Residents of Partick are lucky to have a choice of three medium-sized supermarkets to choose from - Morrisons, Marks & Spencers and Sainsburys. My preferred choice is usually Morrisons, being the cheapest of the lot.
Sainsburys is in the middle. It is much more spacious than Morrisons, especially down the aisles, and the checkout queues are normally shorter. There also seems to be a wider choice of food, but I just can't really bring myself to accept some of the prices, such as nearly four quid for a packet of four chicken fillets, when Morrisons offer two packs for £3.
Another good point about Sainsburys is its large car park, which is far less complicated than the maze that is the Morrisons car park. Unlike the latter, Sainsburys customers just enter and exit from the same road, resulting in far less congestion than at its competitors' place.
There is a lot of good points about Sainsburys overall - the shorter queues and more spacious layout probably make it a better choice than Morrisons for many people. Just a pity it's so damn expensive. read more
