Lovely owners and the calamansi muffins are a must! Sunset views with an iced coffee (or peanut butter banana choc milkshake!) you just can't beat. Deffo recommend

We were greeted with big smiles and were seated immediately. There are variety types of seating from picnic to the ground for a more relax feel. The first day we ordered a tropical bowl, a banana shake, and filipino local sausage breakfast. The banana shake was good and fresh while the tropical bowl is different from what we're used to. The consistency was a little bit watery, but still tastes good. There weren't much granola on it or at least what we can see, but there are a bit of some crunchiness to it. I truly enjoyed the local sausage breakfast. I don't normally eat a giant bowl of rice, 2 eggs, and a THREE (but small) sausages. Very flavorful and great pairing of everything! It was delicious especially dipping it in the hot sauce. Everything was so good that we came back the next morning! We both ordered the local sausage breakfast, except this time sunny side instead of over easy. One disappointing thing was the hot sauce, it was more vinegary/watery. Nonetheless, it was still enjoyable and this may be our go to place!

I remember the very first time I stayed here, I decided to book this place because there were dogs! But, after fully experiencing the place, it's just the perfect place to stay when you're looking for a chill, relaxed vacation. The Lazy Dog is located near Bulabog beach, which is the quiet area of Boracay Island. It's a wonderful break from the hustle and bustle of White Beach. Plus, it's a short 5-10 minute walk to D'Mall and station 2. It is really a warm and cozy place to stay. Colorfully decorated and home of the friendliest staff (they seriously took care of me especially since they knew I was a lone female traveller). The best part for me? The moment you enter Lazy Dog, you are greeted by the famous Whiskie the "lazy dog." You will be seeing Whiskie for most of your stay, just chillin'/sleepin' by the entrance. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. It's perfect for people who want a good night's sleep after a long day on Boracay's beautiful beaches (or partying until 3AM!). The rooms have air conditioning and a hot & cold shower (pretty rare in Boracay unless you are staying in the expensive hotels/resorts). They also have cable TV, just in case you want to just hang in your room in the afternoons. If you can, try booking the private room on the ground floor. There is a nook in front of these rooms with a hammock and cushions. In my opinion, they serve one of the best breakfasts! It comes with the room and you can avail of it between 7AM-11AM only. In my most recent trip, I booked a room for 2 but my companion backed out last minute. This was still good for me because, I was now able to avail of 2 breakfast meals instead of 1 (HAHA!). My favorite breakfast plates were the Busy Day Breakfat Corned Beef with Garlic Rice and the Filipino Breakfast Chicken Tocino. Just delicious! You also have the option of a Fruit Bowl or Cereal but... why? My strategy whenever I stay here is that I eat my breakfast by 10-1030AM. Then, I take a nap until 2PM before heading out and having late lunch or start Happy Hour! I highly recommend the Lazy Dog for those who want value for money as well as comfort and a very good breakfast every morning! :D

The restaurant has the most beautiful tropical view, lush greenery, open air, and such a relaxing island atmosphere. It honestly makes the meal even better. I ordered a burger with fries, and it was exactly what I was craving. The burger was juicy and flavorful with fresh toppings on a soft, lightly toasted sesame bun, and the fries were perfectly crispy and golden while still fluffy inside. The vibe is relaxed but elevated, and the service was friendly and attentive without feeling overbearing. It's an easy place to sit back, enjoy the view, and take your time. If you're staying at the Shangri-La or visiting the area, Vintana is absolutely worth a stop. It has great food, incredible views, and a spot you'd happily come back to.

The entire resort is relaxing and elegant, with a great view of the ocean, coupled with lush green coconut trees. But the experience would not be complete without the brunch buffet offered complimentary at Vintana. The restaurant has a relaxed yet elegant vibe, with a modern design that feels both welcoming and classy. The food is authentic, offering various cuisines, but primarily Filipino dishes that change from day to day. There are Filipino flavors and international dishes, as well as breakfast options like fresh fruit, pastries and many other choices. I had my all-time favorites, like Kare-Kare (oxtail curry), Sisig (chopped pork parts with chicken liver and onions, seasoned with calamansi and chili peppers), Lechon, Mahi-mahi fish in broth, Pansit, a variety of noodles, fried rice, eggs to order, and Lumpiang Sariwa (fresh spring rolls). There were so many more dishes to try. For drinks, I ordered a flat white coffee one day and enjoyed a variety of their fresh fruit drinks, like watermelon, cantaloupe and mango. For desserts, the Taho (soft soybean pudding with mini boba) brought back memories, as I ate a lot of this growing up. They also had Crepes with various fillings, Kalamay's (sweet sticky Filipino desserts) and Puto (rice cakes). What we loved about this place was the hospitality of the staff. They were all attentive and very respectful. We felt at home and were accommodated nicely. They all gave their best and always with a great smile. Vintana Cafe is a must-visit while staying at Shangri-La. Everything, from the food and customer service to view, was top-notch.

As you can see on their promotional photo, the tempura shrimp shown there looks nothing to what was served to us. I posted both side by side for comparison. The "tempura shrimp" served to us was just flour battered shrimp. As to the halo halo, there was only 3 mix ingredients; mini sago, gulaman and cornflakes. No beans, no langka, no pinipig, no saging, no kamote etc. Ice provided was a water logged mess. It was not shaved, so you get big pieces of ice. The place is very tight. It was not wheelchair friendly nor handicap friendly. There was only one person manning the entire main food table dishing out food to you. So there was a long line waiting. It was extremely uncomfortable seated inside even though the Aircon was on. We arrived at 12:30pm on a Sunday, so there was no reason food served was like this. For the salad bar there was only 3 ingredients; lettuce, tomatoes and shredded carrots. The only vegetable dish I saw aside from the salad section was fried kangkong... that's it! Now for the plus side, the hostess/servers/help were A+, so I tipped generously because it's not their fault the food is subpar. There is also free garage parking next to their building.

I wouldn't say that their food wasn't new and interesting, but the execution and fulfillment of my expectations/imagination were issuing. We tried the bacon and mango grilled cheese which was highly recommended by most Redditors and noted on the restaurants menu. They use a bread similar to brioche and it was fluffy and a good option. The lack of excitement in the food itself came from the missing "wow" in the taste. The homemade mango jam was really subtle. The tomato sauce/paste/soup that was provided in the side bowl did not tie the meal together. I'm not sure how to describe it, but I wouldn't consider it soup since it was thick and the tomato flavour really overpowered the taste of everything else on the plate. The shrimp roll was ok - it wasn't bad but it's also not something to write home about. They offered calamansi juice without sugar which was refreshing after a long day in the sun. The staff were kind and they were prompt with our orders. The restaurant caters to a lot of tourists, which is possibly due to its location. There was indoor and outdoor seating and we chose to sit indoors.
