Went out to eat for an early dinner on New Years Eve. It was a little hard to find as you can't see it from the street, but worth the visit. Great view of the waterfront and loved the interior decor and mix of contemporary and coastal design vibes. Excellent service from our initial SOS we can't find you phone call, manager/host/seating/server were all 5 starts! It's a hidden gem if you are visiting Elizabeth City, Intracoastal, or Camden NC. We ordered the Rockfish, Burger, dessert....all amazing! Omg!!! The duck sliders appetizer flew down from heaven....so delicious! A must order!!! We will be back!

Crab "cake" platter with a side salad (swap for fries). Not worth $32 for a side salad with two crab balls.

Had the crab cake platter for $32. What a disappointment. The cakes were balls. They were good. No sauce or anything with them. The corn bread was over cooked and had no flavor. It was good, but for what I got charged, I've had better. Go for the view and drinks.

The she crab soup was AMAZING!!! I am a REALTOR® and they also recently catered an Open House event for me. It was perfectly packaged, easy to serve. All the attendees enjoyed the salads and shrimp cocktails! Thank you Sagos and chef Danielle.

Had dinner at Sago's on the Water in Elizabeth City, and everything was perfect. The atmosphere was super welcoming, Amy and Raynita provided great service, and the owner was attentive to every detail. I had the shrimp and grits, crab cakes, skillet mac and cheese, and an espresso martini--all incredible. Perfect spot for a date night or a girls' night. Can't wait to come back this summer and enjoy the deck with live bands!

The owner Si is so charismatic. We met him our first visit having drinks at the bar. Wonderful ambiance, food and view. We then took my parents and family for dinner another evening and it was incredible then as well with an outstanding waitress by the name of Morgan.

My husband was kind enough to share a bite of his crab cake sandwich and it was phenomenal.

They have a huge event space that you can rent out for anything, and it faces out onto the water which was a gorgeous view. I also did personal training here with Sierra Meacham and for anyone looking for a personal trainer but doesn't know where to start, like I was, I highly HIGHLY recommend reaching out to Sierra even just for a talk. She helped me personal train and helped me understand meal prepping and what to look for in my foods and what I need nutrients-wise for my goal as well as my weight goals! She kept pushing me to my PRs are farther:) She is so understanding and takes every problem I had whether it was with meal-prepping or weight-lifting posture hesitancies and how to overcome. I highly recommend her but definitely reach out and check in with her! She can book up quickly because of how awesome and thorough she is with her clients!! She can also guide you through the different rooms in Riverview such as the redlight therapy and saunas and what not and the importance of them on the body physically and mentally. They also have networking nights and people with different small businesses or want to get out there with the public and socialize I highly recommend checking in when the next night is and go... it's a lot of fun 100/10 recommend!! #personaltraining #mealprep #she'llsetyoustraight! #networking

The size and caliber of the displays immediately establish that this is not a little local collection but rather a well designed area that reflects the richness and complexity of the history of northeastern North Carolina. Despite my short time today, I was amazed by the depth of the exhibits, which cover centuries of local history, from colonial colonization and Indigenous cultures to maritime heritage and contemporary municipal development. The museum's layout is expansive, with high ceilings and spacious galleries that invite deeper exploration. It's the kind of place where you could easily spend several hours and still feel like there's more to uncover. [Review 887 of 2025 - 4309 in North Carolina - 24444 overall]

The museum has a ramp or stairs in the front to get to the entrance. The museum is large and is on two levels and covers all 13 of the Albemarle counties. (Northampton; Hertford; Dare; Bertie; Gates; Perquimans; Chowan; Pasquotank; Camden; Currituck; Washington; Tyrell; and Hyde), pretty much all of the northeast corner of the state. You can take the stairs up to the second level for a better look at the shad boat and quilts or use the elevator. Restrooms are located on both levels. The first floor had some traveling exhibits and the gift shop. The second floor had the permanent exhibits with the history of the area. I liked that the museum covered so many topics from the beginning to different periods of time from when Native Americans were in the region to the slavery and the Underground Railroad, Railroads; Automobiles; Firefighting; Farming; the World Wars and the Civil War; Civil Rights; the Vietnam War; the Coast Guard; different industries and tourism. The museum has many artifacts and information boards to read. The waterfowl exhibit with the bird decoys was great and showed the details of the carvings. The floating theatre inspired Show Boat. Hannah Crafts was inspiring. This museum showcases the importance of the Albemarle Sound and the region and they did a great job of preserving history and stories for future generations. I highly recommend visiting this wonderful museum.
