Best meal we had in Jackson was at Saffron Indian Restaurant!! The garlic cheese naan, butter chicken, and salmon korma were all flavorful and delicious. The food was so good that we scarfed it down and left no crumbs. The consistency of the korma was thicker than the butter chicken - both were excellent, and the naan & rice were great with them. We went with a medium spice level and it wasn't that spicy. Service was very friendly & attentive. The staff frequently came by to refill our water and gave us more rice for free. The inside is spacious and has a nice ambiance. Parking was easy - we parked in the public parking lot across from the restaurant. read more

Since we're on holiday away from home, how much local / regional food should we eat? We were very thankful for Saffron Indian restaurant -- starting with the quality of the food, hospitality, and ambiance. We're so grateful for all the effort to get the ingredients / seasoning to Jackson. Indian food is my most favorite cuisine. As the storm front moved in and winds picked up, the thought of a flavorful and even spicy meal was very appealing. Note: Extra spicy isn't that hot. As another yelper noted 'wyoming spicy'. Each handi (metal bowl) is about a 16 oz portion. We appreciated the vegan options noted on the menu since cream can pose a problem. The wait staff answered all our questions and periodically checked in. They were eager to assure that we were satisfied. (Nothing like the lack of service comment in late 12/2025). We were very pleased to see quite a full dining room, with a nice decor. We were unsure how appreciated Indian cuisine would be in JH. We also liked seeing Indian or South Asian families dining here. Sure wish this restaurant thrives. It's located on the second floor and the door is between big window displays for Teton Toys. Saffron is one of the newest restaurants in Jackson. It is a friendly family owned restaurant serving up some pretty darn good food. I ordered chicken korma and coconut naan. I ordered my karma hot, but I didn't think it was very spicy it's ok maybe it was "Wyoming spicy". Anyway overall, I thought the meal was good. This place is ULTRA fire! The owner is Nepalese and came to open the restaurant. He and his wife have several restaurants in Cheyenne and decided to open at JH. Cute set up. Enter off the street thru glass doors that looks like it's closed and not a restaurant. Walk up the stairs to the restaurant. It is small so reservations are recommended. Enjoy the Nepalese decor. Meet the owner and staff who are all super cool. The food flavors are delish and similar to Indian cuisine but different. Delicious Indian food in the middle of Wyoming?? oh my god! We didn't originally plan to stop in here but wandering around downtown Jackson and we smelled this place and we knew we had to come back. We technically made a reservation but to be honest I don't think we needed it and we could have just walked in. Every single one of the staff members was super nice and welcoming and the food was even better! We got some samosas to start which were delicious but the true stars were the entrees. Butter chicken, Chicken tikka masala, lamb biryani, saag paneer (aka palak paneer) just all absolutely amazing and the naan?? even better with great portions. This was some of the best Indian food I have ever had and at such a great price. I ended the meal with some chai as well and just wow absolutely delicious! I was struggling deciding on 3 or 4 stars. The food was very good. The service was lacking. We ordered Naan and it was delivered to the table next to us that hadn't even ordered their food yet -- we were like starving dogs looking over to that table while they were munching away at our naan Would I eat there again? During our trip to Grand Teton, we stopped by this 'Indian' restaurant whose owner is Nepali. Food was beyond our expectations. We had Butter Chicken, Kadahi chicken and Chicken Korma, with butter as well as garlic naan. All food item was delicious, flavorful and savory. All Adults and kids loved the food. So nice to finally have actual Indian food in Jackson. For years we've been flush with Thai food, and then Teton Tiger was kind of an Indian restaurant for a hot second. But that didn't last. The Momo Shack is great for some pretty similar options. But thank goodness for Saffron being a true Indian cuisine option. Everything I've had here has been great. Jackson prices, but not nearly as bad as some (ahem, Tiger). Great option for anyone looking for authentic Indian food in a place that's severely lacked it for too long. read more

Wow, this place was a lovely surprise. We came in for dinner around 8:30 and the place was about half full. The atmosphere was very nice with dim lighting and calm soothing music. We ordered the dal tadka, aloo gobi, and palak paneer, and an appetizer of chili chicken. The food came out quite fast and was really good. The dal tadka was my favorite. Saffron Indian Restaurant was so delicious and flavorful! You walk in the front door and go upstairs to their restaurant to be seated. There is parking behind the building if you are driving there. We stayed in Jackson Hole so this hotel was only a short walk, which was also convenient. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I ordered the Aloo Gobi and we ordered Garlic Nan to share. They have a large selection of dishes you can order. The ambience is welcoming and inviting. We both absolutely loved our meal. Every time we walked to and from our hotel, we smelled the most amazing aromas and finally realized they were coming from this restaurant. We had initially missed it when walking by (the entrance to the second-story restaurant is sandwiched between the windows and doors of a ground-level toy store). I was on a bus tour from Florida. We stopped in the town for 1 hour. So when we stopped at the visitor center, I saw the sign for Indian food. Being a foodie and chef I had to try it. And I was so grateful I did. I asked it for Indian spice level and he did give me that nice spicy level flavor oh God. If you love the real thing stop in. I thought it would be nice to have an Indian restaurant in Jackson. I won't be coming back. The food was fairly good but far from exceptional. Samosa were good but tikka masala was not very flavorful. Josh Rogan was fair. Garlic Naan only had sparse garlic. My main complaint was the service and the billing process. When you come in you order off your phone, and no one is available, such as a waiter, to answer questions or take your order. You have ton chase someone down for drink refills. When you order you have to put in your credit card information. They immediately put a $100 charge on your phone, it is as if you are staying in a hotel and putting down a security deposit. Very weird.They automatically put on a 15% gratuity. Then you get the check at the end of the experience and you scan a code, back to your phone and they ask you to put another 18%, 20%, or 22% tip along with the already included 15% gratuity. They was asking for up to a 37% tip/gratuity for no service. No waiter to take your order, check on your meal, get drink refills?!?! Really? I'm sure plenty of customers are double tipping unknowingly. Then when I tried to pay the bill on the phone it said the payment was not accepted and see an employee. I had to go to the front desk THREE times to get clarification on the bill and pay it. The employee at the front desk even said the system of the tip and gratuity was "BS". When your employees are even saying it things are bad. My wife then had diarrhea after the meal. Definitely our worse restaurant experience in Jackson and I have been coming here for many years. Save your money and your frustration and go elsewhere. read more

My family and I are here for a week on vacation visiting from good ole Iowa to visit the national parks. I was craving Indian food (as one does) and was so happy to find Saffron in town close to where we were staying. Now I'm a huge Indian food fan and something about the seasoning and flavor here just blew me away. We ordered the Aloo Gobi, the Butter Chicken, Lamb Curry, Steamed Vegetable Momo, and of course, Garlic Butter Naan. All which was outstanding and delicious! I wish I lived here so I could keep coming back here to eat! The owner, Bir, who also helps out as a server was so kind to introduce himself and make sure that we were well taken care of and pleased with our meal. After learning that this opened up not too long ago in May, I can say for certain that this will be one of the best new restaurants in Jackson, Wyoming in no time. Hope to be back again soon. I will be completely honest and clear with my review. The food was terrible. It was unreasonably spicy with no other flavors that stood out and the Tandoori shrimp was covered with artificial color that was brighter than the sun! On my trip I've gone to several restaurants in Jackson, but this one was the worst by far. Some other examples of sadness is the garlic naan had tons of garlic in it, but not any butter and the tasteless dal makhani. The service was one of the better parts of the experience with some servers that were pretty nice, but other servers that did not care at all. At a minimum, they waived a part of the bill and appreciated the honest review. The ambiance was one of the weak points with the staff vacuuming while we were eating and a pretty dingy entrance. In conclusion, the restaurant had many weak points that made the experience extremely disappointing. read more
