Tamales!

One of my favorite grocery stores in the area. The organic produce is comparable to other stores and the quality is very good. Their frozen section has a little bit of everything and a few surprises. I'm also quite impressed with their vegan meat selection. They are the only ones who carry Field Roast breakfast sausages and they're delicious. They also have a good selection of nondairy cheeses; Miyokos, Daiya, Follow Your Heart and Treeline...yum! This place has great "mini" bulk spices, teas, flour, seeds and herbs for decent prices. They also have a huge supplement section if that's your thing. It may be small, but that is one of the reasons why I enjoy shopping here, compared to a huge store.

A new natural market in town. Crossing my fingers they are reasonable so I do not have to drive to Trader Joe's an hour away.

Neat co-op store with natural foods and naturopathic supplements. I enjoyed browsing around inside.

My wife and I always make a point of stopping at this WinCo when we're visiting Coeur d'Alene, and…read morewe're consistently impressed. The produce is fresh, the meat quality is very good, and there's a huge variety of products throughout the store. Compared with what we normally pay back home, the prices here are excellent. The bakery is one of my favorite parts, especially the lemon huckleberry muffins, which are fantastic. The deli is also worth checking out, with good sandwiches and plenty of lunch-sized grab-and-go meals. Employees have generally been friendly and helpful, and I also appreciate that they now accept Apple Pay. There are a few odd gaps in the selection. On one visit, I needed Prilosec, but they only carried the name brand with no generic equivalent, even though generic OTC medications were available in other categories. Not a major issue, but a little surprising.

The main reason I'm not a fan of grocery stores is how poorly laid out they are (intentionally) and how hard it is to find anything (again, intentionally). Well, WinCo falls into that category for me. It might the most poorly laid out grocery store I know. Another thing I don't like is that they only accept cash or debit cards. Annoying you can't pay with a credit card. Normally this would be a 2-3 star review, so why four stars? Well, first it's super inexpensive. They have great prices here. Second, they have a bulk food section which is great.
