When my job changed to in-office work, I needed to find doggy daycare for my golden retriever, DB…read moreCooper. He'd only ever been with me and an occasional dog walker, and I knew a full day alone wouldn't be good for him. Then I found Mary Ellen's "Wag Along Pet Care" - a doggy daycare run out of her home. They also offer overnight boarding, which is a huge bonus since my new job requires travel. Wag Along has become Cooper's true home-away-from-home, and that's exactly what I wanted-- not some kennel tucked into a light-industrial office complex. Drop-off and pick-up are a snap, with a predictable routine that puts both of us at ease. But the best part? Mary Ellen is some kind of magical dog whisperer. Every time I pick Cooper up, the dogs in her care are all calm and content. Since starting at Wag Along, Cooper has begun wagging his tail in his sleep, something I'd never seen before. Wag Along, indeed! He's even learned to use a doggy door, which is no small feat for a dog who's reluctant to jump into new things. And Mary Ellen sends daily photos or videos, whether he's playing in the yard or lounging on the couch. Cooper has been at Wag Along for both daycare and boarding, and the experience has been wonderful. Mary Ellen is flexible, kind, professional, and obviously gifted with dogs. Cooper always comes home happy and tired... the sign of a truly great day.

This review is delayed, but I never forgot the stress and horrors Mary Ellen put me through. I had a delayed flight, and she threw a fit that I would be unable to pick up my dog in the afternoon, as originally planned, but instead that I would pick my dog up first thing in the morning. When I showed up in the morning, Mary Ellen was outside organizing her recycling and refused to make eye contact with me, or say hello. My dog, she was locked in a kennel outside the gate with all her stuff. Immediately I noticed my dog had some white sticky goo on her backside, and when I got home I immediately bathed her. When I texted Mary Ellen to ask what that was, she said it was sap. I'm not even sure if she has a tree in her backyard. I worried (and still do) that something terrible had happened to my dog. And then, she had the gall to text me back and say I owed her an extra $25!!! Exhausted and stressed, and having seen how unstable and temperamental she is, I paid her in order to not deal with her anymore. Please note - the prices on her website are not accurate. There's a handful of negative reviews on her Yelp and Google reviews. These reviews are consistent outlining her cruel behavior to pet owners entrusting their dogs in her care, and lack of patience and respect - this woman is not well. Please consider that only because the negative reviews are few, doesn't mean they're not true.

All the current active staff working at this specific location have demonstrated & proven how extremely capable & exhaustively knowledgeable as trainers, dog behavior specialists, groomers, etc. They have exceedingly created a trustworthy controlled environment setting that makes me reassuringly safe to entrust the safety & wellbeing of my 4-legged son. They have gone above & beyond for my puppy & I could not praise/thank them enough for their time, energy & effort to nurture my puppy's confidence & needs. Including assessing & addressing his trauma triggers being bullied as the "runt" of his litter, that occurred prior to his rescue. I am thoroughly enthralled with their most adorable & transparently informative daily report cards that are released after their daycare reservation. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to cultivate & nurture their doggo-puppers development & overall wellbeing (with a heaping side of well deserved spoiled treatment)! Will definitely be a continuing member, as long as they will have Beemo & I, after we officially move to the PNW.

WOW! What a difference three weeks with Taylor and board & train at A Dogs Best Friend can make…read more Holy smokes. We are so happy and very proud of our dog's progress and have so much to thank Taylor for. Folks send their dogs to board and train programs for many reasons. For us, we wanted support honing previously learned skills, learning recall, and curbing a few unwanted behaviors such as excitedly lunging and jumping at people, fence fighting, and barking. We were nervous about so many things. What would we do without our boy for three weeks? Would his sweet and playful personality be the same when he returned? Could we stick to it and reinforce his learning at the end of it all? The three weeks away were tough. But we timed it with a family vacation which helped a lot. As for the dog we picked up at the end; Ozzie is the exact same amazingly sweet and playful dog. But he is so much more confident, calm, and responsive. He honestly seems like a much happier dog. Almost like he feels and shares the pride we have in him. And with the tools and confidence it has given us, we can now give him the fulfilling life he deserves. THANK YOU, TAYLOR! We look forward to continuing this journey with you.
