So, this place is the recent rebranding of what was here before, after receiving an unforgettably (or so you'd think) rating of zero, that's right, zero, stars on their hygiene rating. Though, they rebranded, suspiciously to the same name of a higher rated restaurant that closed to make way for a supermarket, and pushed menus through doors like crazy, trying to get their business back from flames.
They had another inspection in early August, and, obviously having been pulling their socks up, received a full five stars on their rating, hooray! Visiting my parents, they insisted we gave it a go.
I was sat working when my Dad went to pick up the curry, and he returned with a bag, and a grin on his face for the free cobra he'd been given for having to wait five minutes, easy bribery if you ask me,
The family had ordered to share:
Lemon and chilli rice
Coconut rice
Chicken tikka peri peri
Lamb tikka Matar
Vegetable korahi
Peshwari Naan
I have to say, it was far better than I expected, the korahi was a little too oily, especially as it cooled a little and separated, and the peri peri was fairly flavourless affair, but the matar was particularly lovely. The naan was a naan, nothing to really say either way, and both portions of rice were tasty.
If my review isn't reduced to 1* tomorrow, everything is thumbs up there too! read more
