    Cost of prescription

I was told the antibiotic medicine I got prescribed on 5/8/2026 (only 5 days 10 dose supply) at the clinic will last till I got the online pharmacy refill, however they didn't approve my online prescription request until 5 days later. I request on 5/9/2026 and they don't approve until 5/13/2026, I didn't receive the medicine until 5/15/2026 and had to pay for expedited shipping. The cost of the medicine is almost three times more from clinic. The chewy online pharmacy is only $33.62 while they charge $105.46 for the exact same bottle. Due to this medicine is antibiotic to prevent developing of resistance towards the antibiotic, I had to drove out midnight for an hour to their clinic and spent another $105.46 for one bottle of the same antibiotic that would cost me only $33.62. I feel I should get reimbursed for that additional cost that could have bought two more bottles. It's already not easy and expensive to treat you fur babies with cancer, the clinic is making huge profit on their prescriptions. Please ask the doctor and utilize online pet pharmacy's like Chewy, Costco, Wedgewood..... etc.

    * We rushed our dog to Sage Emergency in Dublin after he choked on a dental treat that got stuck. The X-rays showed that it was lodged at the junction between his esophagus and stomach. Dr. Beth Lieblick assessed everything quickly and chose the least invasive option first. After anesthesia, she was able to push the blockage down into his stomach so he could digest it naturally instead of going straight to a major surgery. Our dog stayed overnight for monitoring and came home the next morning safe and stable. Communication was clear the entire time, and the team was professional, calm, and genuinely kind during a very stressful situation. * In terms of cost, this is emergency care, so it is expensive. The initial diagnostic alone was around 1300 dollars. With bloodwork, X rays, anesthesia, the procedure, overnight monitoring, and medications, the estimate initially went up to 14000 dollars. The final total ended up being about 6600 dollars after adjustments. Even knowing emergency care costs more, it is still a financial shock when you are facing a possible life threatening situation for a family member. * We are giving 4 stars. The doctor and team absolutely deserve recognition for their professionalism and friendliness. The only reason we are taking off one star is the price. While we understand emergency care is costly, the numbers can feel overwhelming. Our advice is to get pet insurance if possible. If a bill in the thousands or potentially over ten thousand would be difficult, it is worth researching emergency options ahead of time. For us, what mattered most is that our family member came home safe.

My girl dog was sick when I came back from a San Diego trip... We took her not knowing it was a one way trip. The vet student from NY was cool. My vet was too standoffish which was not good but the young man from NY (I am from NY) made up for it. Price is price and I knew it was a one way trip we tried to see if it was possible...I was given my options after my girl's evaluation was not good. I gladly paid for it as it was a fair price to pay for my girl and her cremation and such. I wish there was more selection regarding urns...The few they had were hideous. Still, I like that they were brass. I have a similar one for my Akita but much more attractive and ornamented. It was a rough day. The staff up front was nice all through out... One note, that vet student when I asked gave me a nice jar for a cut of my girl's hair...I used to call it chicken spots since she was a blue healer mix. I have a small cut of her hair in that jar and hold it lovingly still. That saved the review for Sage from being a 3 to a 5...That young man made it more personal and that jar a huge life long memento of my girl Allie...Thank you young man and do not lose that bed side manner.

My dog is fine and I know it has to do with the experience and care he received from the Staff at TVAEC.

I honestly dont know where to begin, but if i could give them 10 stars i would!…read more Brought my dog in today because she was in labor and her first puppy got stuck. As soon as i walked in they got my dog assessed and immediately started helping her get the puppy out. Unfortunately that puppy did not make it but they helped us as fast as they could. Then we discussed further treatment to get the other puppy out safely, she was quickly taken back for xrays to determine placement of puppy #2. Almost immediately after bringing her back out puppy #2 popped out. They immediately started attending to the puppy and helped out of its sack and getting him to nurse on mom. I would also like to add that during this whole emergency my two young children were with me and they were given snacks and tended to while i stood by my dog. This was more than i could have even asked for. The entire staff was friendly, informative, compassionate and helped in any was they could. And after all that i was charged a meer $300 and some change. I was terrified i was going to be facing a $6000+ bill and not once during the process did they demand payment, only asking me to approve one estimate which i didnt even end up paying the whole estimate. If we ever have another pet emergency this will be our first stop. And i just want to thank all the staff again for being absolutely amazing to our family and our fur baby!!!

This is the worst vet emergency hospital and I never leave bad reviews…read more Rather than trying to fix, diagnose, or treat your animal to health, they propose euthanasia as the easiest option. This is my second experience where first they wanted to put down my 1 year old kitty who was having urinary problems. I kept asking why they weren't starting him on antibiotics? I asked why are they compounding with stronger pain meds? Obviously his condition is getting worse if you're only treating the symptoms and not the cause. It was almost like they were setting him up for failure (death). They didn't care or listen when I told them I was a Pharmacist and had better recommendations on medication choices. I kept taking him every other day as his condition was worsening and they only kept adding stronger pain meds without identifying and treating the root of the problem. It made my parents sick to hear their suggestion of putting my cat down on the third visit. They didn't have the heart to even tell me that. So, my mom called all of her friends and found a "hero vet" who saved my cat's life. He actually DID start antibiotics and other meds to help with urinary flow and some pain meds to keep him comfortable. He also recommended a wet urinary diet and Calm Probiotics to be mixed in his wet food. We kept him on the meds for a month and he continues to eat his urinary diet. My baby is a healthy 4 year old now. I can't stand the horrific practices at VEG San Ramon. And now just the other day, they put down my friend's cat who was only 6 years old. Again, they couldn't diagnose or identify the problem so they suggested euthanasia. I feel there's a huge conflict of interest in their treatment of our sick pets and their push to get mildly sick pets euthanized and then cremated. This is sadly a scam business. I was so happy when they first opened because I felt a sense of relief having a 24/7 emergency vet nearby. Little did I know their ruthless practices would bring so much pain to pets and their parents. Please don't trust them with the health and wellbeing of your fur babies.

My Dogs vet was unavailable and I reluctantly went to Sage to have her eye looked at as she was not…read moreacting right with one eye and from previous experience of how quickly a dogs eye can go to nothing if not treated as the case with a previous dog. Best thing that ever happened was going to Sage as pepper got the care she needed by Vet- Lindsay Swirble. She is the only vet we have gone to in Bay Area that actually has experience with pugs. Dr. Linsey Swirble saved my dog (pepper)with her caring, throughness and experience. My dogs vet would not of even had the required equipment in their office or experience that she had a foxtail (1 inch) lodged behind her eye. She examined my dog with such care even putting dye and a black light to check for laceration. My previous pug lost his eye because a laceration was missed from a bad examination until I took him to an eye specialist a week later who said it was too late and it could of been fixed if diagnosed sooner. If I had taken that dog to Dr. Linsey Swirble at sage I know he would of also had his eye today as my dear pepper . I will drive 2 hours to see her from now on just to get the right care. I have had many dogs and vets over the years and this doctor is the best. She treated my dog like she was her own child. If you think its expensive to get ER care it was not. It was about $60 more then regular vet visit but it got fixed right away, correctly. My dogs eye is worth far more than $60. They have equipment that regular clinics do not and have the best veterinarian in Bay Area Dr. Lindsay Swirble. My only regret was not taking my previous dog there who did lose his eye by 2 regular vet visits that charged and misdiagnosed when I know Dr. Swirble would of known how to fix him the first time by her thoroughness and caring before that dog lost an eye. If you are in doubt if the cost will be too much or the care is any good don't hesitate. Dr. Swirble is amazing and I will go when she is working to make sure my dogs are in good hands. Take your dog there. Also, there was an ophthalmologist in house Dr. Tomo wiggans who was fantastic and together fixed my little pepper

They worked up an estimate that was quite large. The estimate had a low end and high end numbers. Veronica sat with me and explained each charge along with how and when it may apply. We played around with the numbers to help us fit it within an easier budget. Veronica was very thorough, patient and informative. My baby was sick so we had to do something. I left my pet with them to be treated while hospitalized. Unfortunately, I did not know exactly how sick she was. Within a matter of a short period, diagnostics came in with not so good news that left us with two options. Neither of which I was prepared for. After hearing the extent of my babies sickness, it was evident we needed to set her free. As painful as those words and that decision was, it had to be done. We drove back to that hospital to be with our baby. Sage has a special room just for the letting go process. Although we were not ready to say goodbye, we appreciated the quick return on labs and such, that gave us the answers needed to make the right decision for our girl. If you have been trying and struggling to piecemeal answers for your ill pet, I'd suggest going to this one stop shop. They have the doctors, staff, equipment and specialists on hand to get you the answers your pet and your family deserves. We love you Tabitha and miss you greatly. You were a very special, sweet, loving pup that contributed so much to everyone you met.
