Best Asian food in Brainerd. I don't do Sushi but others have raved about it. I have had the General Tso's chicken and absolutely love it. Chicken is crispy and the flavor is great. Added bonus is you can give them the spice level you would like. I love spice and the 10 (highest level) is my favorite. I love this place so much! The staff is always very friendly, and the sushi is amazing! And they have fabulous hot tea. I usually only get sushi rolls, but my mom came from Florida and got a Hibachi chicken dish that it was very good. Also, the bathrooms are always clean, which I find always says a lot about a place. Efficiency, Function, and fantastic food. From a place most would disregard in a heartbeat by its aesthetics. Driving up to it does not provoke any sense of desire or trust in the average persons eye. It looks sketchy and is surrounded by a rather trashy part of neighborhood. They don't have much for your typical sense of 'service.' For the most part utensils are all plastic or wooden chopsticks. You grab your own from a counter next to the register, which feels a little awkward for some reason. It really shouldn't, but it just does. Like I'm in full view of every patron and worker so they can judge my choice of fork or chopsticks based on what I'm eating. Table catering is minimal. They will bring your food to you. If you're dining in, they bring it to your table. Getting it to-go, they will carry it to you neatly tucked in a easy to carry bag with utensils as well as plenty of soy sauce packets and napkins. Don't expect someone to swing by and ask how you're doing and refill your drinks. It's all self service. Everything is laid out for you and the fountain drink machine is front and center. Can't miss it. Though I don't like their cups. Honestly their styrofoam drink cups are my largest complaint over all. The food comes in a plastic bowlish thing. While initially odd, it's really functional and I've grown to love it. Because, that's actually the to-go container. Can't finish and want to take it home? Covers are on the counter with the utensils. Slap it on and walk out the door. No waiting for a to-go box and clumsily flopping your food into it while you get splashed in the face and worry how dumb you look. It snaps on easily and holds well. I've yet to have one leak even when filled with liquids and tipped on its side. BUT DEAR LORD THAT FOOD!!! They invested everything in the kitchen. The food is quality. Its some of (if not) the best Asian cuisine you'll find outside of the twin cities. Presentation is not really a factor for me after taking a few bites. And I'm someone who won't cook unless I can impress with looks alone. So usually presentation is my number one factor. Their lunch special is what you should aim for if you're trying to save some money. Its from 11am-3pm. Some of the cheapest high quality sushi you can buy in Minnesota. I have not tried the drive through nor called an order in ahead of time. Therefore I have no ability to review those aspects. IN CONCLUSION: If you enjoy function and quality Asian food over aesthetics, this is a must for you. For those who can't get over the look of the place and don't feel like you can trust it. Don't be put off by the looks/exterior. The food is very good. I have only tried the generals chicken, fried rice, lo mein noodles, and California roll. There are not many Chinese restaurants in the area but this would be the best choice. Good prices too. read more

This is the 3rd time eating here, and it is delicious every time. I love the steak udon. The shrimp is great too. And it's the best sushi in the area. Their food is cooked perfectly. I also think the prices are fair for the quality of food they serve. Two thumbs up. read more

Outstanding new Asian choice in Brainerd. Started with seaweed salad-excellent! Crisp texture and nicely balanced dressing. Main course of lunch special spicy Singapore chicken Hibachi. House level of heat was perfect, broccoli was crisp yet hot, rice was great stickiness. Nice to have made to order and hot, versus the three existing buffets in town, where food is palatable, yet cool on the buffet line, and mushy from over cooking. I was so anxious to try this place as I definitely love Asian food, and typically like Japanese more than Chinese food. However, this place was a huge disappointment. Food was very bland. Almost flavorless. Fried rice needed garlic, more egg, more seasoning. Hibachi dish (I had chicken) was also nearly flavorless and watery. The servings are huge, if that is important to anyone. However, I would prefer less food and more taste. I suppose if your palate prefers bland, it would be desirable. We found it way too bland for our tastes. I will watch the reviews, and if there seems to be improvement in flavor.....I will give it another try. But not right away.... read more

Everything is served on a stryrofoam plate. This should be a red flag. Had the Thai chicken, the plate tasted better than the food.

Was called that I had won a drawing for a 25 dollar gift certificate. I asked the lady who called if I needed to pick up the gift certificate right away and was told no I could pick it up any time. I took my family there for lunch and said I had won a gift certificate and was told by a young man that I did not pick it up within three days so I lost out! I explained what I had been told on the phone and he said it did not matter. They have great food but their word and honoring what they say means absolutely nothing. read more

We ordered take-out; now, I'm comparing this to Chinese take-out in New York, so there is a lot more competition there with a Chinese take-out place on every corner it seems, but prices here for the portion sizes is not as good. With that said, I would get filled with a 10-15 dollar entree. We got hibachi steak which tasted alright--a little tough--but there was a hair in it which was definitely longer than my own hair, shorter than my wife's and a different color--I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt. We also got sesame chicken--this tasted like standard sesame chicken and was my favorite dish. We also got hibachi teriyaki chicken--this was actually my least favorite. Just didn't have the taste I was expecting, and the sauce was very thin--like a broth almost. Lastly we got crab rangoons which were pretty good. We will probably try another place next time and will not likely eat here again with other Asian options in the area. read more
