On Jan 14, 2026 I had an extremely unpleasant experience the CF Richmond Centre store in BC. I bought 2 Oral B io series toothbrushes that were on sale, paid by debit card but almost immediately, realized that I should have paid for the toothbrushes by credit card. So I went to the back of the line and when I came up to the cashier, I asked that the purchase of the 2 toothbrushes be reversed so that I could pay for them by credit card. When I explained that I had made a mistake and wanted to pay by credit card instead of debit, the cashier first told me that I would lose all Optimum points associated with the initial purchase even if I were to buy back the same items immediately. She strongly discouraged me from changing mode of payment. She highlighted the points on the receipt to emphasize that those points were a "one time only" reward and would all be lost even if I were to buy the same items again. Then when she rung up the items for a second time, she stamped "Final Sale" on the receipt. I'm at a loss to understand her actions: Why would the same items paid for by credit suddenly become a final sale. I find it to be incredibly sharp practice for your cashier to take unfair advantage of a customer's mistake particularly when the mistake was discovered almost immediately. All these transactions occurred in under 6 minutes.

I arrived late afternoon and found out that the pharmacies if you have a chronic condition and you pass the interview by from the pharmacist, they will issue a prescription and fill it. The pharmacist I spoke with was intelligent articulate and interviewed me. I satisfied the guidelines for this service. She issued me the much needed drugs and gave me some advice. It was a wonderful experience. It solved my problem in two days and I enjoyed my trip. I also did some last-minute shopping in the store and it was a great experience.

All of them paled when compare to the service rendered by Ackroyd Pharmacy. Ackroyd simply is the best of them all. They take time to explain the dosage and possible side effects of the prescription and is extremely patient in listening to your questions and give you the answer that you are looking for. They are very professional and will go out of the way to solve your problems and concerns. One time, I was going out of town and ran out on my regular prescription. I was in a bind as I could not find the time to visit my GP. They took the initiative to contact the doctor and had my prescription filled in time before my trip. All it take was one phone call for me to the pharmacy. In a word, they are just very helpful. Jessica is the pharmacist that helps me most of the time. Her attitude and professionalism is the best I've ever come across, bar none. Having said that , there are times that I had been served by others and I must say they are just as courteous and helpful. Finally, I should mention that the prescription fee that they charge are no more than that of Costco's and you get a free daily newspaper. After…read morewalking around the very back aisles nearest to the pharmacy, I went over and waited by the Persciption drop off area. A pharmacist "Shamin" came over to ask if I needed anything. I asked about wrist braces and the lovely pharmacist walked us over to the aisle in a different area (a section I completely missed). We discussed a few things then she recommended a ambidextrous wrist brace which I then was offered to try on. Small/Medium is where its at. Grabbed a second and followed Shamin, at her suggestion, back to the cash register. She offered to write up a special receipt in which to submit to insurance and then completed the transaction with me (thank you direct debit!). Somehow each was $10 off (thank you small mercies). Its amaze-balls staff like this that ALL places need.

I thought I was going to die without any medication. =P Then I finally thought of this little pharmacy at Parker Place, so, I googled their phone number with my phone and I called them. It's not super obvious, but enough to make me feel a bit watched while I'm browsing. I get that security is important, but it can make the shopping experience feel a little uncomfortable. Other than that, service at the checkout is usually quick, and I've had a few helpful interactions at the electronics and photo counters in the past. It cost me less to fly overseas directly to Mark's Marine to refill my order before I ran out, so I did. I couldn't have done it without the amazing pharmacy staff. I reached out to this pharmacy team to make an emergency order. Madison and Natalie are lovely to speak with and did a great job at keeping the pharmacy up to date on my order. Jay, Henry, and Jordan are wonderful and got contact with my doctor while keeping me in the loop. The pharmacy team took the time to call my doctor and get an updated prescription. In a critical situation, Henry and Jordan even stayed late on a Friday, to make sure my medication would be ready by the next day. Saul is incredible! He came in on a Saturday (His day off) to make sure I received my prescription on time. He is very personable, funny, and you can tell cares very much about his patients.
