This ALdi is bigget than most and is well located with various retail shops near by - although they are mainly electirucal and clothing as opposed to food The store in my experience always has full shelves, in fact on bread it is normally so well stacked they run out of room to place it all The fruit is fresh as are the cheeses. I have seen them run out of milk before, and also noticed that the date on one bottle was use by tomorrow - not ideal No major queues at the till, and the staff have always been polite , efficient and helpful to me. Good store with good products at good prices. I would suggest this is one of the best stores to get ones foods, and of all the ALDIs I have been too this would be my personal choice and recommendation to use read more

With currently not having a lot of income and the disgusting prices food has risen to recently, I decided to take a trip to Aldi recently and see if I could save a little on my usual weekly shopping. Aldi was founded in 1946 but the first branches opened in the United Kingdom back at the end of the 80s. A lot of the products originate from Germany. The store's interior was rather shabby looking and I#d wondered if I'd made the right choice but it was also very quiet. It was a lot easier to go about my shopping without crowds of people in the way everywhere. The items have a basic layout - usually stacked in cardboard boxes in aisles bar the fridge and freezer items and fruit. But it was fairly easy to find what I wanted but I bought everything I normally would from the major supermarkets [as well as a few extras] and spent £10 or so less which was nice. Aldi offers a lot of own brand alternatives to common food items like cereals and crisps often at a much cheaper price and they do taste quite similar as well. However I did find that on some items they were a lot poorer than the bigger supermarkets. Things such as toilet roll were quite expensive and you didn't get half as many rolls as you would for a much better price at somewhere like Asda. I also noticed that they don't really have a great deal of variety. A lot of items you'd normally expect to find in a supermarket such as lemon curd or jam to name a few were not stocked and whilst you can easily knock quite a lot of your weekly shopping bill, it still means a trip down to Asda or Tescos to get a few extras. The staff were all very friendly both around the store and at the checkout and the store has a nice bright and feel good vibe to it in general. My only complaint would be the lack of plastic bags or suitable storage containers for the food. We had to rely heavily on cardboard boxes that weren't very big and eventually had to pile most of the food back into the trolley and then bit by bit in the back of the car and out again at the other end. However I would definately reccomend Aldi for anybody who would like to save a bit of money on their shopping though I wouldn't personally shop there every week I still think out of the discount supermarkets I've tried such as Lidel or Netto I definately felt I got the best value for money here. Very good shop. A good variety of stuff, very pleasantly surprised at the quality and price. Some of the 'one off' non food items are really good value. Easy to get to with good parking. Always seems to be busy so they are doing something right. Staff are rushed off their feet and I reckon they must have the fastest checkout staff in Fareham, even with that be prepared to queue when its busy. read more

I like the prices, and the quality is pretty good too. Very rarely go to the better known supermarkets these days. The variety of groceries is excellent and I have even found things here that I have never seen at the bigger players. I like the thursday and sunday specials, I have bought some serious pieces of kit from these, including a portable compressor and numerous other power tools. The staff are always helpful and polite. They always seem to be doing 2 or 3 jobs at a time, but I think this is down to Aldi wanting to keep their prices low. read more

2 Months guarantee only on non food items!!!! Purchased two baby gates. Both failed after about 4 months. Took them back to Ali fareham with receipt. Staff refused to take it back stating returns accepted only within 60 days and I should contact manufacturer. Better to buy non food items from other retailers who give you 1 to 2 years guarantees. read more

i dont regurly visit aldi but if im up st georges retail park i will drop in. the store itself is quite large but seems to be getting taken over by none food items such as tvs d i y goods. its not to clean looking really so not a place i could do my main shop. in saying all of that the fresh fruit is great and a bargin price. but the thing i hate most about the store is the tills they hardly ever have more than 1 open and you have to que. read more

Good old super cheap Aldi. The quality of the food is good if you don't mind a few obscure labels in your fridge. I get my basics here, but struggle to find specific items, for example, fajita seasoning. They do 6 different fruit and vegatables every month for 49p, and this always makes my shopping cheap and encouranges me to try new things. Aldi also do a variety of other 'things'-from sinks to exercise equiptment to toys and clothes. It's a bit of a mixed bag. Parking is free for an hour and a half, and if you park for longer you WILL get a parking ticket. The entrance/exit is covered by a number plate recognition system, and if you stay too long you automatically get a parking ticket-this includes blue badge holders and motorcycles!! Aldi do not supply bags so it is advised that you take your own, as they charge 3p each for their basic plastic carriers. The staff are generally helpfull, but WILL scan your shopping at light speed, so you need to have your bags open and ready, or be prepared to re-pack. Also worth noting that Aldi only accept debit cards and cash - NOT credit cards. read more

I have only shopped here twice, the first time because I was desperate and my local Aldi had no stock of something in particular. The second time I almost didn`t go in as there was a blood stain on the floor outside the entrance as minutes before there was a fight and the police had to cart this fellow off for being violent. Obviously they priced their already cheap vegetables wrongly. In honesty the problem with this store in particular (not the Aldi brand) is that it`s in the area that unfortunately attracts a lot of undesirables. Personally I prefer my local store. read more

Situated on the outskirts of Fareham heading towards Titchfield (close to the fire station/train station roundabout). This is a good store for a few items, I would struggle to do a whole weekly shop in store, but can find essentials like bread, tins, chilled meat, drinks. It doesnt tend to sell high street brands, but at the prices its definately worth trying some of their stocked brands - I have found that I can sometimes prefer their product to other well known items. Its definately worth a browse, but beware I think the parking is limited to 90 minutes - but please check (large signs in car park). read more

I work for them so heres the low down on them, and i have worked in several aldi stores and its the same in all of them. They leave frozen and chilled delivery out in the open for hours while they work it, and when they have finished the delivery they put the defrosted or warm products back into the freezer or chiller. You don't get all of your breaks, alot of the times you dont get a break, and if you do get a break and the store gets busy they make you sit on the till. The management talk to you like your a piece of shit, they act friendly to your face but they slag you off behind your back, they have slagged off other staff members to my face and i am just a store assistant so what does that tell you about the people who work there and the company itself. They dont pay you correctly, when they ask you to stay behind when your shift has finished, call you in early or ask you to come in on your day off, they dont put your extra hours down on the computer, they forget to do it so their prod looks better, if you ask to see the hours you have done they will try to put it off or they will show you, put your hours on, then when you have gone out of the office they will take the hours off. When your on the tills you have to work out the change for the customer in your head even though the till can work it out for you, yet they expect your till to be spot on when they cash you up. They make you work 11 to 15 hour shifts then expect you to start work at 6am the next morning. The area managers turn a blind eye to all these things, they are not stupid they choose not to do anything about it. and if you go to them with a problem about someone especially if they are management, they wont believe you, they will always take the side of the management. They are not big on health and safety, and the safety of the staff dont cross the managements minds. If your injured and you cant work they wont believe you and will slag you off, they dont care for your wellbeing. They expect you to be in the store 15 mins before your shift starts and to work straight away yet they wont pay you for it, then when you finish your shift at 8PM or 9 pm when the store closes they expect you to clean the store, the tills and staffroom and to be out by 9.15 pm the latest, but if you get out of the store by 9.30 pm they will only pay you till 9pm, the only way they will pay you when you work past 9pm is when you get out of the store by 9.45 or later. The management expect you to do nothing on your day off, not to have a life and to sit by the phone waiting for them to call you for extra hours, once you get your hours for the week, you like millions of other workers may actually make plans on your days off or when you finish work, and when the management ask you to do extra hours and you say no as you have made plans to do something they will be pissed off with you, they wont see your side of it, so when it comes to working bank holidays which is double pay, they wont put you down to work it and they will make you work all your shifts for the week until the store closes. so if you have a wife, girlfriend or you have someone who relies on you, expect your relationship to suffer, They put everyone who works in the store apart from the assistant manager and store manager, on a basic hours on their contracts, some are contracted to a minimum of 6 hours, some are on a minimum of 18 hours, so anything you do above this you will be thankful for, so say for example you are contracted to 18 hours and one week they make you work 25 hours, the next week they will give you 11 hours or less and will say as you did 25 hours that week it works out the same, yet the extra hours you do is overtime so how they work out that they can give you less hours thats on your contract i dont know. when you are on the till you have to scan the products really fast as they monitor your speed and you have to hit speed targets which have been set, i once was serving a customer who only has the use of one arm, she didnt buy too much for herself so i thought i would pack the shopping for her, but when i did this and she walked off a member of management told me off, this person said i should't have done that, even when i explained that the customer only had the use of one arm this didnt make a difference, so if your disabled or old and you struggle to put the shopping into your trolly fast enough or struggle to put your shopping into your shopping bag, bottom line is aldi dont care read more
