This Sainsbury's store in Winchester town centre is always busy. There is hardly enough people on the tills and the aisle are very small and the workers in the store, just tend to leave their work benches or stock in the middle of the aisle blocking access for people to move around it. The stock of food is very limited and I feel sorry for the people who want to buy GM free food as for there is hardly any choices to choose from. read more

Notoriously overcrowded and usually featuring a beggar at the entrance. Long queues that are difficult to navigate around when you're still trying to go through the isles. However, it's a supermarket in the town centre and that is a good thing to have so workers don't have to depend on expensive food outlets. read more

This is a nice little Sainsburys store in the bottom of the Winchester town centre. The product range is rather limited, so don't expect a great range or products. They don't sell much gluten free products, so best bet is to visit the larger Sainsbury's store in Badger Farm. There is a bus stop just outside this Sainsbury's store which can take you directly there. Its always very busy in there and hardly much till workers on the tills. The aisles are rather compacted and could be more spread out. The customer service is very poor and needs improving. Overall its the closest food store in town, so if you don't go there or the store in badger farm, there isn't much supermarkets that you can go to in Winchester. This store is staffed by people who are over-worked and under-appreciated; who are always under ridiculous amounts of pressure to get many tasks done simultaneously; who have to try and compensate for the fact that there are never enough people to cope with the heavy flow of customers and workload; and who are constantly on the edge of their patience with Winchester people who seem to be a strange juxtopostion between snobby over privileged folk who talk down to the staff as if they are peasants, and homeless vagabond drunks and junkies who are constantly attempting to nick stuff or causing a scene with the till staff because they have been challenged over ID or the fact thay are plainly already drunk! I would recommend that the next time you visit there try treating the staff like human beings who are very stressed and very tired because of the unreasonable demands being put upon them by management, rather than treating them as if they are your personal slaves who are to blame for every price increase and every policy decision made by the company or indeed the government itself! read more
