This is Sakura's version of Tonkatsu pork ramen. The broth sets it apart from other ramen. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I have been coming to this establishment since 2019. I am currently living in Florida and came to celebrate the holidays and couldn't go back south without coming here. My sister and I started with tuna nachos as an appetizer. As an entree, my sister had the Scallop Teriyaki with rice and I had my favorite, Tonkatsu Ramen. Everything was delicious. The owner, Eva, and server, Sanna were attentive, friendly and very knowledgeable. The ambiance was really nice. I will always recommend this establishment to family and friends.

Sakura in Rockland, NY has never missed since I started going here years ago! The sushi is always very fresh and melt in your mouth - they have sake, wine, great appetizers and a revolving specials menu that always satisfies. What I ordered: - Good 4 You Roll - Salmon and tuna nigiri - Strawberry Japanese Soda RATINGS Food - 9 Ambiance - 8.5 Service - 9 Service - 9

    Crab Rangoon

Food is well prepared and unique, service is excellent as well as super friendly, helpful, professional staff. We have been eating here for many years now and will always recommend Sakura to friends and family plus it has a very quiet enjoyable atmosphere.

Always great sushi here always super fresh and presented beautifully . Plenty of parking and wait staff very friendly.

I ordered spicy maki combination and it was horrible. There was barely any fish in the rolls and mostly bread crumbs which tasted like saw dust. When my wife called the manager she told him he would not refund her and told her to take pictures and bring it back. When I went back to give the sushi he had the nerve to take off money for the price of a full salad when all we got was 4 tiny pieces of lettuce. The managers customer service was unacceptable. Besides that this place is filthy dirty. If I could give it a zero I would. Beware.

I was excited to try this place but tonight when I went to pick up my take out order I was really disappointed. I know it's a pandemic but I just don't know what happened herep mmmm. If something is wrong let your customer know. 7:05 - I order. She says it'll be ready in about a half an hour. Cool, I'm starving. 7:35 - I get there. Lots of people outside. Must mean it's good. I learn after a few minutes you actually get a text when your order is ready. Wow, neat! I return to my car to wait since it's chilly out. *waits patiently* 7:54 - Hm. Been an almost an hour. Lemme call them, I have to be somewhere soon. All the people I saw waiting when I got here are still waiting. Doesn't bode well. I call ask when it'll be ready and she assures me five minutes. I tell her I can't wait much more and she tells me "five minutes!" I ask if she is sure and says it again. 8:05 - I go up to the door again to explain I really have to leave but no one is there. I decide to wait ten more minutes because I'm not a jerk. 8: 17 - I seriously have to leave. I call her to say this and she says it's almost ready. I say I'm so sorry but I have to go and I'm really sorry but I just can't wait. I'm trying so hard to be polite because I'm not the kind of person who wastes food or small businesses money but... I can't wait. She then tells me to hold on and I hear her pick up another phone line to take an order. I hang up. I leave. 8:19 - She calls me back. She tells me the food is ready and I should come get it. I explain I tried to wait and had tried to say I couldn't stay, as it had been twice as long as the pick up time she gave me, but she got upset with me. She told me I should have let her know 20 minutes ago if I was planning to leave... which I did. But she explained it was somehow my fault? Huh? Tell me it's gonna be a while. Explain something happened, apologize, empathize, communicate... anything? I'm not asking for too much here. Don't call me back to tell me I'm wrong and demand I come get food I've been waiting over an hour and a half for already.

NEVER AGAIN!!! I have been ordering sushi from here for 2 years and today will be the last. They were so rude and disrespectful. I placed my order for delivery at 830pm and they clearly forgot to put in my order because it was an hour later and still no sushi. This is where I decided to call and they told me it would be 15 min, and I was ok with it. 20 min pass and still no sushi. They close at 10pm. Knowing this, when it turned 10pm I called them 8 times and no answer. At 10:30pm they show up to my house. I told the delivery driver I would have preferred that they were honest and told me they messed up my order as oppose to lying and making me wait. AND THEN HE LAUGHED in my face.

    Messsy rolls

I asked for a chicken teriyaki roll and they gave me another roll with chicken in it and then when I asked them to fix it they just added chicken on top of my sushi and it looks very messy & they don't have Yum Yum sauce

Dragon on top & Harvest on bottom.

20 year customer here. Staff is nice and attentive. i have had so much there without issue but the Harvest roll is simply awesome if you want to skip the rice and have more protein. Ginger salad dressing is also great. Sakura is a must go. I am moving and will miss this place.

Found "paper" in my Sesame chicken and white rice....

We still kept the Sushi Sandwich, Eel Avocado Roll, Mango Hawaii Roll, and the Pink Lady Roll, all of which have been consistently unbelievable. However, we also swapped in some substitutes for the other rolls. First, we included a Yellowtail Scallion Roll, which was a bit small, but delicious. Then, we also incorporated the Shrimp Hibachi, which came with white rice and a clear soup. The broth had a lot of flavor and contained fragrant mushrooms. The hibachi dish had a load of fresh vegetables (carrots, broccoli, zucchini, onions, and mushrooms) and a generous portion of grilled shrimp that were cooked through to the perfect plumb bites. The sauce was lighter than a teriyaki would have been, which was what we were hoping for. Yet again, it was another excellent curation of menu items. While I do love the duck breast and lamb chops included with the Classic package, we all felt Essentials was enough for this visit. Celia was our waitress. While things were a little slow getting started, once our first order went in, the food started flying out. Everything we ordered throughout the evening arrived much faster than it did on my previous visit. The menu makes it sound like they'll throttle you to only a couple of items at a time, but that really wasn't our experience. We were consistently able to order several items per person, so there was always something on the grill, more food on the way, and plenty to keep us chomping away. Our favorites this time? The top blade, brisket, hanger steak, pork belly, and even the salmon ceviche, which was surprisingly refreshing between rounds of grilled meat. We did have a couple of hiccups, but Celia was eager to make things right. After we received the wrong shrimp twice, she took it upon herself to get the manager involved. They tracked down the correct shrimp and brought it out. Thanks! Speaking of the manager, Andy was terrific. After another unpleasantry at our table, he came over and sincerely apologized several times. It was obvious he genuinely wanted to make things right. After we took a quick selfie together, he got us with a few complimentary cocktails. I have to say, anything here with cucumber in it is delicious here. Super refreshing. By the end of the meal, my son was a fluent griller and even said he liked Gyuzo more than the other all-you-can-eat BBQ places we've visited. That's about as good an endorsement as I can give. We'll certainly be back.

Unfortunately, we never even got to eat at the restaurant because of how disorganized the front desk was. We were quoted a 35-45 minute wait and were told to join the Yelp waitlist. We stood nearby the entire time waiting to be called. We never received any notification on our phones, and when we checked the app, our status had somehow changed from "waiting" to "cancelled." When we spoke with the hostess, she apologized and told us to wait because she would seat us next. Instead, we watched four other parties get seated before us. After waiting even longer, we went back to ask what was happening, only to be told it would be another 15-20 minutes. From what we observed, it also seemed like the restaurant was prioritizing seating larger parties over smaller ones. I can't say for certain whether that was their policy, but that's certainly how it appeared from our experience as multiple larger groups were seated while we continued to wait despite being told we were next. I completely understand that popular restaurants get busy, and I have no issue waiting my turn. What I do have an issue with is poor communication and disorganization from the hostess team. Mistakes happen, but telling customers they'll be seated next and then repeatedly seating other parties first is unacceptable. To make matters worse, this was our second night this weekend trying to eat here, and once again we left without ever getting a table. Despite the inconvenience and poor experience, no one offered an apology beyond a brief acknowledgment, nor was there any attempt to make things right or show goodwill for the time we had wasted. The food may be excellent, but we'll never know because the front-of-house experience was so poorly managed. A great restaurant starts with good customer service, and unfortunately, the hostess team left a very poor first impression. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this restaurant.

The formula is reassuringly simple: pick your starch base (rice or noodles), your protein (chicken/beef/shrimp/salmon/tofu), add the veggie medley, and a signature teriyaki sauce ties it all together. Is it actually all that healthy? Probably not. Does it hit every tier of the food pyramid? Technically yes, if you throw in a cheese wonton. The meat portion is not as heaping as in the pre-recession/inflation days so the protein-to-rice ratio now requires an intervention. I routinely order an extra portion of meat and request extra sauce, so the more loaded platter can theoretically feed two. But who am I kidding! The food is always freshly cooked and hot, and while there is plenty of seating inside, the place runs primarily as a takeout operation, so ambiance is non-existent and not the reason you came here anyway. There's a small and largely uninspired sushi menu with some basic rolls which the sushi snob in me won't deign to touch, but ticks the compulsory "Japanese" box of faux authenticity. Ultimately, if you're like me and could eat some variation of chicken & rice every day without complaint, Sarkura consistently and dependably delivers, and is always satisfying.
