    Hibachi Chicken

My 13 year old can cook better than this. This is the worst "hibachi" I've ever had. It's just dry chicken with a pound of rice and a sprinkle of teriyaki sauce. Doesn't taste horrible but definitely a waste of money. No way people think this is what hibachi is supposed to be...

Sadly, Sakura IX had a fire causing $250,000 in damages and will be closed for at least a few months. It is good to know no one was hurt in the fire, but it is still tragic to see this lose happen to a local business. I am really going to miss my favorite lunch spot for sushi until they can reopen. More can be read about this on WDBJ7's website: https://www.wdbj7.com/2023/11/07/no-injuries-reported-roanoke-restaurant-fire/.

    Heart Attack starter

My husband and I came here for dinner. The dine in area wasn't crazy busy but you could see that takeout and drive thru were non-stop orders. We got prompt service and sat where we wanted. We got hot house sake to share, nothing fancy, just to compliment the meal. For our appetizer we ordered the sushi starter Heart Attack which is a kani roll with cream cheese, tempura fried and topped with avocado and spicy sauce. Sorry delicious, nice portion for a starter for 2. We each got miso soup and 3 rolls each. I got the salmon roe sushi, yellowtail/scallion roll, the kamikaze roll and the spicy girl roll. I believe my husband ordered the monster roll, snow mountain roll and salmon sushi. All the fish was fresh and the rolls were very tasty. My husband's only complaint was one of his rolls wasn't super right and fell apart when he picked it up but that didn't stop him from eating it. For dessert we ordered deep fried cheesecake which is about what you expect that to be. Nothing fancy but definitely hit the spot for a sugary dessert. They do have some Japanese beers available and an AYCE option. If you want more entree style dishes they do have hibachi grill options as well as some Chinese (lo mein, fried rice) and Thai (pad Thai) choices. Given the fresh fish and the variety of entree options we will definitely be back in the future?

Kiera was an amazing waitress, our food was perfect. Clean inside. Reasonably priced. I highly Reccomended

Had the AYCE sushi for 6. The menu is limited but very robust. Something for everyone! We left plenty full and very happy. Forgot to take a pic of our sashimi platter. Shoutout to Shanice for her superb waitressing!

This restaurant has an all you can eat sushi for $19.99. This includes appetizers, sushi, sashimi and special rolls. There are also drive thru, dine-in and takeout options available at this location. For the AYCE option I had the Angry Dragon special roll and salmon, tuna, white tuna, red snapper sashimi, as well as salmon, tuna, white tuna, red snapper sushi and miso soup and spicy Kani Salad. I also had chirashi don that I ordered as takeout on a different day. It basically is an assortments of sashimi on a bed of rice. It was a very full and delicious meal. AYCE option is definitely worth it - price and quality-wise!

THE WORSE sushi I've ever had was at this location. I was in the area and yelped "sushi" then this spot came up. The food was disgusting and I was contemplating on Popeyes before I came here. At least I would've satisfied my palates there. Smh this spot was disgusting filled with fake meat. I made sure to ask if it was imitation crab before ai ordered -- sure enough it was. The other food was filled with rice, skimpy in meat, and plain so disgusting. Don't ever eat here it you can help it. The waitress was nice and hot sake came out nice though.

I came here with some friends for all you can eat sushi. Honestly, the food was just OK. The sashimi was served served in small, lopsided pieces, and my second order had even smaller pieces than the first (pictured). I tend to judge sushi restaurants on their tuna, my favorite fish. But after my first round of sushi, I switched to other fish. The sashimi menu for AYCE is also quite small. But on the positive side, the staff was friendly, and the price was right. My search for great, fresh sushi will continue. But if you're looking for affordable sushi, Sakura's price for all you can eat is second to none.

Spicy Salmon -loved. Alaskan- loved. cali - liked

I got the all you can eat sushi! I had Tia and had such a good experience she was totally on her game and makes you feel so welcome! The sushi was so good and i loved the crab rangoon and miso soup. I got a hefty sashimi piece for being all you can eat. Was not the biggest fan of the dynamite roll i thought it was a little salty of chicken.

I ordered a grilled salmon dinner that included a small salad and a serving of garlic mashed potatoes. My wife ordered chicken strips and fries. The salmon was good. The salad was good. The potatoes not so good. The chicken strips were good. There are a few booths along a wall as well as the bar area to eat. Biggest gripe is the wait time on your order being cooked. It must be a one man show in the kitchen( at least the night we were there). Overall the food was ok/good. Service was friendly and fast but......there are better places around town to eat. If I could add a 2&1/2rating that's what it would be. My very good rating max is 4 stars so I couldn't put a 3 star rating here. Sorry guys. Never once have I had a single issue worthy enough to mention. Also for perspective it's 8pm, it's been a 14 hour day and I surly was in no mood to get into my car when it's less than 20 degrees outside and the wind howling, but I did. Sat at a table for over 15 minutes, bartender avoided me as she was in deep conversation with another patron I suppose. Moved to the bar. Got a TUDE from her with a "I would have came over, you didn't have to move". Then another guy just walks up, she gives him a menu and then his drink, I have neither. Finally she comes over my way, I asked if I could place a take out over. She grabs a menu, drops it in front of me and walks to the other end of the bar without asking or taking my drink order. She starts at the other end of the bar taking drink orders for all the other patrons who already have a drink in front of them. My daughter was a waitress while in college so I'm extremely empathetic toward wait staff, my lowest tip is 20%, good service 30% and excellent pays 40%. Tips are how they earn a living. Walked out.... also the menu is vastly different than what is offered on their website. Also I guess it may have been the chef- working extremely hard the entire time holding up a wall. What's sad in the end is I'll bet a 100 to 1 that not even a peep will come of this review from hotel or restaurant management.

This well-regarded, upscale steakhouse, received The Roanoker Magazine's 2025 Platinum Award for Best Steakhouse in Roanoke City, and is considered a premier dining destination in the area, offering a high-end experience with a focus on quality cuts of meat and a sophisticated atmosphere, though at a higher price point. I made a reservation through the Open Table app for this Wednesday at 5:00pm, dining opening time, for table 85, which was the table I sat at the last time I dined there. This is one of only two tables next to a window in the back of the restaurant. I invite you to view the photographs accompanying my last review, when it was still light out, to see the window view I had from there. When I arrived, a friendly young lady greeted me and looked up for my reservation at the Host's station computer. She then took my coat, hanged it up and gave me a ticket for it. There was a beautiful waiting area with hunter green leather furniture, in front of an elegant designed bar. When my table was ready, she led me to my table. Soon after, my server Logan, another friendly and hospitable young lady, introduced herself and explained the menu and special of the day. To drink, I ordered a Strawberry Mockito Mocktail. For appetizer, I ordered the Seared Sea Scallops with a Parmesan Cognac Sauce. And as my main entrée, I combined a Live Maine Baked Lobster with a Certified Angus 14oz Beef Filet, cooked medium-rare, with an Idaho Baked Potato and Sautéed Mushrooms as sides. The Strawberry Mockito Mocktail tasted just right. Every bite of the scallops in that sauce was an absolute delight. Expensive, but priceless at the same time! The succulent lobster meat, all out of the shell, came with a little bowl of warm butter for dipping. The Filet was cooked perfectly medium-rare, with a warm, red center, as requested. No wonder this place is famous for the quality of its meats and cooking method. For the Grand Finale of my meal, I had a Bread Pudding made with Krispy Kreme donuts, accompanied by a scoop of vanilla ice-cream. All the servers worked as a team, and came by to fill my glass with iced water.as soon as it was half empty. My server also came by at the right times to see how I was doing and check to see if I needed anything. Even with the restaurant full with several large groups dining there, the Restaurant Manager, John Catron, came by my table to say hello and chat with me for a while. This restaurant has class, providing an exceptional dining experience, like no other.

We went to the downtown location and found an unassuming building next to some abandoned store fronts. It's not the place you would happen to just venture in if you weren't aware it was there. Once inside you would be pleasantly surprised basis the outside to find a nicely appointed traditional steakhouse. We were taken beyond the main dining and kitchen to a back room where we were initially the only ones seated there. It quickly began to fill with others. It was freezing cold back there. Seems to be an area they expanded in to. I got their signature cocktail, a pineapple martini, and it was ok. Not anything special, but a nice sip. I enjoyed it. For my appetizer I went with the lobster bisque and only one piece of lobster was in it. For my main dish, I decided against steak (I know, I'm at a steakhouse!) and went with an off menu seafood special. The portion was good. I was full, but with both the bisque and the seafood, I got a pleasant mercury after taste. It actually made me concerned and I didn't end up finishing the seafood dish. Both had lots of promise otherwise and I was fine, so just a taste issue. For the prices, I would not return. My meal with the one cocktail, lobster bisque, seafood dish and bottle of water came to $158. The price is comparable to steakhouses in Raleigh, so that is not what I was disappointed in, but moreso the quality of food for that price.

Going back to this restaurant after the great honor that I had received from Yelp, made me recall the first time that I dined here. I invite you that after reading this review, you go back and read that one, and view my photographs accompanying it, because it's one of which I am most proud of, and an experience that I will never forget and forever cherish. I arrived at the restaurant on time at five o'clock sharp and as I waited for them to open I had an opportunity to meet and chat with a couple who had been loyal customers of this restaurant for years since it first opened. They, as well as I, were aware of the beautiful location of the restaurant on one of the most exclusive neighborhoods of Roanoke. As soon as the doors opened, I allowed them to enter first and then when the host came back she gave me a warm and friendly greeting, welcoming me back, and took me to an ideal table, where I had a perfect view of the entire restaurant, from their open kitchen, to their bar, to the entire dining room and entrance, allowing me to capture in photographs the real feel of the ambiance of this cozy, yet elegant, upscale Southern, New-American restaurant known for its scratch-made dishes using locally-sourced, seasonal ingredients, including house-cured meats and pickled vegetables, as well as very creative cocktails. Shortly after I was seated, my delightful server Caroline arrived, and after a warm greeting took my order. To drink I order their Strawberry Fields Forever Mocktail. As appetizer I ordered a half dozen Oysters together with their famous Oyster Wraps. And as my main entrée, the Painted Hills Filet, cooked medium-rare. All the staff seemed so happy to see me and the manager came by to say hello and congratulate me for my outstanding Yelp accomplishment of 2025. My excellent server made sure that my order was well-paced, came by at the appropriate times to fill my glass with water and see if all was to my liking. Everything tasted amazingly delicious. Starting from the unique taste of my creative mocktail, to my flavorful appetizer, to my exquisite Filet main entrée that was so tender and cooked just right. The chefs in this fine dining restaurant are amazing and the quality of their meats is top notch. For dessert I had one of my favorite desserts, since I first had it there, their Dark Chocolate Panna Cotta. This dessert is absolutely mouthwatering. What an extraordinary dining experience I once again had there. Fine dining at its best. For those very special occasions, I highly recommend this restaurant. I invite you to go back and read that significant review accompanied by some of my photographs of the restaurant and its food. It is extremely rare for one to have had the opportunity to follow a restaurant from such an early stage. After being awarded the Triad Yelper of the Year 2024 Award at the Yelpies Award Ceremony last year, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, I decided that it would be appropriate this year to go back to this restaurant and write a follow-up review, since my initial review was one of my reviews that contributed to me obtaining this highly esteemed Award. Argentinian people are known for their love of eating. Social gatherings are commonly centred on sharing a meal. Invitations to have dinner at home are generally viewed as a symbol of friendship, warmth, and togetherness. This in particular reflects the significance of this family-owned restaurant's name: Familia Argentina. This Argentinian family is opening its doors not only to share its food with their customers, which is one of the things they are most proud of from their culture, but also to share their friendship with all of us, since homemade food is seen as a way to show affection to their guests. When you think of Argentinian cuisine, the first thing you think of is steak. That is why I was happy to see that they have expanded their menu with different kinds of steaks, such as skirt steak. NY Strip, Ribeye, and Ribs. They also now have in their menu, their famous "Parrillada Argentina," which is a combination of Skirt Steak, Ribbs, and Chorizo, totaling over than 1lb of meat. Some of their other very popular menu items include their Beef Tenderloin Sandwiches and their Choripan with Chimichurri sauce. Their new menu also include a page of Lunch Special and a few delicious desserts. As a matter of fact the cover photograph of their Yelp page is one of my photographs of their Creamy Strawberry dessert. Today I arrived for an early dinner and received a warm welcome by the wife and co-owner of the restaurant. We talked for a while about the restaurant's progress and I complimented them on their new expanded menu. I had already visited the restaurant right after the new menu was brought out and had tried out their delicious "Parrillada Argentina" main course and their Creamy Strawberry dessert of which I was surprised by its creamy richness. After we stopped talking and catching up with things, I ordered two Ground beef and one Knief-Cut Meat empanadas as appetizer, and a Beef Milanesa a Caballo. I love this dish, because it reminded me so much of the "Bistec Empanisado" (Cuban Breaded Steak, a type of Country Fried Steak) my grandmother used to make me when I was growing up in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The "A Caballo" part meant it came with two fried eggs on top. It was served with fries, and was practically the size of the dish it was served in. To drink I ordered a Dr. Pepper. Good thing I had skipped lunch that day because I was able to eat the whole thing, and I enjoyed it all the way. With lemon juice on top, that steak tasted amazing. However, I was so full that I skipped dessert. While dining, I forgot to mention that the husband, chef, and co-owner of the restaurant also came out to say hello. I had also met him the first time I came by the restaurant and had given him some suggestions. Such as placing larger photographs of the main menu items on one of the front windows to familiarize the public with Argentinian cuisine. In conclusion, once again I had a wonderful dining experience at this relatively new restaurant. Loved those tasty Empanadas and the Breaded Steak with Fried Eggs on top. I highly encourage you all to go try this family-restaurant out and give them your full support. I can assure you that you'll be glad you did.

When I arrived I parked my pearl white Lexus in The Center in the Square Garage, conveniently located next door and operated by PARKRoanoke, where you pay a reasonable fee by scanning a QR code when you arrive, fill out the information about your car and credit card payment and it tracks the time from when you arrived and submitted this information to the time when you leave the parking garage, automatically charges your credit card. There is a door from the garage to the Center in the Square building, where I took the elevator to the restaurant on the 6th floor. Once I arrived at the restaurant at the exact time of my reservation, the elegant and friendly host lady greeted me and took me to my usual table after recognizing who I was. Not long after, Kassidy my server arrived, gave me a warm greeting and took my order. To drink I ordered a Virgin Cranberry Mule. As appetizer I had the Scallop Thermidor, followed by a Side Mixed Green Salad with tomatoes, onions, parmesan cheese, and croutons, with Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing. As my main entrée I had their 8oz center cut Filet Mignon cooked medium-rare, served with mashed potatoes and asparagus, and with herb butter on top. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and the high-quality of their food. My server brought me a glass carafe of water with which she filled my water glass. Even the water here is high-quality and served elegantly. My Mocktail tasted simply marvelous. I enjoyed it to the last drop. The Scallops Thermidor had an amazing flavor, and I enjoyed enmensely. Everything was served at the right timing. Then came the salad which was made with fresh, quality ingredients. And the Filet Mignon was so tender and cooked just right, that while I was eating it I was already thinking on returning to have it again. The asparagus were fresh and just the right thickness to be able to enjoy them to the fullest. And the herb butter gave the mashed potatoes and everything else the perfect flavor. The manager gracefully took time to come and visit me at my table. He genuinely welcomed me and showed appreciation for my visit and for the good customer I've been of the restaurant ever since it opened its doors. Little did he know all the people that I've recommended this restaurant to. For dessert I had the Bananas Foster Beignets. The croissant dough of the Beignets were a bit overcooked, but overall the dessert tasted amazingly delicious. Next time I will remember to remind the cooks not to overcook the Beignets. In conclusion this is and continues to be one of my favorites restaurants in Roanoke, and once again I had an extraordinary dining experience there.

Until that one day that you decided to stop, and explore a whole new culinary world. After having been selected as number 4 of the Top 50 most prolific Elites of 2025, a year when I also was awarded the Yelp Triad Squad Photographer of the Year Award at the Yelpies 2025 Award Ceremony, an event that honored the highest-performing Yelp Elites, and where last year I was awarded the Yelp Triad Squad Yelper of the Year Award, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to uncover those found in hidden paths that for one reason or another have not reached the public in its totality. And Coach & Four Restaurant, in Roanoke Virginia is a perfect example. At first it was just a large colonial house turned restaurant on Williamson Road in Roanoke, Virginia. But once I decided to stop and explore it, it has become one of my favorite restaurants in Roanoke, Virginia. Its uniqueness lies not only in its colonial atmosphere and in its classic American cuisine, but primarily in its amazing staff that from the time you walk in begin to make your fine-dining experience one that you'll always remember and cherish dearly. Their refined behavior creates a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere that create unforgettable dining experiences. Today, after having gone through one of the worst snow and ice storms in years, I decided to not allow the icy roads to hold me back, and requested a Lyft to take me there for dinner. As soon as I arrived, the friendly host came out to greet me and take me to a table of my choice. My server from the first time I dined there, happened to recognize me and took me to the booth where I had dined the first time I ever dined there. We discussed a Mocktail for me to drink and she came back with an amazing drink, and a small meatball as an "amuse-bouche," designed to prepare ones palate for the meal. After studying the restaurant's extensive menu, I ordered their Bacon Wrapped Scallops as appetizer. For my main entrée I ordered the Prime Rib Combination that consisted of a generous portion of roasted prime rib served with a delicious lobster tail. For the two sides that came with my main entree, I had their famous tossed salad with their in-house made blue cheese dressing and a loaded baked potato. The scallops were not so big in size but big in flavor and texture. The salad was amazing, as always. The main entrée looked well at first, but when I cut into the prime rib it was too well done to be able to appreciate the flavor of the meat. But my server came by, as promised, to see if the prime rib was cooked to my satisfaction, and when I told her it was too well done for my original request of medium-rare, she gracefully apologized and took it back. Returning shortly with another piece of prime rib more to my liking. For dessert I had a slice of Pecan Pie a la mode, which by the way was amazingly delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for one of the best fine-dining experiences of your life. And am looking forward to returning and ordering ahead of time their Baked Alaska to have for dessert.

It was yummy But it was filled with tiny ice slithers that made it difficult to drink without choking on ice until the slithers melted. I always appreciate a good Luxor . The food was fine... I was just hoping to be awed. I had the grilled salmon was looking, for medium but it was definitely well done. It was will seasoned and I was hungry, so none went to waste, lol. I was just hoping for something special. The veggie side was small and basic but well seasoned and the potatoes were also well seasoned but missing the Chicago butter sauce advertised. Instead it had a tiny smear of what I'm assuming was cocktail sauce. I tried the cheesecake bread pudding which was their bread pudding of the day. Overall it was good. I wouldn't have minded more cream cheese and was kind of disappointed the strawberries came out with the leaves still attached. At this price point, I don't want to have to remove things on my own. My server was great, she was training someone new but still managed to be perfectly attentive without being over bearing. With Sidecar and Stock so close by, it takes a peak performance to get me to repeat a restaurant stop when I'm in town for work. This was a solid 4 today but there are 5 star worthy places that have my attention.

And Bernard's Gastropub & Eatery in Downtown Roanoke, is a perfect example. Bernard's was born out of the love of two culinary aficionados turned professionals that in someway have managed to create a restaurant with an environment that transmits this intimate love to the hearts of their customers through the attention to detail in its extraordinary customer service and amazing culinary masterpieces. Today, I felt like dining at this restaurant, which I admire for its consistency in always far exceeding my high expectations of what a fine-dining restaurant should be all about. Not knowing if they would have a table for me at this late time on a Saturday early evening, I drove in my pearl white Lexus to the nearest private parking lot and gave them a call to inquire as if they could give me a reservation for the next ten minutes. A gentleman, who later I found out was named Matthew, and would be my server, answered the phone with a very polite and welcoming voice; answering my question of what was the special dish of the day and to come on down, that my reservation was assured. As soon as I arrived to the small, very elegant foyer in front of the Host's station, he came out to greet me and instantly recognized who I was. My only request was that he give me a low table because at my age seating at a high table was a bit uncomfortable. He went back to see what he could find and ended setting me up with what I consider one of the best tables of the house, and I was so appreciative of his last minute accommodation. The menu was already setup on my table. He poured water from a special bottle into my water glass and asked if I wanted something else to drink. I asked for a Mocktail and since he also was a bartender, he prepared me one of the best mocktails I've ever had. To dine, I started out with their Mussels Carbonara appetizer, which came in a bacon parmesan cream sauce that was simply amazing, and served with toast points. As my main entrée I had the Dinner Special of the Night, the Seafood Trio. It had a delicious, giant size crab cake in the middle, scallops, and shrimps, with parmesan risotto sautéed heirloom tomato, spinach, and nice size asparagus, with a burre blanc sauce. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the high-quality of their food and magnificent ambiance of the place. Everything was so delicious that only one word could ever describe them: priceless! For dessert I had their very famous Butterscotch Banana Pudding, which the chef makes at the moment ordered. It looked spectacular and tasted amazingly delicious: a culinary work of art. What a great way for the Gran Finale of an extraordinary dining experience!
