Came to Sai Yakitori again but this time for their happy hour. I went on a Tuesday and they had $1 yakitori skewers plus $5 draft beers or $18 pitchers. Everything was made to order and came out hot off the grill. I especially loved the chicken thigh with scallion.

Wanted to check this place out for dinner, definitely a vibe. The interior is very nice. My servers and the grill master were pretty accommodating and friendly. But it's definitely more of a drinking place. Also, they don't have the egg anymore.

a new place that opened down the street from my favorite bar. it may be replacing it because the food here is more my taste and style. all the meat skewers were delicious and packed with flavor but my favorites would have to be the pork n mushroom, pork n tomato, and the chicken heart. each one was so juicy and had slightly different tastes i loved all except maybe the regular chicken had the least amount of flavor compared to the others, was still good though! I also ordered 2 asahi beers from tap. i love when restaurants chill their glasses but on top of that the beer was ice cold. the employees were kind and helpful. i think this place is going to do well once more people find out about it!

I'm not sure what gave me that impression, but he had a kind aura and (I'm pregnant) and he was asking how I liked the food and was this a pleasant experience. I gave him my finest compliment as there are several options to fill my cravings without eating raw fish! Overall, I would recommend everyone to visit. Plenty of specialty rolls and kitchen food! The spicy pork belly is delicious but it'll fill you up if you don't have a group with you. I think the best thing to do is to come with 4 or more who love to eat and everyone order in agreement and eat a little of every roll and kitchen food. It's just too much for 2 people. The servers are extremely helpful in suggesting what are their best dishes. But make sure you get the premium nigiri... the rest is just filler.

(Which I love by the way, more places in NOVA should be open later at night!) We ordered a Seafood Ramen and a Spicy Ramen. Both were scrumptious honestly. My friend's seafood ramen was super flavorful, and we requested something to make it extra spicy and they brought us chili oil which made it even better! I got the Spicy Ramen which was honestly perfect for my liking of heat and flavorful. The pork was also very nice and tender. I got a white peach beer here that I also enjoyed a lot! This place was the perfect vibe for a chill girls night. The server accidentally forgot to bring out my friends miso soup but they took it off our bill at the end so all good. I know this location is closing soon and I'm sad it took me this long to try it, but glad that I did.

Located in a small strip mall - this is on the corner and seems like it would be small based on the front facade, yet there was plenty of space inside - tables, and a bar to sit at. We ordered several appetizers: gyoza, buns, karaage, and takyoki. Buns was good - the meat was a little thin for my liking. Gyoza was standard and over fried and crispy. The takiyakk was good - standard. And the karaage was very good - tender white meat inside and the spicy mayo was a nice compliment. The ramen was also good - nothing over the top or trying to be anything it isn't. Just good solid ramen. Would recommend. And will return.

Came here with a large group of friends and we ate very well!! All the dishes were yummy, so can't complain. They were playing country music but we asked for it to be changed and they were very accommodating! BTW at night, the lighting in the restaurant is a bit dark and food looks very contrasted dark. There only seemed to be one or two waiters in the whole restaurant and we were checked up on maybe once after receiving our food, even though it was shockingly empty. The food itself was good, rosè tteokbokki was spicy and texture was perfect. Kimchi pancake was also crispy and had a good ratio of batter to kimchi, but it was pretty bland and definitely needed the sauce. Kkanpungi was decent as well as the buddaejiggae and prices were fair. Drink pictures may be misleading so make sure to look at the description! Anyways the whole experience felt like we were just eating in the dark with quiet background music. Don't expect anything for birthdays either. Anyways would go back for the food but extremely lacking ambiance wise.

The food at Sakaki is full of flavor and the prices are reasonable for the amount. I think, after being twice, that the AYCE is not as worth it for me personally because I'm not a big eater, but it's totally worth it if you want a lot of variety and you have a good appetite. I really liked the rolls in particular. The service was excellent- it was a nice balance of coming over once in a while to ask how we were doing without coming over too much. The vibes are awesome with a really nice interior- definitely a nice place to go for a date,!just to go with friends to have a nice meal, or even to grab a meal alone since the center has a large area for single seating. Fyi- for the AYCE menu, note that once you put in an order for a round, you can't order for another 10 min so be sure to order enough at a time. Also, there is a time limit to the AYCE (I think it was 90 min). This'll definitely be a place I go to regularly in the future!

Unfortunately, the restaurant staff wasn't particularly helpful or supportive in this endeavor. Asking for details on the menu and suggestions seemed like either a burden eliciting sighs and slight eyerolls or an inability to offer any meaningful suggestions; so, alas, we were left to ourselves. The space, at least on the first floor, is tiny - just counter bar seats in front of the kitchen in a narrow rectangular room. We were excited to use this as an opportunity to learn more by watching and interacting with the cooks, but that did not occur. Without guidance, we ordered hamachi, salmon, and kampachi sashimi. The portions were generous - 5 slices of each. The salmon was buttery and the kampachi fantastic - rich and interesting flavor. The hamachi was not liked - it was streaked with some sinewy type substance that didn't help the otherwise unflavorful fish. The soba noodles came with a rich, smoky/strong fish-flavored broth that was interesting. Unfortunately, there is no gluten-free option for the broth. The yakatori skewers (only ordered because they were the only gluten-free skewers) were nothing interesting. The wine list is quite small (understandable considering the tiny size of the restaurant) and the chilled red and the Italian rose were both quite good. The pricing was reasonable in general and considering the quality of the meal and the overall experience.

Food wise, i highly recommend the sweet shrimp and scallop sushi! The pieces melted like butter and tasted so creamy! The rice quantity is on the bigger side as well as the portions so be careful when ordering. The ramen was also a hit along with the aged tofu! Those were my top favorites!! Service was decent! Nothing over the top, our server checked in a few times, and the overall service wasn't too slow given the crowd. There is no dedicated parking lot so street parking is it for this area. However, we parked in a garage and it was about a 5-7 min walk so not bad if that's the route you want to go.
