Traveling through the area, we opted to shop here for groceries for the RV. The store is clean and very well stocked. What made this trip delightful was meeting Cobi - she was friendly,helpful and made our day! Not only did she direct us to find our items, she popped into the busy deli and helped us with our chicken to go order. Thanks! The pharmacy in this store is so slow. The people working in the back making your prescriptions is not the problem. The two older gray/white haired ladies that you talk to, to get your prescriptions are the problems. One is very quiet and slow and the other is just a jabber jaws. It takes forever to get your prescriptions because the one is talking to everyone and gossiping, while the other looks confused and is slow. They don't usually work together, they are normally alone. The line has to be very long it seems before they open the second window. We are taking our pharmaceutical needs to Seebers. The store itself is great. read more

Yep, it's a Safeway! If you've been to one, you've been to most. It's like Fred Meyer with a worse selection but similar prices. Decent selection of beer here, for a small town. There's also a Starbucks inside, y'know, like most Safeways. read more

THE PHARMACY: I wouldn't even give the pharmacy one star. They were the most inconsiderate people I have ever met. I drove an hour to pick up a prescription that was supposed to be ready and it wasn't. I did everything and they told me there was nothing they could do and that I would have to wait an hour and a half. In addition, they told me to "sign up for the phone alerts because it could be faster.." they didn't even text me when it was ready or anything. I feel genuinely sorry if this is your main pharmacy. read more

While this store has much of what I need and has nice employees AND a Starbucks!! I will no longer be shopping at Safeway based upon my experience here. This morning it was quite cold out.. about 14 degrees. It was equally as cold in the store and employees were having to wear coats, hats and scarfs to be able to function. Initially I thought this was a fluke incident.. but this afternoon I was shopping in a clothing store 40 miles away, got into a casual conversation with the cashier and discovered that she had worked at this particular Safeway for two years and it has always been that way in cold weather. I'm sorry, if you don't care any more about your employees than this... or my comfort while shopping, you will receive no more of my grocery or gasoline monies. read more

Worst managed safeway ever. Consistently lines down the isles, people waiting to check out. Never more than two stands open. No one is friendly, and often act like your an inconvenience shopping in their store. Save some frustration and headache and shop somewhere else. I'm mad at myself every time I come here. No one seems to be able to move very fast here. read more

The positives: They have a great selection of Organic goods, which is impressive for such a small area. Always well stocked and everyone is super friendly. The cons: Every time I have bought produce here, I have had to throw away at minimum half of it. And this is on several different occasions. Carrots went completely limp within a day. Blueberries and strawberries mold within a day or two. I have also been overcharged on several occasions where the price on the display is considerably lower than what I was charged on the receipt - even with entering my Safeway number. Which I didn't realize till I got home. Since it is quite the drive back to the store to dispute $4, it is not worth the gas money. read more

Faith is really nice to the other employees and but friendly at all with the customers. Never a Hi how are you? Or a Thank you! She also doesn't listen to the orders you give her. I have to correct her and usually end up disappointed with the finished product. Make some effort! Know how many scoops of green tea go in a latte and that you need to use more milk if someone asks for no foam because we don't like to pay $4-5 bucks for a 2/3 full drink because you didn't pour enough. A good Barista will say nothing and make more to top. Today the barista was Grace and she is not only very pleasant but made my drink correctly without writing anything down! I only give this store one star to give a review. Recently purchased a prime rib here . After great preparation and a long cook we ended up with a very expensive piece of dog food. Even though it was well seasoned and cooked right this thing was tough and tasteless. Cannot wait for Super One to get built as I will never have to put up with this horrible store. read more

Terrible produce, way too expensive and almost everything is way over ripe...sometimes to the point of rotten. Always check your receipts, I'm constantly overcharged and have to take my receipt back to customer service for a refund. If I could give zero Stars I would. I was literally chased by one of the Mask enforcers at the store she yelled at me from 10-15 feet away "Do you have medical problem" after telling her that in the store lobby. Interesting that their employee Kelly doesn't know how to social distance from the male customers. Right after that happened she walks over stands almost shoulder-to-shoulder with my spouse (social distancing?) and in her little voice "how you doing" calling my husband by name. He wasn't wearing a mask! She and The Mask Enforcer said nothing to him about him not wearing a mask and there was a couple of other male customers standing at the registers no mask; they said not one word. This is THE SLOWEST Safeway I've ever been in. Especially the deli stand there in a line for 10 minutes with only one employee helping everyone while there's 3 people in the back ignoring everyone. It has always been bad at this store, but with this virus it is getting even worse, the quality of produce and meat is like leftovers. It's like most stores they give you a few teaser items to get you in but a majority of their items are overpriced and a number of times they don't honor coupons or even their own advertised price. The only reason they got one Star is that I like the new organic section, however you had better be well off to afford the produce. I dont like their remodel and you can't find half the things that you want neither can the employees and overall I used to do a lot of shopping here over 17 years but I do less and less here each time I go in and instead go to Winco or Costco. Every year for the past 6 years I keep track of my purchases and this past year like others the overcharges and not honoring coupons rang up to $947.00 more than I should have been charged. Yes they will make it right but what about every one else that Shops there that doesn't check their receipts. Now the last 7 times I have been there no toilet paper, no cleaning products and I'm supposed to be a HAPPY customer......I dont think so! read more

This Safeway has everything. Gas, pharmacy, great bakery ;) , deli, Starbucks, great meat department ect. Every Safeway has most of the things I listed but this is pretty much the "go to" place when you're in Newport though, to be fair, there are other good stores here. read more
