I ordered a custom cake 3 weeks in advance. I got a call the night before I was to pick up the cake letting me know that they didn't have any red velvet sheets available and asked what other flavor I wanted. I feel like 3 weeks is plenty of time to order what you need but okay. Then when we picked it up, this is what we got. All four corners were smashed in. The decorations were mediocre and they couldn't even capitalize my son's name. I could have done a better job myself. I shouldn't have accepted this but it was two hours before the party and I had no backup plan. I'll go back to Walmart next year. read more

Saria's unacceptable pharmacy conduct - zero accountability I had an extremely frustrating and unacceptable experience with the Fred Meyer pharmacy, specifically involving a technician named Saria. After calling multiple pharmacies, I was relieved when I was told by Fred Meyer they had liquid Lasix (Furosemide) in stock--a medication urgently needed for my dog (9/23 at 4:57 PM.) My pet's cardiologist immediately faxed over the prescription and left a voicemail with the pharmacy. I followed up with Fred Meyer, (9/23 at 5:27 PM) provided my contact information, and was told I'd be contacted if there were any issues. So far, so good. But the next morning, (9/24 at 10:36 AM) I called again and spoke with Saria. She said the prescription hadn't come through. I asked if she could stay on the line while I looped in the cardiologist's office to confirm the fax number they have -- just a quick call. She refused. I even said, "If it takes more than two minutes, hang up, I understand--but I already have you on the phone." Still no. When I asked for her name, she sped through it. I asked her to repeat and spell it--she mumbled. Then I asked for her last initial--and she hung up on me. Saria--if you ever read this--I want you to know that you made me cry. My dog is dying. I've spent hours trying to find this medication to keep him comfortable. And you--representing the only pharmacy that had it--treated me with zero compassion, zero patience, and zero accountability. You made a hard situation harder. Let me be clear: this behavior violates the core ethical and professional standards expected of pharmacy personnel. Hanging up on a customer--especially one trying to secure life-saving medication for a dying pet--is not just unprofessional, it's heartless. Fred Meyer: If your staff can't handle basic communication or refuse to show empathy in urgent medical situations, they shouldn't be working in a pharmacy. The bakery department is terrible. We had ordered a cake on Monday. Cody the assistant manager took our (reluctantly) , which made concerned so husband called Thursday just to remind them of the cake we needed on Saturday. We told them we'd pick it up on Friday, went to get the cake when they said it will be ready of course it wasn't ready and was told to come back an hour later, which we did. The cake was a 2 tier instead of 3 and no Happy Birthday on it. Why have a bakery if you can't get a simple cake right even ordered a week early. Terrible service, will not be back!! read more

I do appreciate the availability of the motorized carts and quite a few of the employees here are very nice and want to help! Seriously, the self check folks were amazing! Fred Meyers now does stocking while the store is already ridiculously busy and every aisle I am having to drive around the shoppers with the giant blue carts shopping for others and the stock people with the giant carts. Some of the people are much nicer than others. One blocking completely three fridge doors was doing the fake nice while practically biting my head off when I asked her to please hand me an item. She handed me not what I asked for and then was pissed when I was saying that is not it. Maybe if she did not want to hand people things she could find a way to not completely block off something while the store is open and people are shopping? I get that the stockers are doing there job and that people are probably way rude many times but when every aisle I go down has someone blocking it so I either have to go around or have to get around them to get something I am trying to buy... it is lie hostage negotiations to buy groceries. I have tried very hard to like this grocery store because it's across the street from my home, it's huge with basically anything and everything I might need and the customer service experiences I've had there have been good overall. However, I will no longer be shopping here after catching the fourth or fifth cold virus in the past 1.5 years since I moved to the area. The first couple of viruses were back to back during my family and I's first winter in Oregon City (I had a bad cough the whole month of December 2023 and my kids were in bad shape as well). I avoided the store for the rest of winter, started going again occasionally during the summer of 2024, I caught another virus during that time period. Again, we avoided it for all of winter 2024/2025 and we started going again in May. I am currently typing this while fighting yet another severe cold virus thanks to that store. I know it's Fred Meyer and not another store/business I went to due to it being the only business I've been inside recently (we mostly stay home). This is truly unreal and makes me genuinely concerned about the cleanliness of the store. Most of the instances in which me and my family have caught a virus from that store no one was coughing or sneezing around us and we also typically use hand sanitizer afterward (I also don't let my kids touch random food or items). I've never experienced this from a grocery store or any store before and that says a lot because I lived in Los Angeles for a decade in which I went to grocery stores that had a lot more people going in and out compared to this Fred Meyer. I would only catch the occasional cold from those stores, it definitely wasn't the norm like it has been at Fred Meyer. Also, I do most of my grocery shopping at WinCo in Oregon City and I've never caught any viruses there, not even during winter. I had a strange experience today at Freddie's. My husband and I went through the self check, because I don't want to wait an hour in line for someone to check us out. We finished up, the bags are in the cart, my husband finished paying and is getting the change and receipt. I move slowly waiting on him, I'm past the security in self check out, waiting. The older lady looked at me rudely asking me," can I help you?" I look around, confused and asked,"are you talking to me?" She said,"Yes!" There's now a younger woman who's joining her by the security gate. "No, I'm just waiting on my husband." I said, a little thrown. The younger woman laughed and the older woman mumbled, " she just sitting there." I was there maybe, 2 minutes and if I'm being honest, I was looking at where Chase used to be and was wondering what they're going to do with the space. My husband comes behind me with our receipt. I looked at her and said," we've paid and now we're going home, thank you." And the younger woman smiled. I am absolutely positive that I am not the only spouse who has waited for their other half as they've paid and finished up. I was minding my own business, not engaging in ANY conversations with anyone. It made me feel weird and I would advise anyone who has already paid and are waiting for 2 minutes before they leave the store. Don't! You'll be made to feel like a weirdo. read more

Now, I have been to the Fred Meyer in Oregon City more than once, and I must say, it is fantastic, as well as highly awesome, too. For one thing, there are all these great deals on things that most of us want to buy, and I firmly believe that is a great way of saving money. :) Also, when it comes to the deals on soda pop, I must say, something like $13 for 3 12-packs of Pepsi and Coca-Cola (for one) definitely deserves two thumbs up. Finally, there are all the departments, such as the highly superb Electronics department, which I've taken notice of more than once; the things there, such as the microSD cards for the smartphones and cameras, and the video games like the ones for the Nintendo Switch, are amazing in their own way. Plus, the books and magazines in the Books department are highly unique as well. :) Basically, I highly recommend Fred Meyer to anyone who likes grocery shopping, and give it two thumbs up, as well as five stars (although ten stars would be even better). :) read more

Back in the day I worked at this store, throwing freight at night. Met some great people and enjoyed a decent length of time here. I continued to shop here after I quit and got a more normal job and enjoyed my insight into the grocery business. This store is ran very well and the staff does a great job keeping it stocked, organized and shoppable - to this day. I don't make it up to the OC very often and when I do I generally do not "grocery shop" but when I do come into FM, I am impressed at how consistent and well maintained everything is within the store from the top down. read more

This review reflects the service in the deli department only. As my first review shows I buy all of my deli meat at this Fred Meyer. The staff is generally friendly and they get to each customer as fast as possible. After dealing with the young man in the deli today I may not be purchasing anything from this deli in the future. I definitely won't shop there if I see that guy is there in the future. I decided to do all of my shopping here today, at approximately 6pm, specifically because I wanted to get deli meat. I stopped at the deli first to make my selections and was stared at over the counter by a dark complected, black haired, young man. He didn't greet me or ask if I was ready, he just stared at me. There was another young man helping a gentleman that was further down at the deli counter so I wasn't sure if this guy was there to help me or doing another task. I asked if he was there to help me and he tossed up his hands as if I was being foolish by asking this. I then told him my first selection, how much I needed and that I would like it very thin sliced. He began looking through the meats for what I asked for, he again asked, "What do you want?" and I repeated it. He then moved a cabinet over and again asked what I wanted. This repeated again at the next cabinet. A total of 3 times and I was a bit confused as to why he was searching for the meat 2 cabinets down with other brands in it. I'd never seen this done before. Once he located it he again asked how much I wanted and I also repeated that I'd like it thin sliced. He took a couple of minutes slicing the meat while mumbling derogatory things under his breath and angrily slapping things around. He then slapped the meat onto the scale weighing in at about 1/4 lb more than I asked for. When I looked at what he had cut it was at least twice as thick as lunch meat is normally cut, even in the precut cooler! I again said that I needed the meat thin cut and that was way to thick of a cut. He looked at me and said "WOW, REALLY?" while acting irritated and shaking his head. He threw the cut meat on the counter and mumbled more. He adjusted the slicer, showed me a slice, and I asked him to adjust it down to about half of that super thick slice he just showed me. After slamming things around and continuing to mutter derogatory things he threw the newly sliced meat back on the scale and asked if that was "good enough" for me. I told him that was fine and then noticed, before printing a price sticker, that the price shown on the scale was $3 dollars per pound higher than the meat I had chosen. I asked why the price was higher and he replied, "I don't know. Whatever. That's what you got." and threw it down on the counter. I didn't bother to make my other selections. I picked up the bag and told him I'd check with customer service on a price adjustment or I would bring it back. I generally purchase $75-$100 worth of lunch meat and cheese from the deli each visit in addition to my other groceries. I wasn't going to deal with his HORRIBLE attitude and poor customer service a minute longer. Today I walked away from the counter with less than $10 in product from the deli. Customer service did adjust the price for me to the price of what I had asked for. I work in customer service 5-6 days every week, 9-10 hours each day and I would NEVER behave that way towards a customer. Especially not one that was being friendly and courteous towards me. He shouldn't be helping customers in any capacity. He's clearly not cut out to be working in that type of position. I have always stopped at this location because it's half way between where I live and where I work but the Clackamas location isn't much further out of my way. The extra couple of miles will be worth it to not deal with this type of service again. read more

This place isn't the same since Kroger took over. The produce and meat departments are not good. The prices are outrageous and the quality is poor. The clothes they sell now are cheap and fall apart. The staff are unhappy and it reflects in the customer service received. Your best bet to get out of the store faster is to ring your own groceries and you are treated like a thief the entire time. Technically the closest Fred Meyer to my home, but I usually find myself visiting the Tualatin location instead. The Oregon City store is larger and yet always seems more frustrating... the parking, the crowds, the employees. Tualatin just seems quaint by comparison. My worst experience was during one of their doorbuster sales around the holidays. I had a few electronics items on my kids' wish list and it was a total nightmare. Multiple items out of stock combined with understaffed, over stressed and under trained employees made for a really frustrating visit. That same morning, I went to the location on 82nd in Clackamas and had a much better experience. This location does have a Fred Meyer gas station, so props for that. But for the majority of shopping trips I venture to another location. read more

There's a few employees that deliberately have been very rude to me on multiple occasions. One cashier even had her manager lock up the wheels on my cart when I tried to go out the door after getting ice, cigs, and a few reusable bags which I had for at customer service desk and had my receipt out while I was getting the ice and she and the manager were standing right there. That cashier actually blocked me from checking out thru a cashier and then at self check out and grabbed my cart and they weren't even closed yet. Older lady with white & gray hair. Lars who works at the gas station refuses to let me get service at the gas station when he's working. I tried to buy some bags of ice during the afternoon and he yelled at me in front of everyone there. Between the two of them I believe they have targeted me and I'm going to be getting a hold of a lawyer. My mom used the program where you order the groceries and they put them in your car. Upon arrival to our house, the raw chicken wasn't bagged, and there was raw chicken juice all over her car. There were some sort of greens, not sure which, and those were free-floating, and unbagged. We did the buy two on sale thing for some blackberries. Both containers were placed sideways. One of the containers had about half of them moldy. The raw chicken was put ON TOP of our bread and the bread was flat, and some of the chicken juice was inside the bread bag and we had to throw it out. Overall impression is awful, I would give it a 0 star if I could. Do not recommend. read more

I had a TERRIBLE experience with a customer service desk employee a few days ago here.. I have shopped at this Fred Meyer for years. The staff at checkout is always wonderful..the click list staff are amazing! I was extremely upset after I was treated terribly at the customer service desk so I called to speak with a manager about the situation. Joey (the assistant manager) listened intently to what I was saying over the phone and was very understanding and apologized for what had happened. I was already having a horrible week and the way I was treated really effected me negatively. It just proves that you never know what people are going through, so treat them with kindness. Treat them how you want to be treated. So I was very upset but after talking with Joey he went above and beyond to remedy the situation and it was great to feel valued after a stressful experience. He had Debi at the service desk help me the next day and she was just great. She got a brief overview of the situation and provided perfect customer service. Fred Meyers is great..the people that work here are great. Understand that there are always going to be rotten apples no matter where you go. The difference here is that management actually cares, makes it right for the customer, and takes appropriate action to prevent further negative experiences from happening. Joey is a fantastic manager, and the majority of staff here is excellent. read more

Writing a review about Fred Meyer is like writing a review about the ground. It's there- you use it, you don't really notice or pick at it's flaws unless they become really apparent. We've been coming to this location for about a year, after relocating up the street. During this time, the Safeway across Beavercreek has been under construction, and (possibly) therefore, the Safeway in Gladstone is jam-packed tighter than canned sardines every time we visit. This store is well laid out, easy to get around, and pretty easy to find things. Employees are helpful. We do all of our grocery shopping here, and they have a great selection of beer, bread, cheese, and pasta, which seems to be about 97% of my diet as of late... The other essentials are here, too. This Fred Meyer seems to be the go-to place for shopping if you don't feel like driving all over the place for a Halloween tablecloth, or something else that is required for a funeral. read more

I have been shopping at Fred Meyer since they opened. Currently the shelves are bare for many of the things that I want to purchase. Using the Click List I find that many of the items I want you can only ship or pick up inside the store they're no longer offered on Click List. Today between aisle 23 and 25 a large rat ran from one aisle to the other right in front of me and when I was able to find an employee and let them know she said they were very aware and that the exterminator is been coming out on a regular basis, Gross! I wrote a long note the day this happened, but Yelp only allows 500 words so I'll summarize: I was accused of shoplifting in September. Let me be clear: this is something I would never do intentionally. Most of my family has worked at this freddys location and I've been a frequent shopper since 2008, mostly going for the produce. Safeway's produce sucks and It's very rare that grocery outlet has good greens and avocados. I paid for my food, but I didn't have enough cash for the wash rags I was going to buy. Yes you guys. WASH RAGS - not even towels. I was bleeding internally at the time (I had just gotten out of the hospital two days before this happened). I paid at the self check out for my food- then went to the customer service desk to ask if I could leave my cart while I went to my car to call my relative to see if I could use her card for the purchase. (I had her card on me- but my phone was in the car) After leaning on my cart, in pain, for about 15 minutes I decided to just use the cart as support to my car. My car was parked right next to the side entrance up front by the door so I didn't think it would be a issue. Many, many times I've taken my older relatives shopping here and they ALWAYS forget to pay for items at their feet (in the mobile shopping carts) I ALWAYS have to go back inside and pay for their items AFTER they've come to the car with it- remembering they forgot to pay. I was clearly in pain while waiting at CSD one customer noticed but didn't say anything . As soon as I walked out the door - in front of my car - a man said "you know how you didn't pay for some of those items" I said "yes" he said "come with me" I explained what happened, but they didn't care- they were just doing their "job" So now I'm banned from going to my favorite store where 3 of my relatives still work. read more

I've always had good experiences with this Fred Meyer. Not the biggest selection but they've always had what I was after and they've been making some changes. However, what is currently prompting me to write this review was a young woman named Amy who has been at the self checkout area the last two times I've been here. The first time was during a rush but Amy didn't seem frustrated or overwhelmed. She smiled at everyone and was friendly and efficient. Tonight the self checkout was rather slow so of course she was just as wonderful as the last time. I have shopped here for years. It is extremely busy inside and the parking lot at high shopping times. Zooish Please get more grocery baggers. This store is NOT senior or disable friendly because you need more baggers and cashiers. You have to bag your own. I was having health issues and no baggers.
