Food was good, but service was strange and honestly openly hostile.
When we first arrived one server looked at us and just said NO. The next server quickly walked by and said "just one minute" and then seated us.
She insisted we order by the numbers which we had to correct several times while she was ordering. She got one order wrong and proceeded to yell at my student (a shocked teen) that he had ordered the wrong thing. She yelled at him enough where I said "fine, we'll pay for that, can you just bring him the correct order?"
When she went to correct the order, the other worked pointed and gesticulated at us yelling at her.
She brought the right order, we ate. Food was decent but not worth the abuse. We had to ask 3 times for the check. We had asked for separate checks when we sat down, which she agreed to. When I tried to pay for the mistaken order she insisted the student pay for it himself, which was just weird, and again mean. I gave him the money to cover it.
As we left the restaurant she pulled one of the teachers aside to say "we will never do separate checks for you again!!!!" ...um, then why did she agree to it? Plenty of restaurants say no but she had said yes.
While Dutch service is different, it's not known for being openly hostile. Another group from our school (young women) went and were not treated like this. But it was strange and mean. When does a grown woman yell at a teenage customer over and over? Who does that?
Never going there again, and there is much better Vietnamese food close to the station. Run, don't walk. read more
