All the current active staff working at this specific location have demonstrated & proven how extremely capable & exhaustively knowledgeable as trainers, dog behavior specialists, groomers, etc. They have exceedingly created a trustworthy controlled environment setting that makes me reassuringly safe to entrust the safety & wellbeing of my 4-legged son. They have gone above & beyond for my puppy & I could not praise/thank them enough for their time, energy & effort to nurture my puppy's confidence & needs. Including assessing & addressing his trauma triggers being bullied as the "runt" of his litter, that occurred prior to his rescue. I am thoroughly enthralled with their most adorable & transparently informative daily report cards that are released after their daycare reservation. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to cultivate & nurture their doggo-puppers development & overall wellbeing (with a heaping side of well deserved spoiled treatment)! Will definitely be a continuing member, as long as they will have Beemo & I, after we officially move to the PNW.

I am a disabled combat veteran, but do not qualify for a 'service animal' from non-profits because I do not have the 'correct' diagnosis, even though I suffer from the same exact symptoms as those with PTSD. My wife's mother, who lives in Europe, recently had a stroke and my wife has been by her side since early August. If I hope to see my wife at all over the next several years, because of her and my commitment to ensure that her mother gets the care and attention she deserves, we needed to be much closer than the Pacific NW, hence our uprooting. In order to have Kemper fly with me in the cabin on a grueling 10-hour trans-Atlantic flight, he needed some several skills which he was lacking when we adopted him from the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society after six years of being abandoned and abused, for no reason, by one owner after another. Even with his unjust and unconscionable treatment early in life, he is one of the sweetest and dogs I have ever known. Julie and Kemper quickly developed a strong bond and she was willing to work with me one-on-one, tailoring a training plan for both of us to get us where we need to be with just two months before boarding the plane. Having a Master's in Psychology, I am an expert in operant and classical conditioning, but lacked the understanding of how dogs think, so Julie was training both of us along the way. Kemper picked-up on things quickly and me, not so much, but we were compelled to get the job done and succeed in our mission, no room for error. Paws Down is not exactly cheap when it comes to private training, but Julie did not charge for travel time to our home and routinely stayed after the allotted one-hour appointment times. Yesterday, less than two months after starting with Julie, Kemper passed his AKC Canine Good Citizen test and his certificate is on the way, arriving well before we need it for travel to our new home. Thank you Paws Down and Julie for helping me ensure that my support animal and I make it safely to Europe, reuniting our family after moths apart. My husband went to find an employee to help us with getting some crickets. As soon as the lady "IL" on her name tag walks up, she immediately told me I should have scanned a QR code if I wanted help. Not realizing there even was a QR code to scan, I asked how it worked. She responded "like any other QR code!". So whatever, I needed crickets. She asked how many and I told her we have one leopard gecko and I wasn't sure. She then replies that she doesn't have any lizards so how would she know? (I assumed that since I was at a pet store the employees would know about pets, and this store sells leopard geckos...) I asked for 20, then remembered the previous lady had dusted them with some calcium, so I asked about that. She was very short just telling me they don't do that. I left this store feeling like I had done something wrong for simply asking questions. I was treated like crap the entire time. I will go to Petco down the road from now on. Clearly PetSmart isn't interested in helping their customers, and has no knowledge on the pets they sell.

Before we left home, Alexis came over for an orientation. Our cat hides from strangers so Alexis didn't get to meet her. I explained that our cat is a little bit wild, a picky eater, gets hairballs, and is weary of strangers. We were worried that our cat would just hide and barely eat. But after the first visit, our cat warmed up to Alexis. We received many photos of our fur baby playing with Alexis and getting her cheeks scratched, as well as daily visit reports. Our cat ate well and enjoyed her new visitor while we were away. We wouldn't hesitate to hire Sits and Walks again. Dependable, trustworthy, super nice and great communicator. Thank you Alexis!

She keeps an observant eye out for his well-being: She'll turn on the AC or heat if the temperature is uncomfortable, administer medicine if he needs it, text me updates, and let me know if anything seems different - like a lackluster coat or change in habits. She is my best ally in his care, and I'm so grateful for her responsibility, dedication and big heart.
