They are really amazing about being well stocked with produce and flowers! Moderate pricing but always lots of coupons and "digital deals" in the app that make it overall relatively affordable. Convenient Starbucks to grab a drink before/after shopping, however this location does not let you order ahead on the Starbucks app. The staff is pretty friendly, and the manager is efficient and kind. When I have any issues the employees are always empowered to solve problems and I love when management does that and let's the team find solutions as they see fit. Delivery errors the last 2 times I needed to order. One time the driver had my bags plus a lot of someone else's at my door . He had to carry many bags back to his car. Today 2 of 6 bags were not delivered at all. It would be efficient if customer service could reach the driver when this happens. He had barely left when I called customer service. read more

I hate to say that I set my expectations for stores based on where they are at but it really is shocking to have such a poor store in such a rich neighborhood. This store feels run down. More so I get into a motorized cart which says full battery. I was doing a customer order and had to get a new cart because the battery suddenly dropped to being empty during a, what was supposed to be, quick shop. I asked a person straightening things in one of the fridge sections where I might find their ice. WOW... did not need the attitude or tone making me feel like he was trying to talk down to me with, "well, I mean - it is up front like when you walked in.." Thanks BRO... I go to get said ice and had another person, after I loaded it into my cart doing the standing, practically dislocating a hip from the motorized cart and using it to lean and stand safely. if I could give it a negative review I would e.g. negative stars. I don't usually shop at this store but this is where my fresh pass came from and this is really an indictment of fresh than anything else. They totally oversell what it is. For example the delivery windows of which very few actually available in the couple of day window are typically requiring additional fees a timeframe from 5 to 9 PM. As opposed to other which are within say half a day and two hour time windows. As a morning person usually in bed pretty early I don't appreciate waiting past nine for a delivery. It didn't even from my regular store. Plus many of the benefits of fresh overstated they're really oriented toward curbside pick up and not even for all the hours that they're open I've already called and tried to get an exception for a refund we'll see what happens otherwise I'll be submitting a and a request for refund/reversal read more

Another 'win' for Safeway Salamo service! I made a 1030 appointment for my flu shot. Upon arrival, there were no other customers at the pharmacy counter, or in the waiting room. I waited for 15 minutes, then left. Why bother with appointments if they mean nothing? Well done, Safeway. read more

We had a truly amazing and wonderful experience at Safeway (store #1713) in West Linn OR. We volunteered to feed dinner to 40 people at an event and spent an entire day collecting supplies. My husband spoke to Jerry Newell, the Safeway manager, in hopes of finding specific tortillas. Since their storeroom was empty of these, Mr. Newell promised to check w distributor and call us next morning. He called saying distributor did not have them, but he found them in another store and a courier was bringing them to his store in time for our event! How generous and kind is that!! Mr. Newell obviously went out of his way and we are so grateful. Thank you. He's the kind of manager who makes a store worthy of customer support! read more

This Safeway has the worst staff Ive ever encountered in any grocery store. Seems like everyone is miserable to be here. I just recently moved here and was happy to see a Safeway close by. But once Ive started using this store regularly Ive been shocked at how bad the staff is. Literally everyone is rude and unhappy here. The checkers literally say NOTHING when you checkout. No hello, no thank you, no paper or plastic, literally nothing. There are a couple checkers that are so slow and rude Ill wait in a longer line just to avoid them. The employees walking around the store with huge carts that take up half the isle are no better. Employees will block isles and not move when you approach. Employees are all over the store scanning items constantly, I assume to price check items. No one will ever make an effort to smile or even be helpful/approachable. And if you dare ask someone where something is be prepared for an eye roll or an extreme case of Im pissed off don't both me. Whoever the manager is needs to get control of this staff. I know its difficult to find good help these days, but this store is a complete joke and an example of how to not run a business. read more

I love going to this Safeway I go on my scooter with my friend and if we want Starbucks there it's right there! I love that the workers are kind and that we get to have a wide selection of everything but one thing I would change is maybe they should try to get more workers for Starbucks because usually I wait 10 minutes for two maybe just one because there's usually only one boy or girl there but that's all I have. EXPIRED fresh foods in Produce. This is the second time in two weeks I have tried buying Field Roast brand and every single one was expired! This not acceptable! Today is July 2, 2021 and the product was expired 6/22/2021. I took all of them and placed them in a pile, let customer service know, by the time he went to look, the workers had put them all back. No clean carts. Carts are outside, wipes are inside. Nobody monitoring carts There was a group of young women in the store with no masks. I pointed that out to the checker and she said she was sorry. Being sorry doesn't prevent spreading Covid. With better customer service training, she should have called the manager. I find this store very unsafe and unfriendly. They clean their checkout stations once every hour if that, so forty other people could have touched their credit card machine before you. The managers are not visible and they seem to be only men. Safeway is the store of my childhood. And for the most part, I've left it in the past. My current shopping excursions involve a regular rotation of Fred Meyer, Trader Joe's and Albertsons with occasional jaunts to Whole Foods and Market of Choice. This location is modern and clean. Nothing special or unique. A nice bonus is that you can sign up online through your Safeway Club Card to have a percentage of your purchases benefit your local school (eScrip at http://www.safeway.com/IFL/Grocery/Card-Programs). Tried Drive up and go 3 times-weeks apart. Each time I parked and called the number. It rang and rang. No answer. I called the store no answer. Finally had to walk in the store and bother a swamped checker. Finally after 30 minutes, my groceries were brought out. This happened EACH time. Tried delivery 2 times. First time groceries were left strewn all over the porch. 2nd time arrived late and incomplete. I ordered in the morning, didn't get delivery until after 9:00 PM. Why did I try this pharmacy again!!! They are so disorganized here. Again they told me no problem when I place my prescription ,then paged me to return to the pharmacy. They then said they were out and to come back Monday. Today is Monday, and they had one of the three prescriptions. They told me they did not order the other two. OMG, is told at the window and talked through it. Now I am at the window and they are trying to get authorization. Really, shouldn't they have done that already. This is strike three for them. Never will I return to this pharmacy. After seeing other upset customers that had their orders screwed up, it's not just me. Please stay away or risk a long wait. read more

STAY AWAY. The pharmacy has been investigated by the Oregon Board of Pharmacy multiple times. They WILL kill your family if you're not careful. They have given people medications that they are allergic too. People have reported missing opiod drugs from prescriptions, e.g. they were prescribed 30 oxy and only 28 were in the bottle. They very likely have staff that are skimming these meds. The rest of the store is as bad, it's dirty, the food is frequently expired, the produce is frequently rotting, the customers service is non-existent, they keep moving things around constantly, management is just not interested in this store. Long lines and couldn't find everything on my list. We once tried the online shop/deliver experience and it was an utter fail. Received curly parsley instead of cilantro, just to name one error. The delivery person or Safeway texted the driver "was on the way now, ETA 10 min" (we live 5 minutes away) and she arrived 50 minutes later with a child in her car. (Steve's wife) My husband rode his bike to the Safeway West Linn to get 1 item from the Deli. He arrived at 6:20pm. He wanted to purchase 1# of turkey. The "service" person was cleaning the slicer and responded "I'm sorry I'm shutting down". On Saturday evening? My husband left with nothing and rode home. I called the store at 7:10pm and was told Pete the Service Manager was on his 10 minute break and I could either call back in 10 minutes or wait on hold for 10 minutes. Seriously? Tons of rude employees. You can see why - the managers talk down to them like they're worthless and, as a result, they seem less than enthusiastic about working there. Seriously, I heard a manager yelling at an employee for having a cup of water when they're standing by watching the self checkouts. Why?? An employee drinking water does not bother me, they should be able to stay hydrated. You lecturing your employee over this bothers me more. They probably are overworked and underpaid, too. This place is downright awful and wouldn't have any business if it wasn't for Haggen's closing. Frequently i'll just go to Walmart for a more pleasant experience than Safeway. Couple of tips: -Don't get a donut if you can resist. If you absolutely NEED to for some reason, open the door and let it close on its own. Sometimes there are flies inside the donut case and they will fly around if you let the door slam close. -The people in the deli act like asking them to make a sandwich is the most inconvenient thing ever. However, the sushi people are great! They're always friendly and willing to make whatever you want. -The Starbucks in store is more expensive than the stand alone Starbucks in the same plaza. Not by much, but just in case you're counting your pennies. There is also no food (other than pastries) in the in-store Starbucks. -Get a Safeway card, go on their website. There frequently are deals available that you can load onto your card. Pretty handy. read more

I don't know what has happened to Safeway, but it is a horrible store. The clerks are extremely rude. There is one older checker with short grayish hair that I will avoid completely. If they are so miserable they shouldn't be working in customer service. You don't even get a hello, thank you or have a nice day response. I mentioned this to a courtesy clerk named Owen and he rolled his eyes at me. It took everything in me not to b*!($ slap his face! Shelves are barely stocked. Their canned fruit section is pretty much nonexistent! Packed salads are always wilted looking. I don't buy meat there anymore. I bought a ham for Easter, cooked it and when we sliced it open it was full of dead worms! Their other meats don't look fresh or pleasing either. They are carrying less and less items. The selection of International Delight coffee creamer is ridiculous! Deli personnel act like your a pain for bothering them. I've had one specific kid purposely ignore me and walk away....twice! Just terrible service and all personnel are rude. Time to get a decent manager in there that can filter out the bad apples and get the store back to what it once was. I now avoid Safeway unless it's one item that I really need. Otherwise, I'll drive further distance for a much better shopping experience. Oh and I forgot....I finished unloading my groceries and a courtesy clerk was coming by me taking carts in. I told him, here's another one you can take. Never use their pick up service. My Order for 3pm went in at 11am and was not available until 6:30.... when it finally was ready the extremely young girl who brought it to me gave me no receipt and neglected to tell me there were things missing from my order. When I got home there were 5 things missing. When I call the store to find out what happened they told me the problem won't be resolved until tomorrow and to call back in the morning. Decided I had to go back to the store to find substitutes for my missing items and to receive my receipt. This is the last time I use this service and shop at this Safeway! I'm giving this place five stars, because: They put coupons in my junk mail. You know, the one that we usually throw away? $10 off when you spend $50 or more. Yay! Plus, others! Like for milk, which my family goes through like nobody's business. They had my favorite cereal on sale. $1.69 each. At other grocery stores, it's $3 or more. At $1.69, I'm pretty sure I'm going back tomorrow to stock up... like purchase all of the ones they put out, because I got the last two they had this evening. My other half was getting eggs, and he mentioned to me that the first three cartons he looked in had broken eggs. We didn't notice, but an employee was near us, and he fixed the problem right away by taking those cartons. He apologized, too, even though there was nothing to apologize for. Wow. Good service. There were lots of good sales going on. We ended up getting a lot and spending only $50. I didn't think we'd end up with such a good deal, but we did! The employee, who checked us out, was friendly. He made nice, small talk, and he was pretty quick at scanning and bagging our groceries. So, five stars! Thanks, Safeway!
