We recently ordered 6 sandwiches for a Duffy boat evening in Newport Harbor. We got 3 roast beef and 3 chicken pesto. They were able to accommodate us ordering the day before and had them waiting for pickup. Each sandwich comes with either fruit or salad and we asked for fruit. They were nice enough to put all the fruit in a plastic bowl as they knew we would be having a little gathering. Nice touch. Sandwiches super fresh and tasty. Excellent bread. Super friendly staff. I returned today for another sandwich and pumpkin danish. Got the chicken pesto on baguette this time and it was excellent. Love the baguette here. The pastry was very good. The Nutella pastry was the standout--perfectly flaky and actually filled with Nutella throughout, not just in the center. The danishes had that perfect light, crispy crunch and were incredibly flaky. Even the chocolate chip cookie with walnuts was delicious, and I'm typically not a walnut fan! They also have Turkish coffee and Persian tea, which makes this place even more special. I've seen this place every time I stop at Starbucks to get my coffee and always thought, "You know what, let's try it today." WOW. Absolutely wow! For a second, I felt like we had been transported to Europe. The pastries here are incredible, and the service was magnificent. I came here on a whim because the spot I would usually go was so packed day before July 4th. I was so surprised because the breads here are amazing! I had their breakfast sandwich and the bread was the best bread I've ever had--and yes I have been to Paris. I'm not sure which bread it was but it was crispy, thin, and didn't overpower the sandwich. I then saw everyone buying their olive baguette so I bought one and it was also great. Wow! I highly recommend this hidden gem. We visited for the first time today and we can see why it's so popular! The moment we walked in we were welcomed with many happy customers, sweet staff, and delicious varieties of treats. The store was bright, fun, and very air conditioned! We ordered a few different items, sat outside to enjoy a nice afternoon summer day and instantly fell in love. My toddler really enjoyed his chocolate chip cookie!! I had a very disappointing experience with this bakery that unfortunately ruined my daughter's 2nd birthday. I placed my order a week in advance and clearly requested an all-chocolate cake. I was told the cake would be ready at 10:00 AM on Friday, but when I arrived, it was not ready. I had to drive back and forth multiple times just to pick it up. The worst part was when we finally cut the cake during the party and discovered that it was not even chocolate inside. It was a coffee-flavored cake with chocolate frosting. My daughter was unable to eat her own birthday cake, and several of our guests' children could not eat it either. My pregnant wife also accidentally ate some of the cake, which was very concerning. When I called to address the issue, Darius did not speak with me directly and instead had his assistant handle the call. I followed up by email and never received a response. When I asked what went wrong, I was told that the baker "doesn't remember," which was very concerning and disappointing. While his assistant was polite, the overall experience and lack of accountability were extremely frustrating. I hope the bakery improves its quality control and customer service so that other families do not have to go through a similar experience. The fact that Darius continues to respond with excuses for selling me the wrong cake further shows how unprofessional this situation was handled. Perhaps he needs to communicate better with his assistant, Kayla, because she was the one who confirmed that the cake contained coffee after tasting it herself. According to Kayla, Darius instructed me to bring the cake back so she could taste it and confirm whether it contained coffee. This was extremely inconvenient because it required me to drive back with the cake after the birthday party. She also confirmed that the baker said he did not remember making the cake. I want to be clear that this was not Kayla's fault. She was only doing her job, and she was understanding and professional throughout the process. The issue was with the lack of communication and accountability from Darius, especially since he ignored both of my emails instead of properly investigating the matter after I notified him in writing. read more

You'd think they'd be slipping saffron into a pastry somewhere, right? Nope. I've never seen a single saffron-infused anything on the menu, other than a saffron cake on one visit. It's like calling your bakery "Caviar Cakes" or "Truffle Donuts." Bold move. But honestly, when the croissants are this good, they can call it "Toenail Bakery" and I'd still show up. Bonus points for location: it's wedged right next to a dry cleaner and a dentist. So if you drop butter on your shirt or chip a tooth on the crusty baguette, you can solve all your problems in one trip. That's efficiency. I love this cute little bakery. The staff brings a smile to my face every time I think about them. They're all so kind, patient, and generous. There are a couple of tables and chairs inside and some outside as well. I usually come here for the organic coffee and the occasional latte. Once in a while I'll have a pastry here and there but since I can't have too many sweets, I just stick to the coffee. Ham & Cheese Croissants are good. I've also had the pleasure of trying their Dubai cookie and it was all I could think about for a week. The saffron cake was nice but probably too floral-y for me, but it's good and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys that saffron rose-y taste. Wow, the baked goods here were so good and fresh. I had the sliced pear danish and it was not too sweet. The pear itself gave it a good amount of sweetness with a flaky croissant-like bread around it, and it was so buttery and flaky it came off in pieces of layers. My husband and I went to Saffron Bakery over the weekend for brunch. I had heard some good reviews from neighbors, so I wanted to pop in to check it out. I did tell my husband that it was a bakery, so he was prepared. Once we arrived, we saw that they also were serving lunch too. They offer a pastrami burger on their menu which sounded good. But we were there for brunch, so I ordered the Quiche Lorraine. My husband wanted the croissant breakfast sandwich with ham. We wanted to eat these items there and grab some pastries for the road. We also got a Kouign-amann and chocolate cake to-go. I also asked for a cappuccino and the barista asked if I wanted any syrup in it. I chose one pump of caramel. The bakery is small but there are a few tables. I asked for the quiche to be warmed and was told it would be a few minutes. No problem. They made my husband's sandwich to order so we waited outside. They brought out our food and coffee to us, which was nice. I did not expect a side of salad to accompany my quiche, but it was a nice surprise. My husband had some breakfast potatoes to accompany his croissant sandwich, which was also a welcome surprise. The food was really good and so was the service. I was really pleased with the kouign-amann. The chocolate cake was really good too. Not too sweet but very good. I enjoyed the spongy texture.
