Amazing pharmacy with great staff and excellent customer service. I've came here a few times to pick up prescribed medicines and the staff were so incredibly friendly, informative and knowledgeable. For instance, I had a bad virus infection earlier this month, and the pharmacist explained thoroughly about my medicines as well as which nose sprays I should use extensively and which I shouldn't. Yesterday, I stopped by to ask for muscle relaxers because I hurt my back. I couldn't bend down forward and I was in excruciating pain when I try to sit. But what I got was more than that. The pharmacist behind the counter gave me advice on what to do - Go home, take my Advil with food to avoid stomachache issues, apply heating to the muscles where it hurt and relax. I felt like he genuinely care. Even though I didn't walk out of the pharmacy with what I intended to get, I appreciated the good directions on what to do. I followed exactly what the pharmacist (sorry I didn't get your name if you're reading this) told me to do and I felt 10x better this morning. Thank you!! read more

I went in to fill a prescription for a medication that I've taken on and off for over 20 years, but have had trouble filling recently due to a shortage. My regular pharmacy was out of all dosages of that particular medication, and told me I'd have to check around to see where I could fill it. Another pharmacy had a lesser dosage and a higher dosage than I was prescribed. Kept provider updated, so that dosage could be adjusted or another pharmacy could be located. I'd stopped in St. George Pharmacy a week or two ago, and was told that they carried that medication, but not the dosage I'd been prescribed (but they won't specify the dosage they carried). I didn't happen to have the pill bottles on me at the time. I came in today with two pill bottles of varying dosages to see if they had either dosage. The pharmacist took both behind the counter to then tell me that they didn't carry that medication at all (so why take my pill bottles behind the counter?) to then ask me again where I normally fill it (which I explained, but was on the label), why I didn't go there (I explained that again), then told me to look him in the eye and said that I needed to go back to the original pharmacy ask for a supervisor and tell them to find another location to fill the prescription! (I'd already inquired.) The pharmacist was so incredibly rude! I made to feel like a criminal or a drug fiend for trying to fill a legitimate prescription! I'd also popped in months ago and looked around (they have some hard-to-find products) and noticed that there was a label on the shelf for 99% isopropyl alcohol and an empty space, but no product. I asked, was told that they would order some, was told the delivery date. Came back multiple times before I was told it was on back order and that I should just order from Amazon. Very strange and rude. I would've expected better from a neighborhood shop. I will not be returning. read more

I don't live in NY anymore but when I come visit for long periods of times and need my medicine, I am well taken care off. The workers are very friendly and are on top of the customers needs. They take a lot of different insurances which make it easy for customers. For a private own business I hope they keep growing. I love coming into the pharmacy and seeing a welcoming face. Always have had nothing but excellent service and I appreciate quality and courtesy ! They go above expectations every time .

I had been using this pharmacyfor about 25 years. I complained about the new owners and the lack of courtesy by the staff. I was appeased and gave them more time to get things working more efficiently. Since then I have problems every month. Such as them filling the order halfway and boing to pick it up......when I complained that the order wasn't complete, I was told that they were too busy now and to return some other day. This month I had to give myname,d.o.b. and was put on hold before yhey took my RX#. When the person returned to the call he questioned me if I new what medication I was ordering. I spoke to one ofthe owners today "Joe". While listening to my complaints he expressed tha he didn't care how long I was a customer or how much I spent at his establishment. I suggest that he change his business to one that has no customer contact. My advice is to go elsewhere. They are the rudest business and I will not. Be returning there. read more

I had a standing order with a mail order prescription service but got tired of the errors, the rules, the bureaucratic nonsense I had to put up with. True, the prices were sometimes slightly lower and I appreciated the convenience of home delivery by mail. But those positives didn't make up for the hours spent on the computer and the phone, trying to resolve some bureaucratic screw-up because one department didn't know what another department was doing. Then I switched to St. George Pharmacy, which I can walk to from my house. By contrast, pharmacist and owner Al Gentile knows me and my family, knows my doctor and knows my prescriptions and I can always speak to Al if there's a problem or if I have a special request. Through the Good Neighbor discount program, I accumulate reward points that allow me to buy non-prescription items for less, sometimes at no charge. Yes, there's no delivery service, but that's a small inconvenience I accept. Local is better! read more

Al Gentile and his staff at the St. George Pharmacy are the epitome of good local business, professionalism, and service. These guys also know their customers, by name. They're always ready to go a few extra steps. Last week, there was a fire in their building and the pharmacy was pretty much destroyed. They are re-building, but in the meantime, they are going an extra step to keep serving their customers. It's amazing - the pharmacist and the staff are stationed on the street in front of the burned out pharmacy, doing emergency dispensing. Soon they'll have moved their stock into a trailer and will be operating out of a trailer on the same block. But today they gave me an emergency 10-day supply of one of my prescriptions to hold me over until they had their trailer set up. All just a few days after a major fire has forced them out. I haven't had medication filled here, but the location is very convenient (i live in the neighborhood) located in the midst of the busy courts and borough hall area. They have a decent selection of greeting cards and even sell the typical big box store gift cards for those last minute gifts. Friendly service.... but i'll be back for the awesome selection of melissa & doug wooden toys- prices are comparable to online, gotta love that. read more
