Titanic
Lena M.

It has been my dream to get a sushi boat for as long as I can remember. Although what we ordered did not come on a boat, it was called the Titanic and it's close enough for me. This beautiful dish was a great choice for three hungry people. We were given three miso soups and two salads before the meal. I didn't catch the name of the rolls that we got, but the Titanic had a great assortment of sashimi, nigiri, and two rolls. I really loved the salmon. Getting sushi here was a real treat for me. The fish was great quality and so tasty. I think one of the fish we had was escolar and it was just so buttery I couldn't contain a smile from how delighted I was. I adored the avocado and eel roll that was included. Super grateful we came to this place.

Dine in for dinner was quiet on a Friday evening. Looked like they do a crazy good takeout business. Enjoyed the Bento box for $20. Well worth it. Pick 3 from a list that includes more mains than sushi. Everything tasted fresh. Mine came in a traditional Bento box but my husband's came on a plate. My guess for the difference is that he ordered 3 sushi rolls and I did not. I had teriyaki as one of my 3. Had tempura as an appetizer and it was very fresh, too. Another Yelper said the shrimp tempura appeared to be another consistency in batter so maybe from a package and not freshly made in house. I'd agree. But it was good regardless. Servers aren't overly friendly but very attentive. We were checked on often.

I can only speak on behalf of the takeout from here but I've been pretty satisfied thus far. The rolls are reasonably priced and the fish tastes fresh. The salmon salad's dressing was a little underwhelming (soy sauce and vinegar if I had to guess) but the quantity of salmon sashimi on top more than made up for it.

I was so happy this place was next to the Holiday Inn. They are super careful about social distancing during covid. You can't eat inside, but you can get takeout. Only one person at a time is allowed in the ordering area and you have to wear a mask. The sushi was good and the prices were decent. I ordered a shrimp roll.

I went to a restaurant the food is incredible ! Good price. Now it's our new favorite place

The rice is too much water, everything so horribly makes. No more next time. Taste not fresh, the flavor all messed up. First time try and never want to go back again.

First time coming here the service was amazing ! The food was delicious I forgot to take a picture of the nebuyaki udon but that was delicious as well. The atmosphere was quiet which I loved ! Definitely will be back!

My go-to sushi spot! Staff are chill and have you sit wherever you'd like, the ambiance isn't too flashy, definitely allows the personality of each dish to shine! Everything is reasonably priced and fresh! When my boyfriend comes back from deployment, this is the first place I'm taking him! :)

Norfolk Virginia military highway Sake Sushi Sexy On A Beach Roll King Sushi roll

Less than 24 hours ago, my husband and I agreed to have food from Sake Sushi (the Norfolk Virginia military highway location) which was delivered via grubhub in a reasonable timeframe. My husband treated us to this food and we both enjoyed our food and my husband selected the chicken katsu dinner. We both shared in the gyoza appetizer and I chose the delectable King Roll sushi roll (comes with tuna salmon yellowtail avocado inside with tuna and salmon on top) and the delish Sexy On the Beach Roll (comes with shrimp tempura spicy tuna inside and topped with white tuna and special house sauce).

The Sake Sushi Restaurant in Norfolk maybe small, but the food is delicious! It has a clean atmosphere and sushi freshly prepared!

SKIP Kotobuki in Norfolk - Worst Sushi Experience EVER…read more Kotobuki in Ghent is a disaster. I gave this long-running spot a second chance, after a poor first experience, and it was a mistake. A friend insisted we return, and the service was shockingly bad, the sushi was subpar and the overall experience was the worst. From the moment you walk in, Kotobuki screams neglect: dead plants, servers dressed like they're doing yard work and a pervasive smell of old fry oil. We had reservations for the "traditional Japanese" sunken-table room, where we removed our shoes and climbed into our seats. One dirty pair of slippers sat at our table, while a random pair of construction boots lay abandoned nearby. The "ambiance" was completed by 70s soft rock -- Lionel Richie instead of "traditional Japanese" music. Our server took my order for a dirty Stoli martini, then disappeared for an absurd amount of time only to return and say they couldn't make it -- with no explanation. We hunted through the limited menu while our server vanished completely. The owner eventually stopped by, and I had to specifically request a sushi list. Tired of sitting cross-legged, I briefly put my feet into the pit under the table. Rather than place my bare feet on the filthy floor, I slipped my shoes back on for a moment. That's when the owner's daughter stormed over and aggressively accused me of saying, "Screw you and screw Kotobuki -- I'm not following the rules!" She launched into a rude, insulting lecture about "Japanese custom" while I sat there stunned. I immediately took my shoes off again, just to de-escalate, but the evening was ruined. No customer should be verbally assaulted over something as basic as not wanting bare feet on an obviously dirty floor. In an awkward position, not wanting to ruin the evening, I ordered my food. The sake was watery and flavorless, the house salad was sad, wilted iceberg lettuce drowning in bottled ginger dressing, and the sushi arrived lukewarm with questionable rice that called for a palate blinding amount of wasabi. It was boring, poorly prepared, and far below average. This was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. Hand to God! Had this not been a special evening with a dear friend, I would have walked out the second the owner's daughter chastised me at the table. Management at Kotobuki clearly doesn't care about customer service or basic standards -- especially when family members are allowed to treat patrons this way. "Japanese tradition" doesn't excuse poor hygiene, rude staff or substandard food. In America, we have health codes for a reason. If you want decent sushi in Norfolk, go literally anywhere else. Kotobuki is just a lazy dive. There's nothing special on the menu, very little sushi selection and nobody seems to care. If you choose to ignore this warning, lower your expectations folks, you are about to be disappointed. The only thing good about this restaurant, is the opportunity to tell you how much it sucked.

The menu prices are a couple bucks more than other places I've tried, but keeping an open mind. I ordered the "Bento Special" it comes with soup, salad, rice, half calif roll and your choice of protein. I ordered the shrimp tempura. Also ordered side of salmon roll. The tago container gives a nice presentation. But let's move in to the food. The salad dressing was okay it seemed a little watered down not much flavor. Soup was good and tasty. California roll was fine. The assortment of tempura was nice, but you get 2pcs of shrimp. All in all the Bento Special was pretty okay! Now going on with my side of salmon roll. Well, I always take a pic so you all can see the ratio if rice and protein. And look st my pic. Too much rice! I had to even take some out of the roll. I will probably tell them half of rice in my sushi roll. All in all ...I will come back and try their other dishes, and make sure to tell them to cut down on the rice for the rolls.

This was our second visit…read more We came during a very hectic lunch on Valentine's Day. Under those circumstances, it would be reasonable to expect that the quality of the food and service might not be up to par. But that wasn't the case at all - everything was excellent. Our waitress informed us that the Uni( sea urchin) was fresh. It was exquisite. The Eel Roll was perfect with a nice light sauce. My wife had several pieces of sushi, including egg, which were all very fresh. This restaurant offers a lot of selections that you won't find at your typical sushi establishment. The service was brusque that day because they were so busy - but very efficient. This has become our favorite sushi restaurant.

While the staff tends to speak quickly, their personalities and attentiveness more than make up for it, creating an atmosphere that feels both polished and inviting. The atmosphere is largely beautiful, with a thoughtfully designed main space that immediately makes a strong impression. That said, some of the smaller details could use attention: a worn menu, a very small and plainly styled bathroom, peeling paint on the ceiling, and a stray balloon in the corner stand out in contrast to the otherwise elegant setting. The big picture is clearly prioritized here, and while the space still looks great overall, tightening up those finer details would elevate it even more. The drinks are straightforward but effective--flavor-wise they're perfectly fine, but they're generous on the pour, which absolutely earns them five stars. And the sushi is the real standout. The quality of the fish is exceptional--arguably the best in the city. Instead of leaning on Americanized gimmicks, the menu feels much closer to authentic sushi, letting the freshness and craftsmanship speak for themselves. All things considered, this is an excellent spot that balances quality, professionalism, and authenticity, and it absolutely earns a five-star rating.

Inside was packed, but we didn't have a wait time at all. Waitress was quick to get our drink orders and shortly after, put in our food. To drink, I tried the Royal Flush (9/10), I loved the flavor. For appetizer, I had the Soft shell crab (10/10) and Gyoza dumplings (8/10) they were decent, not super flavorful as before. For sushi, I tried the Sea angel (10/10), Lobster cha cha (8.5/10) it was a little lacking in overall taste for me, Red dragon (7/10) and Yellowtail with Jalepeno (7/10); both were just okay to me. My goal is to try a new roll / menu item every time I visit, so of course, I'll be back again in the future. Love the options they have on the menu compared to other all u can eat sushi spots; volcano is still on the top of my list. My overall rate of experience : 8.5/10

The sushi rolls were good, they did not have lots of rice like many of the ayce sushi places, fish was fresh except for the one roll with the spicy shrimp salad on it... it had a little bit of a fishy taste to it. Not sure if it was supposed to be like that or not, but for me, I hate that fishy taste from any kind of fish. I tried about 7 different rolls, including Philly, Rainbow, Fantasy, Spicy Girl, Crazy Train, Butterfly, and Spicy Tuna. What I liked about the rolls was that they were not over stuffed with rice, on a few of the rolls you could actually taste the fish. For the rolls with crab, they used real crab meat and not the imitation crab. Their signature item is mango, so there are a few rolls that have mango in them.My favorite was the Fantasy Roll with cream cheese, shrimp tempura, avocado, and crab. Atmosphere was relaxed and laid back, not too noisy. Service was great, took about 10 mins from order to having food on the table. And the price cant't be beat for Ayce lunch sushi for $16. Definitely worth a try if you are craving some sushi but don't want to spend a lot of money. Philly, rainbow, fantasy, spicy girl Crazy train, butterfly, spicy tuna
