Spent the night at SAK Comedy Lab and honestly had way more fun than I expected. The performers were incredibly quick-witted and talented, and the fact that so much of the show is improvised makes it even more impressive. They did an amazing job getting the audience involved without making it awkward, and there were multiple moments where the entire room was laughing nonstop. Every comedian brought different energy and personalities to the stage, which kept the whole show entertaining from start to finish. What really stood out was how creative and spontaneous everything felt. No two shows are probably ever the same, and you can tell the performers genuinely love what they do. It gave major "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" vibes but with a local Orlando feel that made it even more fun. The venue itself was nice, intimate, and had a great atmosphere for a night out downtown. Whether you're going with friends, family, or on a date night, this is one of the best entertainment spots in Orlando if you want something different from the usual bars or theme parks. Definitely a hidden gem for both locals and tourists, and I'll absolutely be coming back for another show. read more

Sak Comedy Lab presents the Bracket Brothers. They have these special shows whenever but it seems every few months. The two hosts create a category and if you follow them on Insta you can vote before the show for your favorites. No ticket is required to vote. This show's category was the REAL Orlando. Everything was supposed to be local and the bracket categories seemed to be 1) Sports and museums. 2) Local park type spots 3) Classic shopping like Fashion Square vs Park Ave CDs. You get the drift. Audience members or panel guests could also nominate on the fly. It was about an hour and a half show that kicked off at 9:30 on a school night! The theater was very full of passionate, vocal and fun seeking patrons. The guests were selected for both their local presence and ability to rip off a quip on the fly. There was a 5-10 minute intermission but the audience could come and go as they please during the show. The show follows a format but the overall vibe is anything goes. The audience is encouraged to interact and state their opinion & why, when passed the microphone. Panel guests and the hosts can pause the discourse by ringing a bell. Generally funny follows. They had a free Photo Booth, concessions and liquor at reasonable prices. read more

We went to our first show at Sak Comedy Lab last night and we loved it! We parked in the 55 West parking garage which is attached to the same building Sak is located in. So you just head to the second floor and it takes you to the correct level. Doors opened 30 minutes before and the process to check in and get our seats was super easy. We actually paid a little extra to get VIP reserved seats so we had chairs waiting with our names on them when we went into the theater. It was totally worth the up-charge to us! In the lobby they have a bar that has wine and beer available for purchase along with popcorn and some snacks. The actual theater is set up really nice with a couple of rows of floor seats and then normal theater seating behind those. After having such a fun time at the comedy debate show we attended I know we will be coming back to Sak soon to see some more shows!! read more

Saks Comedy Lab moved to a new location on Church in the second floor of a building and it's so nice! We went for Wine Down Wednesday and for $22 a person, that included two drinks each. This is not stand up comedy, this is improv either different skits. It was amazing what the comedians could come up with on the spot and using the audience participation. I've never laughed so much in 90 minutes. The venue is clean and a bit chilly inside so I recommend bring a light cardigan. They have a number you can text that they advertise during intermission where you can sign up to receive notifications about upcoming promos or discounts available. read more

SAK has moved locations! The new location did take us a few minutes to find. The staff was very friendly and the room seemed very clean. The prices have gone up significantly over the last few years. It is now $20.00 to attend the 7PM show. They did not offer any type of discount to stay around for the second show. Years ago they used to offer a discounted rate if you want to buy tickets to stay for another show. I had the fun opportunity to be a judge at the 7PM show tonight. It was fun being able to score the different scenes. If all 3 judges give a 5, there is a dance party that occurs. There were some really funny moments during the show. It was cool that there was also a live piano player on stage as well. I would highly recommend checking it out. It's such a fun thing to do with friends or family. The new building is nice, and the theater seems very well maintained. They do still have a bar available. I didn't specifically notice any food options. We got food nearby after the show. My absolute favorite date nite! My boyfriend got us tickets for the first time and we laughed all night. Drinks at the concession were decently priced. Some snack options available. Show started promptly and we laughed from start to finish. We went to the Saturday 9pm show. The show was a competition between the cast members with lots of audience participation. What a great date night! We went to the 7:00 p.m. show which is more family-friendly. At one point my husband and I were cracking up. The dance party was a cute touch. (I won't add any spoilers on what causes the dance party) We arrived around 6:50pm. Quite a few people were already in their seats. So I do recommend getting there early if you want lots of options. Otherwise it's a pretty decent sized theater so you do get quite the selection. The reserved seats were in the first two rows. All of the performers were really funny. The different ways they engage the audience to create the scene was super fun. When the two guys had to try and say the same thing at the same time I was dying with laughter. I'm not sure I could do that but kudos to them! We plan to go back for their later show. So I'm excited to see how that one goes. If you want to have more interaction with the performers I recommend sitting towards the middle and the back. We sat in the second row by the exit doors. My husband and I were in an introverted mood so it worked out for us. read more

SAK is a downtown Orlando staple and always makes for a fun date night or group outing! I've gone with just my husband and as many as 15-20 people through the years (purchasing advance tickets is highly recommended with a big group). It's also very affordable, and I love supporting such a cool, local institution & their improv performers. You can purchase your tickets online and then pick them up at the box office when you arrive. They also validate parking in The Plaza parking garage which is super convenient. I love that the shows are always changing/different. We recently went to the Freestyle Rap Improv Show with FREE DAPS and it was hilarious. Seriously, so much talent on the stage and I'm always so amazed at how good these guys are at coming up with stuff on the spot... So many mic drop moments! I also gifted SAK's beginner improv classes to my hubs a few years ago for Christmas. I should mention that when he opened the gift on Christmas morning, he was NOT at all thrilled and more like completely terrified (at first lol). I honestly thought I was giving him the coolest present EVER, but I did not get the reaction I was hoping for (we laugh about it now). It was something that was totally outside of his comfort zone and yes, he was super nervous, but HE DID IT (because he actually wanted to challenge himself, not because I made him, haha) -- AND he graduated from the class with a public performance. He still says it was such a fun experience that gave him helpful techniques and skills for everyday interactions, thinking on his feet, and exercising his creativity & imagination. I surprised my boyfriend with tickets to Saks for our anniversary. Purchasing tickets online was quick and easy. I opted for their 7:30 Duel of Fools show. We missed the recommended garage somehow (my user error when trying to look at my gps) and parked elsewhere, but if you park in the plaza garage you'll get a validated parking discount. We had a drink at a spot next door, and then popped over to Saks a half hour prior to showtime as recommended. Checking in at the venue was easy and the person working was friendly. Once inside, you can head upstairs to use the restroom and grab some drinks and/or snacks. We got a couple of beers and a popcorn and headed into the theater. Seating is first come, first serve with regular tickets so the earlier you show up, the more options you'll have. It wasn't super busy when we arrived so we got some great seats and settled in. The show absolutely exceeded my expectations! I love improv style comedy and the performers delivered. All of them were fantastic and great at getting the audience involved (without trying to make you do anything embarrassing which my introvert self appreciated!) The performers are so quick witted and talented and had both my boyfriend and myself laughing throughout the show. The 7:30 show is also pretty PG so if you have little ones, they can join in the fun. A family in front of us had a small kid and he was having a blast being one of the judges. Another family took advantage of a premium experience the venue offers in which you can have the performers base a skit on a specific person in your party. The skit was hilarious and the "victim" seemed to have a great time participating. This was a great experience and I'll definitely go back again! read more

**This is a review of the improv class, not as an observer.** I attended a work-related event at SAK comedy lab, improv for business. Our host and trainer looked like he was having a grand time teaching us the basics of improv. I am introverted so I wasn't sure how this would go, but it was really fun. I learned a lot of techniques that I could leverage at work and in my personal life. Improv takes a lot of working memory, fast thinking, vocabulary, and imagination! It was a great experience and one that I would love to introduce more people to. In a side note, my friend took their improv classes for fun in the evenings after thinking he is out of practice after lack of socialization/exposure to groups of people after Covid and he got a lot out of it as well. Highly recommend, either for work or for fun! read more

This was a bit different than my typical date night, but we had so much fun! I have been to a ton of stand up shows, but this was my first improv comedy show. Because of this, I had no idea what to expect. It definitely is very different from standup, but it was fun because of the crowd interaction - everything is based on what the crowd says. We went to the King of the Hill show at 9PM and appreciated the more "adult" atmosphere. Improv comedy seems to be a little bit cheesier than your typical standup comedy. I will say, the show got a lot funnier as my boyfriend and I got tipsier. I can't remember the price, but the double cups of wine surely got us in a laughing mood. If you're looking for something different to do that's relatively cheap, I would definitely check it out. We will probably come back if we wanted something interesting to do when visitors are in town. read more

I've been going to SAK Comedy Lab for years and I always tell everyone about it. If you haven't gone to check it out, you need to!! It's such a fun time! The shows are hilarious and it's very reasonably priced for the experience. They have a concession where you can get popcorn, candies, and (yes) drinks! I've taken my family here before, I've gone with my girlfriends for a girls night out, and date nights with my boyfriend. It's a perfect place for any occasion. My favorite show is their "signature show" called Duel of Fools, which they have most weekend nights at 7:30pm. In this show there are 2 teams of improv comedians that are competing against each other by performing improv scenes that are judged by audience members. The best part about these shows at SAK is the fact that they take audience suggestions and everything is made up on the spot so each and every show is completely different and it's always guaranteed to make you laugh. I've never been disappointed! Pro tip: if you're driving to the show make sure to park in the Plaza parking garage just around the corner. SAK will validate your parking stub down to $4 and the parking garage is very short walk over to the theater (leas than half a block away). read more

SAK is 100% guaranteed a total blast. I have never walked out of this place not feeling a million times happier than walking in. My first time here was at a work event doing some team bonding over a whole lot of roasting. Where you choose a person for all the comedians to bag on. All in light fun of course! Never did it feel derogatory or overboard they keep it overall clean. Keep in mind some shows are labeled for adults and this review is not based on attending one. I assume if you call someone can help explain the differences. My second time was to show my mom and dad, with 7 year old on hand, around the town on a Thursday night. There couldn't have been a better experience. Not as packed as a roast or weekend night show yet the energy and laughs were equally at an all time high. My little one enjoyed being on stage and they knew how to make her cute broad responses into comedy masterpieces! It's all improv, naturally be prepared to be impressed! Another area to note is that although they don't offer a full on meal snacks, soft drinks, and beer and wine are available for purchase at the beginning of the show and during intermissions! This is perfect venue and experience to do some team building or have an event in honor of roasting someone! read more

The king of the hill show is our favorite and I love that even though it's the same concept, every show has different actors and skits. It's also very convenient that they sell drinks and snacks right outside the theater and there's an intermission in case you didn't have time to grab at the beginning. SUPER neat place to go when you're looking for something fun to do with the family!! I love their style of comedy, it is family friendly not too over-the-top and realistic. We went to one of the improv nights and they do a sort of back-and-forth with two teams. A couple of the audience members get to vote on a scale of 1 to 10 how good the acts were, and then one group gets to take the prize for the night. Very curious to see how the adult sure would be, they did offer half price tickets for the late show if you had attended the first one. Amazing show, attended the Friday 7pm one while visiting Orlando for a conference. They had quite a bit of audience participation which was extra fun. The artists are very funny and spontaneous which is what you'd want at an improv show. Special shoutout to the unexpected musical improv bit. Yelped this comedy club and wife wanted to check it out because Wayne Brady and other famous improv actors have been students/ actors at this club. The decor is very cool and underground comedy club feeling with cool art, posters, and past comedians pictures. They have a very accessible location with a side entrance and elevator to access. There is ample space to maneuver and the seating allows for great visibility. The staff is very pleasant and extremely friendly. The bar/ concession area is very artsy with a full bar, popcorn, and candies. The improv comedy is fantastic. The talent and audience interaction makes for a great time for all. The audience chosen judges are fun and the dancing when the score is high is hilarious. I'm a pretty hard critic and I don't typically give 5 stars but this is a great evening show and I would highly recommend it for a fun family night, date, or single outing. Surprise date night! My boyfriend surprised me with vip tickets to this comedy show. Different comedians show case their improve skills. These guys and gals work together to create songs, skits, rhymes, and dance. Truly an amazing talent to witness. Unscripted, but practiced. Random and challenging. It can be cringe worthy at times too. The show is intended to be all age group appropriate and it was kept very clean, which I appreciated. I didn't order any snacks but they did have beer, wine, and popcorn for sale. A fun photo section and the entire cast is outside in the hallway after the show willing to take pictures. It's one of my boyfriends favorite. I didn't care for that type of entertainment, but I recommend giving it a try. I did smile and giggle the entire night. read more

Omgosh! I've been living in Orlando for so long and I can't believe it took this long to come to Sak Comedy Lab. I have not laughed this hard in a long time. I went on a Saturday night and it was improv night. All I have to say is the actors/comedians on stage were freaking hilarious. Improv truly is a gift and I had an amazing time.
