I have been a loyal customer of Shoppers Drug Mart for close to 50 years and have never complained…read moreabout your service or practices, which are generally very good. On Jan 14, 2026 I had an extremely unpleasant experience the CF Richmond Centre store in BC. I bought 2 Oral B io series toothbrushes that were on sale, paid by debit card but almost immediately, realized that I should have paid for the toothbrushes by credit card. So I went to the back of the line and when I came up to the cashier, I asked that the purchase of the 2 toothbrushes be reversed so that I could pay for them by credit card. When I explained that I had made a mistake and wanted to pay by credit card instead of debit, the cashier first told me that I would lose all Optimum points associated with the initial purchase even if I were to buy back the same items immediately. She strongly discouraged me from changing mode of payment. She highlighted the points on the receipt to emphasize that those points were a "one time only" reward and would all be lost even if I were to buy the same items again. Then when she rung up the items for a second time, she stamped "Final Sale" on the receipt. I'm at a loss to understand her actions: Why would the same items paid for by credit suddenly become a final sale. I find it to be incredibly sharp practice for your cashier to take unfair advantage of a customer's mistake particularly when the mistake was discovered almost immediately. All these transactions occurred in under 6 minutes.

I had a chronic problem right before I was scheduled to leave before I could get my prescription filled. I had to be on the plane or my flight. I arrived late afternoon and found out that the pharmacies if you have a chronic condition and you pass the interview by from the pharmacist, they will issue a prescription and fill it. The pharmacist I spoke with was intelligent articulate and interviewed me. I satisfied the guidelines for this service. She issued me the much needed drugs and gave me some advice. It was a wonderful experience. It solved my problem in two days and I enjoyed my trip. I also did some last-minute shopping in the store and it was a great experience.

I usually don't go to Chinese Pharmacy coz I doubt about their professionalism…read more I can proof it at Ackroyd Pharmacy here. When I walked in, there were few customers at the counter and they're all speaking Mandarin loudly. I could hear what they said and I found it's lack of privacy!! Unfortunately, I couldn't speak fluent mandarin and have to speak in English. The lady didn't ask me to wait and get somebody to help me, she just turned around to ask the other staff can you talk to her!! Such service and lack of privacy pharmacy! No comment! If you don't think this is an issue, pls feel free to go there coz they offer coupon (8-10% off) when you purchase prescription. The coupon can be used for any supplement purchase or over counter prescription purchase and some conditions apply.

All of them paled when compare to the service rendered by Ackroyd Pharmacy. Ackroyd simply is the best of them all. They take time to explain the dosage and possible side effects of the prescription and is extremely patient in listening to your questions and give you the answer that you are looking for. They are very professional and will go out of the way to solve your problems and concerns. One time, I was going out of town and ran out on my regular prescription. I was in a bind as I could not find the time to visit my GP. They took the initiative to contact the doctor and had my prescription filled in time before my trip. All it take was one phone call for me to the pharmacy. In a word, they are just very helpful. Jessica is the pharmacist that helps me most of the time. Her attitude and professionalism is the best I've ever come across, bar none. Having said that , there are times that I had been served by others and I must say they are just as courteous and helpful. Finally, I should mention that the prescription fee that they charge are no more than that of Costco's and you get a free daily newspaper. I highly recommend this Pharmacy to anyone that appreciate top-notched professional service.

She looked at us oddly and we told her that the machine was frozen. She seemed not to understand what we said. She asked us if we used a physical card for LD Extra, and she said it was good that we did not use a physical card for LD Extra because some people do that. We were surprised to hear that because there is not a points card for LD; the staff and the machines usually ask for our phone number. She was confusing and did not know about the rewards program. If she was helpful, she could have checked that machine before she questioned us. This is not the first time that the self check-out machines wasted our time; the self check-out machines at this LD always had problems (e.g. it showed 'Call for attendant' when we did not press the button; it did not go to the next screen after we pressed a button on the screen (it just kept spinning)) and there is always no staff available at the self check-out area for assistance.

The store is pretty clean and organized, and there's decent parking in the plaza. But... is it just me or does it always feel like the staff are "lowkey" following me around the store? It's not super obvious, but enough to make me feel a bit watched while I'm browsing. I get that security is important, but it can make the shopping experience feel a little uncomfortable. Other than that, service at the checkout is usually quick, and I've had a few helpful interactions at the electronics and photo counters in the past. Still debating if I'll keep shopping here regularly or just order online when I can.

Many people I know love London Drugs (the chain, in general), and they all adore this particular…read morestore: it's large, clean, well-organized, well-stocked, well-lit and easy to navigate. So if you like LD stores in general, no doubt you will really really like this specific store. And I admit, there are other advantages to this site. This store is located in the Ironwood Plaza, which is a swell outdoor mall, with some really cool shops surrounding it. You could do all your errands here without leaving the mall (there's a huge Save-on Foods grocery store, A phenomenal BC Liquor store, a huge Canadian Tire across the lot, and lots of cute restaurants, and some medical clinics, etc.). The parking lot is huge, too, and free, so there's never a problem driving here. For me, though, I'm not a fan of the London Drug chain. I find their prices higher than any other store selling the same merchandise (and that says a lot, as Vancouver prices are crazy high, compared to every other city I've lived in). And to me, price points rank up there in how I rate stores. And in this particular store, the other day when my kid ad I visited, we walked up and down the aisles looking for some specific items, and there were no employees on the floor to ask for help (if there were, they were in hiding). We went to the cashiers to ask for help and the few that were there were busy ringing up customers and they didn't look up at us as we stood by for a few minutes. It was not good. After spending about ten minutes in the store wandering, we left without buying what we came in to get. Another disadvantage lies in the logistics of leaving this parking lot. There are no traffic lights if you're exiting on Road 5 (by the Starbucks), or at some other exit points. And if you're clueless like I was when I first visited this mall, on a weekday at 3pm, know that you will NEVER ever leave this lot and you will grow old and die in your car waiting to get out of the Ironwood lot. No exaggeration. (Note: only visit on a weekend or super early or super late on a weekday. Or else!). On a side note, I WILL add that I DO like LD for photo development. I always order my prints online and pick them up in their photo departments. They are great for that!
