I don't understand why pupillary distance is not part of the prescription that the doctor gives you to begin with. Why is it something I have to ask someone else for? After my appointment, the lady who rang me up said I could ask the people in the optical shop to measure my pupillary distance before I left. So, I asked the man in the optical shop if he would measure my pupillary distance, and he said "Any optical shop can do that for you when you buy glasses." I replied that I would be ordering online, and he got instant huffy, telling me that "we usually charge extra for this, but WHATEVER" and he seemingly angrily scrounged the tool out of the drawer. He came over and measured, I handed him my prescription, he filled in PD on the form, and as he was handing it back said "good luck with *that* prescription online" as if I would have trouble getting it filled and I was stupid for trying. I didn't say anything, and left, but that man's terrible attitude has solidified that I will *never* get glasses in the optical shop there. If you can't be kind when I'm asking you to complete my prescription (don't know why we're holding it hostage to begin with) then I *know* you won't manage kindness when I'm telling you for the 1000th time that these overpriced glasses I don't even like still don't feel right. It's terrible customer service and just plain rudeness like that that made me leave my last eye doctor, and I'm not above leaving this eye doctor for the same reason. So I guess I've got some thinking to do over the next year... The exam seemed to go fine. I felt semi-heard when I expressed concerns about getting the same prescription again when I already can't see properly with it...but still walked out with a prescription that I feel is not accurate, and that causes me to squint to be able to see things clearly when they're 5 feet from my face because I was told either I needed to settle or I need to get a completely different kind of contact lens. So after wasting my insurance allotment plus another $200, I may get a second opinion elsewhere.

I ordered another pair at that same time that fit fine. The service seems pretty okay, I guess, but no matter how many times I have had this one pair of glasses, they just don't fit. I will go somewhere else to buy another pair. I had high hopes, but it seems like no matter where you go for glasses or how much you spend, they're all made in China and they are cheap crap anymore. The way glasses places seem to work, not just here, feels like a massive scam. It's not the folk that work here, I guess, it's just the product they sell. One year ago I obtained glass lenses in southern CA for $179 while providing my own frames. It took 1 week. Today I picked up an updated prescription here of glass lenses in my frames for $250 insurance money, plus $154 paid at the time of the visit, plus $56 paid today. The cost difference staggers me. The comment in the office was that prices go up. I will find another provider in the future.

I went back in the next day and paid a second time. My husband went in to pick up his glasses two weeks later and asked them if they knew when mine would be in. They said I hadn't paid yet. My husband told them that I HAD paid. The lady said that no one told her so she would have to put a rush in then. When I was told the glasses had come in, I went in to try them on. I couldn't see out of the left eye at all. The technician said there was no way they could be wrong. He then called his supervisor. I was told the prescription on the lens was correct and I had to come back in for another exam when a Dr was there in case something had gone wrong with my vision. The day I was scheduled for a second exam (3/7/22) I got a call and was told they messed up the prescription and would have to get a new lens made. I expressed my frustration, told them to just cancel the order and asked for a refund. They said they would have the correct lens cut and be ready by the end of the day. Got a phone call that they had fixed the prescription, but I was told there was a scratch on the lens. I could come pick up the glasses, but would need to come back to get the new lens put in when it was ready. I told them that was the final straw and I was done. I told them I wanted to cancel the order and get a refund for the glasses on 3/7/22. I was told they would have to contact the owner. I got a call from customer support and told them everything that had happened. They said they would have to tell their supervisor and I should receive a call by Friday 3/11/22. I finally recieved a call on 3/17/22, letting me know that the owner said they would NOT be refunding me. They would instead give me a new pair of fitted sunglasses, and they would fix the lenses on the other glasses. Are you serious?!?? I don't want anything from them now, except a refund for the glasses. I have stated numerous times that I'll pay for the exam, but I don't want the glasses. They were just reading glasses. Nothing I need full time. I am now beyond frustrated at this point. I don't want the glasses now, as every time I look at them I would feel frustrated again. Just give me a refund for the glasses.

Plus, whenever you call to see what has happened---they rudely tell you they do not know--just a problem with "Corporate." He always explains things out very well, without being condescending. Out of pediatricians and dentists that we have to see, this is the only doctors office that my daughter is actually excited to go and see. They're excellent with children. I highly recommend this place. :)
