And if you spend £25 or more, you can get home delivery, which from this store is quite good, as you can't park your car directly outside, the car park is a good few minutes away. This also means if you don't get it delivered, you have to take the trolley to the car park and then bring the trolley back to get your £1 coin back, so the free delivery is great. Using your bonus card (you need to use this for free delivery too) you can get money off vouchers and it also enters you into competitions (not that I've ever won anything!)

It's got a huge range of items, although no adult clothing (other than underwear) or much in the way of electronics/media/toys, unlike even bigger stores. For groceries, though, it's got a lot to offer. Fruit and veg are of good quality and usually well-stocked. The deli and fresh fish counters offer a lot of choice, and they even have a large 'Polish food' section. They have two 'car trolleys' which amuse small (and big) kids greatly, and make the shopping trip easier with children who are too big for the trolley seats but too small to walk all the way around without whining. It's not a huge store, but helpfully it's open 24 hours a day, although you do have to fight your way round the shelf stackers at night. Generally it's pretty well stocked, apart from the odd days around the major holidays where you can find the shelves dreadfully empty. There's a pharmacy, which I've never used, a Tesco Direct counter which works just as it should. The photo shop is always having their machine break down but when it's running the service is actually very good. A word of warning, there's a café tucked away upstairs at the far right of the shop, very easy to miss. I would definitely give it a miss, the breakfast is truly disgusting, and the coffee machine seems to be out of order whenever I go there. It's clean and tidy though.

It was the Kayser Bondor until the 1980's when it was bought by Tesco. Kayser Bondor made ladies stockings - but switched to making parachutes during World War II. Wish that we had selection like this in the USA!!!!

As it is an Extra, it stocks everything from TV's to toothpaste, so everything you need is under one roof. The car park is large (and needs to be as it does get busy), and the store also contains a petrol garage.

If you are used to shopping in London then you might be a bit freaked out by how friendly they are. The food and deli are all standard. There is a McDonalds restaurant built in to the store and there is a seperate George across the square which is well stocked and worth a visit. I love this supermarket.
