It's in a really nice area of Costa Mesa close to a bunch of hotels, south coast plaza and some of the best restaurants. (So many options for you to pick from and have dinner before your show) The architecture of the building itself is really beautiful. I would say it's a little tucked in, because I am always in this area and have never seen it before. The ambiance inside is nice as well. It's extremely clean This place has a parking garage and valet. Unfortunately, we had no idea they had valet. So we just automatically parked in the parking garage. But they do have a little walk way that is extremely easy to get to the building from the garage The lines went extremely fast for getting into the building. There was no restrictions on handbag size. ( or at least they didn't say anything to me about it / could differ from show to show and who is performing) All I had to do was open my purse and walk through a metal detector. Everyone was so friendly Once we entered the building, there are tons of staff directing you where to go if you need help finding your section They do have stairs when you walk in, but they have elevators. I chose to walk up a few stairs and then take the elevator to get to our seats We had second floor box circle level seating. It was extremely easy to get to the seats and the lady who took us to our seats was extremely kind and helpful She also gave us the rules - No placing your handbag on the railing, no video or flash photography I can't stress enough, the importance of elevators and it being accessible. So 5 stars for that The bathrooms were very clean and had a great amount of bathroom stalls. So there was no line I only saw one very tiny stand where you could get refreshments. A small theater, but you should check it out for an inexpensive community theatrical performance! The price was amazing for students and every seat was filled! We arrived to watch Titanic, which was more about the history of what happened to the actual ship ie.) the internal reasons and a parody of what happened throughout. Not too many props, but the costumes were accurate! Good use of space as well! ie.) Different rooms or inside/outdoor lighting. Downfalls were that I couldn't hear half of what some of the actors/actresses were saying/singing, the stage is super close, and the interior is outdated (seats & stage). I would recommend renting a costume here, because that was the only decent and intricate item. I do like to support local places & community outings, but I suggest an upgraded location/space. Overall, everyone did a wonderful job and keep growing as wonderful individuals! Flyers were handed out, the show started promptly, and there was an intermission! 2 items for $5, in which we got coffee & popcorn. The play was a few hours long I think 2-4 hrs is appropriate, which is worth your money! Classical music is something that I grew up with and still enjoy listening to until now. I can name a lot of my favorite composers from back in early 16, 17, 18 hundreds but I'd rather not. I listen to symphony/classical music with a different ear. It is always relaxing, soothing, and calming. Also, let me not forget to mention that I grew up playing the piano very well. That also has something to do with it. The Renée & Henry Segerstrom Hall is the newest addition to the Segerstrom Center for the Arts campus, opening in 2006. I have been to this place 5 times in my life. Each time that I have gone there has been a beautiful experience, top notch, in every way. Great location with so many dining options within walking distance & the Pacific Symphony are glorious, glamorous and amazing to listen to. This hall is GORGEOUS, BEAUTIFUL, & EXTRAORDINARY! It has 4 levels and no matter where you sit, you can see and hear the performance very clearly. The sound system is FANTASTIC!! I have seen/heard Itzhak Perlman, Scandinavian dance performance, couple of Jazz artists like Berry Perkins Bobby Rush, and few others.. On February 7th, a friend of mine invited me to the event "St.Clair Conducts Beethoven & Don Quixote". Tickets started at $33 and up. Our tickets were $108.00 each. I know, pretty steep, but, totally worth it. We were sitting in the orchestra level row U, seats 10 & 11. I can go on and on and on about this wonderful venue, the architecture of the building, but my fingers are now tired, so I will conclude my review by saying that staff are very professional, helpful, ushers will direct/escort you to your seats, parking is $20 and the rest I am leaving it to your own imagination. Pristine, super clean restrooms. Lights off, and enjoy the program:-)!! I wish this place was close to my city/home.

On Sat., July 20, 2013, I saw Twelfth Night here…read more If you see only one play this summer, SEE THIS ONE! Six performances remain. It is an outstanding professional production of Shakespeare's craziest comedy with a super cast of 18 or 19 actors. If you do not laugh hard, see a psychologist - something is very, very wrong with you. And as a date, with friend or spouse, well, as Duke Orsino says, "If music be the food of love, play on!" It's also a great introduction to Shakespeare for young people. It helps to know a bit about the play beforehand, so review the plot on the web, or read the synopsis at the theater. The script is full of silly jokes, and mistaken identity of boy-girl fraternal twins is important. (You can tell they are twins because their costumes match.) Costumes and lighting are excellent, also. Props and sets are spare - very Elizabethan - but very effective. Audience was about 150 casually-dressed patrons - there are plenty more seats. This open-air amphitheater puts everyone just a few rows from the stage, and has really comfortable seats. Bring a cushion if you must, but you aren't likely to need one. There's a no-alcohol snack bar at intermission, where the highest price is $1. Before the show, bring your picnic stuff and spread out on the lawn outside the theater, under the trees. Free parking will be just a few steps away. And, at 7:30 PM, while you're finishing your picnic, you will get a wild and crazy Greens Show at no extra charge, which will also leave you laughing. Best of all, there are bargain tickets ($18?) available at Goldstar! If this sounds too good to be true, it almost is. My honest advice: Don't miss this! Go by yourself, or bring friends. Super summer entertainment.

The company performs in an outdoor theater in the historic district of Garden Grove. Because it is outdoors there can be distracting noises such as fire trucks, people yelling in the park, and car alarms. There are plenty of restaurants in the area to grab a bite at before the performance and plenty of free street parking. Tickets run $32 for shows Thus-Sat. I think this is high for a local summer troupe and I would never pay that (I'm cheap). Fortunately, on Thursday's you can buy your tickets at the door at the price of your choosing (min. $1). Worth a fun "pay what you want" Thursday evening with dinner before or drinks after the show. The actors seem to enjoy themselves as does the audience.

We opted for a loveseat however this is actually a sofa for 4 so prepare to snuggle with another couple. The concert was supposed to be 'candle light' but the stage lights were super bright and not very ambient which kind of took away from the atmosphere. There is a bar inside and outside of the theater room which is convenient however the bar inside the theater room started their dishwasher half way through the show which was super distracting on top of people dropping keys and phones on the hardwood floor wood floor constantly which was upper loud. Lastly I really with there was a dress code for these types of events, watching a sting quarter with people in hoodies, sweaters and seats just takes away from the overall ambiance in my opinion but this is a personal preference.

Everyone but drunks will love Circus Vargas…read more They don't serve beer, and there were NO animals, which is okay considering a) the animals usually seem depressed, beaten, or sick; and b) there was considerably less animal feces smell. Basically it was all Stupid Human Tricks. Half of it was the kind of stuff you'd see on the Venice Boardwalk, but here you didn't have to avoid eye contact or run away when the collection bucket came around. The acrobatics in the sky weren't too amazing for adults (basic stuff, especially considering what the kind of flips I myself can do in Tekken 3), but the surprise twist on the classic motorcycle ball was exciting, and the gymnastic work showed so much stamina and strength (both in solo artists and the group of pirates who became a reverse human pyramid) it made you think "Whoa, I could never do that!" and "Ouch!" The guy balancing things on his chin was pretty cool, and the most thrilling was the guy in the rotating hamster wheel thing. He ate his babies, too, which was weird. (not really) I think the most applause went to the Asian dude who looked like the guy who electrocutes Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon I. He did this crazy spinning clickety-clacky percussion thing with highspeed clacker balls, and was inches away from being a featured Americas Funniest Home Nutcracks. Thankfully there weren't a bunch of annoying clowns- just one, a silent one with a whistle, who did a few acts with audience participation. His acts were crowd-pleasing. And by crowd pleasing I mean there were no bony elephants coughing on us. By the way, Bony Elephants Coughing are playing Coachella 2017. Anyway, nothing was really lame, although the six bulging (in more ways than one) pirates made me uncomfortable because they chased one girl around making me think, "University of Virginia: the Musical". I thought the production values were pretty cool, particularly the Candyman in Glasses ringmaster who retreated to a Sheila E type percussion module, technically never leaving stage. For the price of a 3D movie, I think it's a really good value, and you don't need the glasses. A bonus was the chance to pose with a big boa snake at intermission for $10 (you buy one AND you can take your own). Or for $5 you can pose with me- basically the same thing.

The theater is quite small and the seating is not highly raked. It almost has a caberet, connect with your fellow audience members, feel to it. Wonderful addition to Orange County's vibrant Live Theater scene. We saw a Sunday afternoon production of the Gertrude Stein work, leaving at about 4PM. Almost all the places to eat were closed or only serving drinks and macaroni and cheese for the next hour. Not the theater's fault, by all means. Just, t'would be nice if the restaurants were aware of the gem next door and feeding the theater patrons. *Wistful sigh* A YELPer can dream, can't she?

Munsters vs. The Addams Family is a themed burlesque show put on by the Yost Theatre in Santa Ana…read more The show itself was an hour and a half in length and featured 8 girls of various shapes and sizes. The show was filled with humorous jokes and quips between performers. The show started with an aerial act on silks which was cool to see in person but looked flawed in parts. The girl seemed to struggle a bit but did a good job overall. After the aerial act it went straight into the performances. Each performer portrayed a different character from either The Addams Family or Munsters universe and each did a good job. Would have been cool to see Uncle Fester (portrayed by a female of course) but it was not in the cards on this night. All of the performer did a great job and really had the audience interested throughout. They had a brief 20 minute intermission and a costume contest also mixed into the show. I had a good time and would definitely go to a themed show again down the line.
