I confess: I've always been skeptical of New Age-ish "remedies" and many homeopathic treatments. I like my meds prescribed by my doctors, and I believe in drugs. lol. Plus, I'm not really attracted to these machines that spew scents in the air, with their mists and steams and all the fuzzy science that goes along with it.
So I was predisposed not to like this store, truth be known.
Flashback to this past Christmas, when our lovely neighbor gifted each of my kids with a Saje "Peppermint Halo" roll-on stick. The product purports to be a "headache remedy". Well, there are no shortages of headaches in this household, that's for sure! Both my kids tried their peppermint roll-on's on their foreheads and the napes of their neck and they both, independently, told me that these darn sticks worked. They actually worked!
I was incredulous.
So I came to this store to get one.
The air was full of their misty, steaming devices. It felt like a tropical forest in there; all that was missing were the Amazonian bird calls and tree vines swinging about. But I admit, humid though it was, the place smelled pretty good.
The lady who helped me was super nice and didn't try to up-sell me on other products at all (which I appreciated). I did ask her about a "sale" sign on a table, though, and she said that the pain relief items were 20%. Pain? Did someone say "pain"? I have pain!!! Pain is my middle name! (I am in training for a half marathon and presently have tendonitis in my foot, among other issues. There's always an "issue"....). I bought a pain relief roll-on stick, in addition to a peppermint headache stick.
I haven't used the pain remedy yet, but I did try the headache stick. And, amazingly, it really DOES help! I'm not sure if it's the cooling action or the distraction it causes, or something else entirely, but it really did lessen my headache. A lot. So I'm no longer a skeptic.
If the pain reliever stick also works, I plan on returning for something to help me sleep at night (I'm a terrible insomniac).
