Crazy how many times i have applied to safeway especially this specific location. More than I should have tbh. Not once I ever atleast came close to anyone even notifying me via email or when I call\in person ask that they dont want me ,srry ect ect. Yet so soo many ppl that I know for a fact shouldnt have been hired . They have also gone on to literally do exactly what they have already proved they would do legal wise . Ppl that are in no way reliable nor have the experience. My fav ones are the ones who have actually gotten caught stealing before .. multiple times actually some having been arrested over. But still . Hired . Just disappointing I guess . Even more so cause I was basically born and raised within grocery store .. . Pf and dunkirk actually. Its just a g.store I know .. but I care. I wish I was just told why tho.. read more

if you want molded food, this is the place to be!!! outrageous and for the manager to do nothing about it when it was brought to his attention, shows a lot!!! read more

Safeway - Molded lemons - Grocery Near Me - Prince Frederick, Maryland

I have to say going to this store is always a pleasure, from the cashiers to the managers, and everyone else. Everyone is so nice and will help me when I need help finding some food. It's hard to put the spotlight on just on person, but each time I go there one person stands out. Mr. Conner is always helping with a smile on his face. I love the good vibes he brings to the store and always makes the time shopping there easy. Thank you, Conner! read more

Really nice supermarket, especially considering that Prince Frederick is pretty far from being any sort of metropolis. It's full size with all the usual supermarket departments - produce, pharmacy, meat, frozen, etc. Prices seemed a little high, but that might be because there really isn't much for low cost competition in the area. The nearest Wal-Mart isn't a Supercenter. The only thing missing was beer and wine, but I understand that's not a Safeway thing. It's a Maryland thing. No worries, there is a liquor store next door. Consider joining their customer program for better pricing. read more

Vicki is a very helpful and efficient cashier. I appreciate her providing details on when my gas rewards will expire, to use them before x date and explaining that I dont have to redeem all at once at the pump. I wouldn't have had any clue. read more

We did not have a good experience in this store. First, we ordered our chicken ahead of time and picked up our food, it took longer than expected but that was fine. Since we got a lot of chicken it was supposed to be apart of a combo deal with the potato salad and when we went to check out the deal wouldn't come up in the computer; after waiting for 5 minutes for the manager to come and help us ring it up right we gave up and ended up paying full price for all of the chicken and the sides. Then, once we got home, we realized that one of the bread we had bought had mold and had expired at-least a week ago. This store does not check their expiration dates and allows expired food to continue to be sold. When we tried calling the manager about what happened, they put us on hold for over 10 minutes. Not happy with this experience at my local Safeway. read more

I only went her because Giant was on the other side of the road and I was in a hurry Safeway doesn't carry a lot of items that I like that Giant does carry. read more

Love some of the associates at this store!! My cashier, Victoria, is fabulous and very professional. The grey-haired chap in the produce section is always friendly and helpful! These two associates keep me returning! read more

Great staff clean store close to my house. I love that you can order hand made sandwiches for breakfast and lunch. They have egg whites if you can't have regular eggs on your sandwich The lady making ours was so nice and the Starbucks store inside the Safeway was great too!! She knew how to make my drink perfect and rang up my sandwiches too! I love this quiet area everyone is so nice a great change from city life read more

Was here close to closing looking for one more item with my brother before checking out. We heard the overhead announcement stating the store was closing soon so we were dashing around looking for our last item so we could check out. A manager by the name of Bill, kept yelling down the aisle at my brother. Eventually my brother figured out he was trying to speak to him and asked what it was he was saying. Bill then asked if he heard the overhead announcement. My brother replied with "yes, just grabbing one more item then checking out." Bill then replied and said "Yeah, so don't be that asshole that keeps the store from closing". At this point I'm on another aisle hurrying to find our last item and hear Bill raising his voice. My brother asked him to not speak to him that way and Bill said "what way?" My brother then asked if he had a bad day because this was uncalled for. After Bill continued to harass my brother to hurry up, we gave Bill our cart FULL of groceries and told him our business would be taken elsewhere due to his actions. It's a shame considering we have been shopping there for 16 years. If you liked to be harassed and called an asshole at 12:01am when the store closes at 12:00am then Bill is your man and Safeway is your place! read more

Opted for drive up and go to save time, I arrived and checked in around 5:50pm. It wasn't until 6:20 that someone came out and loaded up my groceries, half of which ended up being out of stock. He then tells me their card machine is down and I will need to go inside to pay. I stood at the customer service desk until 6:45. Totally ridiculous. read more

Not my favorite store. Just seems like it needs a redo, especially now that Giant has done one. Moving the pharmacy up front would be helpful. Going through the produce area it is always a jam because of the cartons of items being brought out from the back. I have never been in there when it isn't a mess trying to get to the bacon area, and everything around that back corner because of the backup of items to be put on shelves. Just has an old feel to the entire store. read more

When ever you need help because they over charge due to price changes or mixing of products. Be ready to wait a long time to get service. Be ready to not be greeted at the registers if you are of color. Some of the new cashiers are great when you walk up but the ones who have been here for a while will talk to their team mates before they talk to you. And they will give you a nasty look if you interrupt their conversation. And if they walk away they do not let you know that you will have to wait or that they will be a minute. Customers service is super great read more

We ordered 100 pieces of fried chicken for my grandmothers repast yesterday. The staff was super friendly and nice, and the order was ready on time; however, the chicken was not good. Everyone commented on the odd taste, and no one finished their piece of chicken. We are unsure of what, but there was a chemical smell and taste in the chicken. As a former restaurant cook, the taste was as if the fryer or something were cleaned but not thoroughly, and then the chicken was cooked in that chemical and oil mix. Or it was bad chicken. Rubbery and had that off-putting taste. We threw a lot of it away. Asking the team there to be more cognizant of their routines and practices. read more

Terrible donuts - 9am and they taste a day or two old. This is also one of those annoying grocery store where they'll only give to a decent price if you have their card to scan. They didn't have a guest card either. read more

Ok store as far as safeways go. But their salad bar always looks rough. Wilted lettuce dried crusty potato salad. Ick! Oh and dirty bath rooms read more

Emma was nice and helpful when I pick up the online order. She was professional at her job. She have smile under her mask

Pretty good selection and very clean grocery store. Only issue was a manager having a contentious discussion with the cashier serving me about her hours/schedule. Come on, take that to a private area. Customers don't want to hear that stuff nor do we want to be delayed due to personnel issues. read more

I thought the store was dirty. The produce looked horrible and I pick up a few things I had to have for the night and decided to go to Giant the following day. read more

They should have never gotten rid of self checkout. The lines are always long. I went in a Sunday and they only had one express checkout and one regular checkout open. They are a bit pricier than other grocery stores. The staff has always been nice though. They definitely need more people at the checkout! read more

Been shopping here for several years. I have had a few issues with coupon policy and been charged the wrong price and gone back for a refund. They have improved in the last couple of years. Most cashiers are coupon friendly but some are not..... I try to avoid it on the weekend because lines are long and aisles are crowded. Getting rid of self check out has made the lines even longer. read more

This store has more Organics then most in the area but that's the only good thing about it. The restrooms are always filthy. They have very poor customer service and they are more expensive then other stores like Trader Joe's. All in all the Giant across the in Prince Frederick has much better customer service and the place is cleaner. read more

A pretty average Safeway. No problem with cleanliness or freshness of vegs or meat but just the usual choices. A small fish department but could better especially when consider this store is more or less on the Bay. How about local fish? This is a problem with most Calvert County grocery stores - you'd think they were located in Kansas. Some evidence of management laxness - no small carts available the day I went, long lines at the checkout counters, no self-service, bread displays were dirty and out of bags. read more

Always long lines..isles are tight and it's so dark! And worst of all it's over priced!!

This place is setting new records for poor service. Extra long check out lines add 20 to 30 minutes to your check out time. Bait and switch on sale items. Until they figure out how to up more then two check out lines and can improve service i'm going to shop else where. 3 other stores with in a 1 minute drive where they can open more then one check out. read more
