I consistently have bad service here. The food is fine and cheaper than qfc but I always have some kind of issue with the service here. This store also brings in more interesting people that tend to be grouchy and rude! However the gas is the cheapest place to get gas in north bend and I always try to fill up at Safeway. read more

Sad to say, but last Wednesday's visit to this store will most likely be my last. The last 6-7 times I've visited this store, they have been woefully understaffed with cashiers. The lines have been very, very long, and there is no self check-out option. I've experienced very long lines during the weekday evenings, as well as weekend evenings. This has been over a couple month stretch, so it's not a one-time thing. There didn't seem to be any recognition by the staff as to how backed-up it was, and no apologies for the wait times. They know there are limited options in North Bend, so I don't think they are too concerned. read more

Selection for gluten free is decent, which is why they get two stars. Be prepared to spend most of your time waiting in line. It's always that way, no matter the time!! Boo!! read more

Just your average Safeway store. Layout is similar to the one right near my house, which was nice. Sometimes it's set up completely differently and I'm lost. We stopped by on the way to the mountains and got everything we needed. Nothing super spectacular or bad. No long lines when we came (as other people mentioned, but sometimes there are long lines when it's busy...? Um.). read more

Just bought a bag of potatoes...all rotten! Same as always. Prices are up; quality is in the trash.food prices are 40% higher. Just examine signature brand hash brown potatoes, $1.49 last year $2.79 this year, 87% increase. POS crap hole. read more

The lines here are absolutely horrible. I know a lot of people who have complained and nothing has been done. New management is probably the best solution as there doesn't seem to be a care about customer service. I shop a lot more at QFC in town now. read more

I work at a Safeway and I personally enjoy everyone I work with. I've also worked at another Safeway and enjoyed everyone I worked with there as well. When walking into the North Bend Safeway a courtesy clerk immediately greeted us with "please move." And I figured he's having a bad day because the courtesy job is not a fun or easy job, but I continued my escapade to buy a pack of cigarettes. My boyfriend and I walked up to the customer service counter with no employee behind the counter. She realized we were there and starts throwing change around and slamming tills. "It'll be a minute!" She said to us very shortly and I stepped back to the Starbucks waiting area. Until a different customer service employee stepped up to the counter. His name was Nick and he appeared to be about 16-17 with black hair and glasses. Nick refused service to my 20 year old, bearded boyfriend because I was not carrying my ID on me even though my boyfriend was the one at the counter purchasing the cigarettes (I am also 20 and slightly older and covered in tattoos). DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE UNLESS YOU WANT NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AND BAD ATTITUDES. read more

The Safeway in North Bend WA did an amazing job on our moms special 80th birthday celebration! We ordered cup cakes from the bakery and fruit and vegi platters, and croissant sandwiches Ect from the deli. From the manager to the employees that took the orders and the ones who prepared them it was a great experience! Thank you very much! read more

I have been coming to your store for some time now, and not impressed. Every time I go to the vegetable area, the plastic bag dispensers are always empty. Several times I have selected a product on sale, but when you get to the register it is a different price. It's embarrassing when you have to point it out and hold up the line. And speaking of lines, it sometimes takes forever to get through the line. Some of the cashiers seem to want to have a full on conversation with people instead of working and talking at the same time. Slows down the lines. Well, today there was only one check out open with 7 people waiting in line. So..., we decided to try the self checkout, although I'm not a fan. It took 3 times as long to even get through that. First the machine didn't want to take my number, then it started blinking becau joyse the meat package had a 30% sticker, then started blinking again because I had beer. It took the cashier a while to get to me because he had to deal with all the other machines blinking. I am usually in the store every night after work and when there are actually carts available in the store there usually isn't any sanitary wipes for the carts. This is the first time I have complained in writing about anything, but it is getting very frustrating to do my shopping every evening with this store. read more

Everytime I get fruit from this Safeway it is bruised on the inside. The produce sucks. The cashiers are the worst. There is maybe two in the entire store with half a brain. I can't stand this store . I only go here to buy certain items on sale. I always end up regretting it due to the check out process or the fact that the particular item I came for was out of stock. read more

I love the deals they have on their meat. I picked up some chicken breast very good was blown away by the price. everyones there seems to be quite friendly and helpful there were a few grumpy checkers but they just probably had a long day. I will continue to buy my meat from Safeway read more

This place used to be great, but a new manager took over in the last year and the place has gone to hell! All the old employees that I have known for years are gone, never more than 2 check stands open and lines 5-7 people deep! OFC gets most of my money now. read more

Mostly I like this Safeway and the people are very nice and helpful, but today I had good tasting fried chicken that was like chewing rubber. I recommend you go to QFC for Deli and Produce and Safeway for Dairy and Bakery. read more

I went to safeway on the morning of 4/10 to get some change from their service desk. The lady behind the counter was very rude and said they are not a bank. I know they are not a bank, because banks are closed on sunday. Then she told me I should have done this before hand. We had a very busy weekend and I ended up using most of my predetermined stockpile ahead of time. I go to this safeway almost every day, and this was the final straw. With no self checkout and this kind of rude service coming from the service desk, I will be taking my business to QFC from now on. read more

My family and I spend a lot of money at the North Bend Safeway. We are clean, hard-working, respectable, polite people. Occasionally we'll end up in the express line of an elderly woman, with white hair and glasses. The first couple of times we experienced this woman, we thought she may be having a tough day and we happened upon her coincidentally these times. Today I went through her line and she didn't speak a single, solitary word to me. Not a hello. Not a total. Not a thank you. This woman needs to have a job in a different department of the store where she doesn't deal with the public. We'll be shopping at qfc until this problem is fixed. read more

The lines get backed up because this is a major stop before the pass, so I get it. But I've had so many great experiences here with helpful staff in various departments I had to give a mostly good review. Floral and bakery went above and beyond for me this week for my son's bday party prep. And it's not the first time. Nice, helpful people. read more

We moved to Snoqualmie Valley a few years ago and have done most of our grocery shopping at Safeway. There are many issues we have had with this store with a few of them listed below: 1. The store has terrible inventory control. Whenever items go on sale, they tend to be out of stock. The few times I ask for a rain check (especially for items I buy regularly), I usually get met with a roll of the eyes by the cashier. I'm sure this is exactly how they would want to be treated if the roles were reversed. 2. Safeway for no apparent reason tends to stop stocking particular items. I've talked to the floor manager before, the inventory manager, and even representatives at the corporate office. After confirming that these items are still offered by the manufacturer and getting promises that they would be brought back into the store, the promises were never fulfilled leaving me disappointed. I have had other stores even special order items for me but this Safeway store seems to not care. 3. Often the produce is of terrible quality. Recently we bought a package of grape tomatoes, an item we buy every week. We got home and opened them up and after noticing several white mold spots on them, I brought them back the next day and got 2 replacement packages (a new buy 2 for the price of 1 promotion had started). Turned out that both of those packages also had a few mold spots. The second time I came back, I faced Sandy at the customer service desk. She gave me my money back, but I got no empathy from her. Having been in customer service before, I recognize that good customer service would have realized that coming back twice to the store for the same issue is unacceptable and a simple refund does not entice a customer to come back again. 4. Speaking of Sandy (who really has no business working a customer service desk), she was checking our groceries one evening. We were surprised when one of the salad dressings we had picked up didn't ring up on sale. We're talking about a .69 savings here. After not believing us, she left her stand to go check the price and came back saying it wasn't on sale. Frustrated, my wife disagreed and Sandy left the stand again, this time with my wife, to go check. Meanwhile, there were 3 more customers in line and they started to look frustrated. Sandy came back a minute later and told me that she was right. Turns out that the dressing I got, which regularly went on sale for that price, was placed on the shelf above another sale sign for the a similar product by a different brand. We were humiliated by this lack of service. We often get overcharged for items by Safeway and don't go back for small refunds. Would it have really hurt Safeway to trust us and just pass on the 69 cent savings, after the thousands we spend each year at the store? 5. Not long after the Sandy and salad dressing incident, I wrote a letter to the store manager. I explained my concerns and that after being a loyal Safeway customer for nearly 20 years, all of the incidents over the last few years at his store had me not feeling like a valued customer. After more than a month, I have yet to receive any type of response from the manager. In short, the lack of customer service, the lack of proper inventory control, the poor quality of produce, and poor management has led my wife and I to take our business to QFC across town. We have never been disappointed at QFC as that store has much better customer service, quality of produce and meats, and inventory control. Talking with several neighbors and friends, they have had similar issues with Safeway in North Bend. You would think that long ago the store would have done something to improve...you would think... I would highly recommend local residents to stay away from Safeway and leave that store to the folks passing by on I-90. read more

Best fried chicken anywhere! Beats all the other Safeway's from Everett, Bothell, Woodinville & Redmond & all the other stores and KFC's and Azell's. Don't know why but it different and good. They said it's the old Albertson's recipe but the other Albertson's were never this good. read more
