Imagine my shock and horror when I get home to make my quinoa-based Asian fusion dish only to find the quinoa supplies are all but gone. Luckily, Sainsbury's being very close to home, saved my evening entirely. As soon as you walk through the door you are usually greeted by a rather charming fellow dressed in orange. At this point, your journey has just begun. You'll begin with the fruit and vegetable isle handily in front of you. The selections of cucumbers are particularly delightful. Passed the pie's, ready food and ample supplied meat section, you'll reach the real magic of the store, the cheese. It has more selection and variety than when I went on holiday to Bordeaux in 1992. Each subsequent isle is perfectly laid out, as you might expect from any great convenience store. Finally, I come across the item I finally seek. A majestic bag of quinoa. Now I make my escape, pay with the lovely check-out staff, and leave as swiftly as I entered. read more
