Now they have their own storefront with a ton more options to customize your meal, and more options and things to order overall. The storefront is not huge, but I don't think it needs to be. It's clean and pretty well organized. The service is also fine. I ordered a combo rice bowl and was glad to be able to add extra toppings like tomatoes in the such. Now, the one thing that they don't do like the old truck used to do is load up with sauce. The old truck used to drown your bowl in sauce whereas now they're a little more conservative, but I imagine you could ask for more if you wanted more. The bowl itself tasted good. It's not going to be the best Halal food that you'll get in Davis or anywhere else in the world, but it tasted nostalgic, and I really enjoyed the whole thing. My husband who is currently on campus more than I am noted that the storefront gives you more food than the food truck at the silo. He also said that the food tasted better here.

The fries, on the other hand, were genuinely great. Parking lot is undersized for the number of businesses in the mall -- plan to arrive early or come by bike.

I got one chicken and one pork taco. I thought the chicken taco tasted really good. The chicken was flavorful. The pork was ok. The next day, I order two chicken tacos since I liked it so much the first time. The second time around, my tacos were ok. The chicken didn't taste the same as the first time. It was a little bland, not much flavor. I was a little disappointed. The fries I order the second day, was a little dark, over seasoned, and a little over cooked as well. Too salty. The food wasn't consistent.

I decided to try the lumpia and miso garlic chicken bowl. Lumpia: A- Lumpia is my favorite egg roll variety and the ones here are pretty good. It's topped with Sriracha Mayo, green onion, served with a side of sweet chili sauce. Solid use of Asian flavors. Miso garlic chicken: D+ This dish disappointed me. The flavor of the chicken was fine but there was so much sauce it ended up being a soggy mess. The photo and description gave me the impression it was going to be crispy. The coconut rice had a strong coconut flavor but was very mushy. Brussel sprouts were fine but on the bland side. Kimchi was decent. Hope to give this spot another try but will probably stick to the sliders and fries next time.

They have a rotating menu of hand-pies, so don't go with a specific one in mind. All the ones I've had are tasty, but for the price, I wish they were bigger. I usually need two to fill up. I do understand that a lot of this is likely due to the hefty booth fee the Market charges. The folks running it are very friendly. The last time I was there, I couldn't decide between the Mario (Italian sausage, marinara and mozzarella) and Luigi (cremini, pesto and mozzarella). Both were excellent, with flavorful filling and a flaky crust that also held up to the filling. The caramelized onion and Gruyère also sounded tempting. In the past I've had a mushroom and cheese pie, and some sort of chicken filling that I don't recall (not that it wasn't memorable -- it was just several years ago).

Their flavors change every week, and often are seasonal, but never fail to be unique and flavorful! They always have a couple savory and a couple sweet pie options, so my partner and I will get lunch and dessert in a one-stop trip! There is rarely a line, since the pie are premade and kept warm (or cold for some of the dessert pies), ready to be enjoyed! You just order, and they hand you the food, with little stamps on them to indicate the flavor. The workers are super friendly, and answer any questions you may have. Handheld operates out of quite possible the most adorable food-truck I've ever seen or ordered from, with a vintage, old-fashioned homemade delivery service vibes, and I was first drawn to the look of the truck way back before I even knew what the sold. But boy was I impressed once I read their menu and tried their food. They always have a couple vegetarian options, as well as a couple with meat, so there is something for everyone, and it's all worth it. Do yourself a favor, and stop by the next time you are at the farmers market in need of a snack or some lunch :)

They do a 2 taco combo for $8 as well. If you don't want a combo, you can opt for these items a la carte. Prices aren't listed on the menu for solo pupusas or tacos, but I ordered an extra pupusa and it added on $4 to my total, which is still hella good compared to other spots! If pupusas and tacos aren't your fancy, they do have burritos, quesadillas and tortas. Pupusas comes with curtido (pickled slaw) and salsa, both of which are hella good! They're made fresh to order, so there is about a 15-20 min wait, depending on how busy they are. What I loved about this spot is you can opt for any of the meats they have! Order the adobada and thank me later. The carne asada was okay, not as flavorful as i would have liked, and the revuelta was one of the best I've had. It's pretty soft in texture though (normal), so if you like things a little more meaty and less one dimensional in texture, maybe go with a more solid type of filling. They're parked in the 76 gas station, across from Sutter hospital. It's pretty in the cuts, from I80, but worth the little detour. It's easy to get back on the freeway though once you got the goods. They take Apple Pay, cash, and I'm pretty sure I saw a QR for Zelle or Venmo.
