Our boat trip was amazing. From the beginning Jessica was super responsive and easy to talk to before booking. After we booked she sent over all the details which made everything so smooth the day of the trip. The Captain, Micheal, was very nice, respectful and most of all very patient with our little one. Fun three hours on the Hudson with Captain Dan and Captain Kevin. Were so pleased that Jessica - the owner - could fit us in, as this was a last-minute decision for us, since our sailing club cancelled that day's sailing sessions due to high winds. But winds were no problem for the Sailing Islander. What a gorgeous and competent sailboat. It is 35-feet of pure pleasure, outside and inside. We opted for a hands-on sail, so my wife and I did most of the skippering this day. Starting at lower Manhattan we sailed up the Hudson - against the current and the wind that day. Was an enjoyable challenge, and once we harnessed the wind, we were off. Heeling in 13-to-20 knot winds, while sailing along the sun-splashed NYC shore and skyline (Jersey City, Hoboken and Weehawken's too) on an 84-degree day couldn't have been more enjoyable. Our 21-year-old daughter came along for the ride too, and had a wonderful time. The Caps were fun to talk with. Touched on many sailing subjects, and they took over when we were ready to sit back, uncork a bottle of wine and take in the scenery. Already put Jessica's info in my contact list in case we get cancelled again this summer. Wouldn't hesitate to hop aboard the Sailing Islander again. read more

We were running a little late but our Captain Krista was helpful with getting us in the right place for parking passes and getting to the beautiful vessel. The water was kind of choppy but she made sure to warn us of waves which were fun. The boat was clean and there was sanitizer and clean utensils available. We needed a break from all of the craziness in NYC lately... to just be away and relax in the fresh air. I can't begin to describe what a pleasure it was to sail around NY Harbor aboard our own private sailboat. Islander and her crew were exactly what we needed right now. Everything was just easy. The boat is sparkling new. I've been on the Staten Island Ferry and some of the bigger tours over the years and that's fun. But sailing up close near the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island on your own beautiful sailboat enjoying food and cocktails with a private captain is just another level. The Islander people are really into the details. Booking was easy. And we were in such great hands with Captain Krista who is a real deal professional sailor and extremely nice person. Mike for our four-hour sail of the iconic NYC skyline and harbor sites we were completely at ease and delighted to be on the water. The exceptionally clean and sparkling sailboat is beautifully fitted out, with all the comforts one might need, expect and delight in. Nothing is more inspiring than sailing off the tip of Manhattan, the rebuilt World Trade Center glimmering in the sunlight, Governors Island green and rolling toward our port side as Islander sets course for the Statue of Liberty. We brought Champagne and a charcuterie board to enjoy from the bow's bean bag seat and let the world and the waves slip past us and the wind fill the sail above, all our cares released. read more

Had a great time sailing with Captain Krista. We went out had a small group of four, brought lunch and sailed NY harbor. Up the East River there was quite a bit of boat activity on Saturday, which Krista did a great job of managing, then down around the Statue of Liberty. Great to be out on the water, with a view of NYC. Nice boat, plenty of space, very professionally managed. Great experience recommend it highly! read more

My husband and I had a wonderful time on our 2 hour private sunset tour. You'd think that a boat tour in the NY harbour would be a tourist thing to do but we are locals and we quite enjoyed it. We used to travel all the time but in this pandemic, we'd been staying put and it's been a challenge to plan anything really. So it was great to be able to plan something in our own backyard and make it special. Our Captain was Krista and she was so professional and so kind. She's also a fantastic photographer! We loved how our photo came out. The team at Sailing Islander kept in touch with us because it was a rainy/cloudy day and there needed to be confirmation on whether it was a go or no go. We were at first disappointed that it was a go thinking we'd have to contend with clouds. But these folks know what they're doing because by the time we were out in the water, the skies cleared up while some clouds remained so it made for such a dramatic backdrop as the sun was setting; the views were incredible. It was so relaxing, to be able to be out there, breathing the fresh air, catching the cool breeze and simply marvel in the serenity. We highly recommend! read more
