As I have said before, the Crimson Resort in Malay in Boracay, Philippines has several dining options. This review will focus on their second restaurant that I visited, Saffron for the breakfast buffet. I have to preface this review by stating that I have never seen such a vast selection of Filipino Korean, Chinese, Japanese, American and other delicacies, all in one place.
Saffron can easily be the leading breakfast/bunch buffet destination in Boracay. The spread is very impressive. Also includes, a variety of salads, freshly baked breads, croissants, danishes, pastries, fresh juice bars, and a made to order egg station for all your needs. There are also meat cutting stations, dim sum, made to order noodle soup , and fresh fruit selections. However, there is a major problem here. How do you choose?
I first went for the frittata of spinach and eggs, Hong Kong shrimp balls, mango, custard danish, fresh papaya, and mango. On my second round, I went back for more papaya also had papaya juice, one sunny side up egg, and Korean fried chicken (which were wings).
The diversity in food was unparalleled to what I have seen in the past. All the dishes were of high quality and presentation. The chef's team deserves kudos. They provided all guests an international perspective on what we have, and what can be. read more
