I hadn't been there in over 4 years because of my last experience with the previous owner and his stupid rules. None of that! Servers and bartenders have always been friendly--and fast. They know their cocktails and they're remarkably consistent with the mixes. My old fashioneds tasted the same every time I've gone. Very limited menu, but it'll do the trick when you're in a rush (or if the Lumberbaron Bar has already closed its kitchen). I like the pizzas, especially the mushroom. Don't let the name fool you. It also comes covered with savory cubes of bacon and fresh greens. It's good! I also like the wide open layout. You never feel crowded. Great place to spread out for a cocktail and light bite.

But we took our chances and the manager was able to get us in! So glad he did. They have these types of tastings every month. December will be a champagne pairing. I definitely plan to come back for that! They did a beautiful presentation. We got to try three different scotches which were paired with delicious small plates of food. Afterwards, we went to the bar area and had a drink. The service here was impeccable. The food was delicious and the signature cocktails were delightful! The hotel itself is gorgeous and I was happy we got to experience it all decked out for Christmas!

The bar wasn't full yet, but there were a lot of drinks being ordered. I had never been here in its previous iteration - The Dark Room. Per my Mr the decor hasn't changed much. I found it to be cozy and intimate. I liked the vibe. The cocktail menu was really creative and I like the bows on the stems of the glasses. The drink options had a couple original creations - at least to us. He had The Ashtray - probably the best presentation for a cocktail we've seen in a long time. I had the Mo's Mojo and it was served in a stem glass with a bow! Both cocktails were delicious and we were very pleased with orders. Lela was friendly and did a great job - especially considering how busy she was. We will absolutely come back!

First visit is my last…read more Extremely disappointed. I rented a room and day membership for $51.00 What blew my mind is when I asked for a fresh towel, as mine was damp from the shower, I was informed it would a $1.00 more! I thought it was a joke as I've never had this happen before at any bathhouse. Sad but true, there policy is to charge an extra dollar for every towel exchanged. After spending 51.00 they want more! I found this very small minded. Additionally every tv was playing a 1980's vintage porno! One TV screen was frozen. Another in the sling room not working at all. With all the streaming options available today at least stream a current movie for the enjoyment of your patrons, not some throwback to the 1980.'s. Room was dirty and featured a tv with no remote so one could not adjust volume or channel. Sling room was pathetic. Owner obviously doesn't know how to hang a sling properly for the enjoyment of the guy in it. I did speak to the attendant about these concerns and unfortunately, he took it personally which I told him it was not intended to be. I just told him that for what they are charging and then providing it is definitely not worth it. Especially the fresh towel additional charge. The attendant was very polite and kind. I realized that it's not the attendant who makes the policy but the owner. Overall, I was very disappointed in this place. I feel bad for the people in Grand Rapids that this is the only outlet they have to meet others in a safe environment. Drive the three hours to Chicago or two hours to Detroit and visiting a real private men's club would be advisable. When compared to places like Steam Works, Club, Fort Lauderdale, and even Club Columbus, this place falls very short.
