to tell me that I didn't give her any money. After I was treated like that the last thing I expected was to be followed for a tip on a receipt that was only about $8. I eat there constantly. Some waiters know my face. Today was the one day I felt horrible after eating here. read more

Sakura is fantastic. My coworkers and I always order from this restaurant when we order in sushi. The food is delicious, the delivery is prompt and they have great lunch specials. You can also order from them online using the Beyond Menu app--don't be afraid, it does work! First time ordering from m this place and will be last time :( meant to stop by few times but didn't have a chance to because we have our favorite spot and pretty loyal to our usual sushi place but I figured why not try this place it's closer to where we live. First impression was the lady who was at the front not very friendly no welcoming smile although there was only 2 tables with customers in the whole restaurant in a Thursday night. I made a take out order , I ordered sushi live boat which seems to have in most Japanese restaurant as well as the place we frequent. It was $53 after tax, mind you I use to work in many sushi restaurants and I'm not cheap when it comes to sushi. Anyways she said it'll be ready in 15mins, 15mins later I went back to pick up my food came home open the box .....my son and my husband was like WOW lol WOW in a not so good way. First of all they cut their fish VERY THIN very small and thin sushi pieces and very small and thin sashimi pieces. :( we are not use to that I'm half Japanese I have sushi all my life I've seen it all, anyways usually sushi love boat from our usual place will be more than enough for 3 of us and still some left over, but as for this place their portion is so skimpy small that is not enough for 2 adult and a 10 yo and the fish doesn't taste very good. They stretch the portion by adding rolls with chopped fish, I worked in sushi places before and I know those prechopped fish are scrapped from fish bones after they filet their fish for sushi. Anyways very disappointed won't be going back there :( read more

Had the spicy kani salad and the spicy maki combo which consisted of 3 common spicy rolls, tuna, salmon and yellowtail, the Kani salad was ok didn't seem as crisp as I am used to and the sushi texture was off. We still feel very angry about our meal at Sakura this afternoon. We were bullied by the waitress into ordering off the dinner menu at 2:45 PM. The food was very salty and horrible. We ordered 2 hibachi dinners. We spent much more than we intended due to her making us order off the dinner menu. I asked that my son's meal have absolutely no sauce. The rice and chicken were fine but the vegetables came covered with sauce as was his salad. Very disappointed & feel completely ripped off. read more

We ordered 3 lunches for take-out. When I arrived home and opened the bag, I noticed that the containers which contained the food were not placed in the bag flat but were tightly packaged on their sides, making it extremely difficult to remove the containers without the tops falling off. As a result, one of the containers opened up, and all of the food spilled in the bag. When I told them what had happened, I returned to the restaurant and they agreed to replace the meal. As I was handed the meal, an employee who appeared to be a manager insisted that the containers holding the food are always laid flat. I indicated that might be the case, but in this instance they were packaged on the side. Although he acknowledged that my family is a good customer, he refused to acknowledge that the food was improperly packaged and appeared to question that I was telling the truth. I asked him if I thought I was lying but he refused to answer. As I walked out I told him that you just lost a very good customer as my family will never order from Sakura again. It is deplorable how I was treated with such little respect by this place. It seems that the restaurant and its employees have never heard of good customer relations. read more

We went there, last night. It was a horrible experience! My son has a disability, and I asked that he get his food first, a very simple meal. He was served last! My friend waited 45 minutes for a glass of water, and my daughter waited a half an hour for her soda! My friend and I ordered tofu teriyaki, we both left there, nauseous. Nice atmosphere. We will NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!! The service was awful! They didn't ever come to our table to see if everything was ok! read more

Have always had a great experience up until now. Ordered the usual sashimi deluxe, no problem there...ordered seafood salad, problem begins. I picked up my order brought it to boyfriend's house n discovered the seafood salad was lacking most of its components. No problem after all it's Friday night n restaurants are busy, called Sakura and explained to older Japanese woman my seafood salad only has lettuce n carrots maybe the oder was mixed up. As soon as I said there was no shrimp, octopus, etc she could no longer here me. OK so I call back n now the bullshit begins she cannot hear me again. You would think as a business owner u would try to make it right. I am saving the seafood salad n will drop it off tomorrow, maybe they can show me where the seafood is....last time I will dine here. Goes to show you have restaurants set a trend n slowly decline in quality....this is how you end up going out of business when you lack customer service and quality evaporates. read more
