We always shop at Safeway & we love the convenience of the Red Box movie rental outside this location, however today was the last time I will shop at this store. California Law states NO SMOKING within 20 feet of a business & this store conveniently provides a nice park bench & ash tray between their door & the Red Box machine, which means you not only walk right through the cigarette smoke when walking to the door via the sidewalk but you are forced to stand next to their smoking area while you & your children are searching for a movie at the Red Box machine. Very disappointed, as I swear by Safeway stores & have family members who are in management positions at different Safeway locations. I guess I'll spend my $700-$800/month grocery bill a block away at the competitors. read more

Yes, the store is great, super clean, the deals are nice, the deli and bakery are yummy, the flowers are gorgeous, the meat and produce are top notch, but it is the people that keeps our family loyal to Safeway in Lincoln. Customer service here is terrible! 3years ago I had a terrible experience with a birthday cake order that had me in tears. So after my 2year boycott of Lincoln's Safeway I have been occasionally shopping there again. Today the bakery was "out of cookies" (the free ones they give kids). Slowest deli there is. Stand around waiting and the staff do not look for customers waiting at the deli to order a sandwich. Staff is rude when they finally do get around to taking your order. If I could have done negative stars, this would have been more reflective of this pharmacy's total lack of customer service and care. My husband was on hospice care. They called in on a Friday morning to request morphine for cancer pain. My husband died late that night in discomfort in large part b/c Safeway somehow had put the order in wrong causing delays. Meanwhile, I'm distracted trying to comfort my husband and the day has gone by and then realizing pharmacy is closed. They admitted this ordering mistake and even have visibility this was a hospice patient. Why couldn't Safeway have called/text (I am on the text notification alerts) and explained so I could have had this filled by another pharmacy? Seriously, you had to have this business? Ordered two 1/4 sheet cakes for a Saturday pick up. One white with custard, the other chocolate with raspberry. The custard filling was poorly spread, the edges were completely dry, they didn't put the additional fruit in that I asked for and the fruit that was there was difficult to find. The frosting should have been thicker. The chocolate cake was ok, the frosting was thicker but the filling was thin. The decorations to both were pretty much a miss. They ignored my color requests, but at least they spelled the word right. All in all, I will never order cakes from here again. read more

I was the second perason in line at the pharmacy. There were three men one in white coat and two techs. All three were at computers. We stood there for 5 minutes before anyone finally came to wait on the customer. Usually there are 2 women but 3 men and we have to wait? I was tired and hungry and the wait seemed longer. Great customer service!!! Went into the deli section for a last minute sandwich tray. Asked the young Lady behind the counter if I could get a tray made in 20 minutes (the large tray)? She doubled checked with her superior and said "Yes, give or take". Well I took, and they supplied, got it out to me in 25 minutes which was AWSOME!!! and mind you they were very busy. My friend who is getting married needed flowers for her wedding. It was kind of a last moment thing and so it seemed as if it was going to be stressful. This safeways floral department was so great. We had help from Lainie and she was nothing short of amazing. She helped us pick the cheapest but most beautiful bouquet and center pieces. She didn't pressure my friend in buying anything out of her budget and it made things way less stressful. Great place for food. Service is great, workers there are very friendly and willing to help. I like to go later in the evening when there is less of a crowd. Getting a discount on gas doesn't hurt either. Produce is good, other stores tend to be a bit fresher. Prices are about average compared to others. I choose to shop here because overall I have found it to be a better experience than every other place. read more

The Lincoln, CA Safeway is exceptionally clean and fully stocked. I've found the Deli to have some of the largest choices of salads and other items and their workers are friendly. Ditto with the grocery clerks. Also with the inside Starbucks - the employees there starts my mornings off perfectly with smiles and most of the time even remembers what I order. This store was very disappointing but only for one reason. The management was horrible. Dare i say oblivious to customer needs. Also the customer service desk is constantly empty. How are customers supposed to seek service or ask questions if a line 5 people long has built up at the customer service desk with nobody around. Come on now management. Eric at the Lincoln Safeway pharmacy is awesome! I visited the Lincoln Safeway pharmacy to pick up a prescription for an H pylori infection. I was there on a Thursday, and the medication had to be ordered so I assumed it wouldn't be ready until Monday. Eric went out of his way to call other pharmacies and found one in Southern California that had the medication. Eric had them express ship the medication and it was there for me to pickup on Friday the very next day. I have been extremely miserable with this infection, and having the medication on Friday instead of having to wait and be miserable over the weekend was truly amazing. I cannot thank Eric enough for the extra mile he went for me. You made my entire week 100 times better. Thank you again Eric and Lincoln Safeway Pharmacy. Sometimes it feels like the service here, in any department, is hit or miss. I have been going to this Safeway with my family for about three years, starting when we moved to Lincoln. The customer service counter rarely has smiling, friendly workers, but they still professional and get you through without a hassle. The cashiers are a mixed bag of smiling/friendly but are professional as well, except for one whose line we won't go through anymore because he treats my mom and I like we're stupid. I only had one experience with their cake ordering service, which I will never use again, and it was negative. The person who took my order was friendly but he wrote the wrong date down and I did not double check my ticket to confirm. When I came the day after the ticket date was written down to pick up my cake they had it sitting out with the other cakes for sale, altered to sell better for them. I understand that I did not double check my ticket to make sure he wrote it down write, but the cake decorator completely put it on me and did not really care about the situation. The other bakery worker actually seemed to care. The produce section always looks good and the people here always seem happy. The deli section for the hot sandwiches take forever. I kid you not. They are good, but they...take...forever. The workers here are also usually professional but seem really unhappy. Overall, this store is fine to shop at. At the least you should expect professional service, even if they don't come off very friendly. read more

DO NOT BUY FROM SAFEWAY BAKERY. I bought a jumbo cupcake from there to share with my son and when I cut it open it was rock hard and the cake had green mold on it. Which this cupcake was a peanut butter cupcake so there should be no green on it. When I called the bakery to let them know, she told me that they do not make their own cakes, they get them shipped in frozen, and then decorate it themselves. I thought if you buy behind the bakery counter their cakes are freshly made but NOPE made some where else and shipped in. read more

The assistant manager, James tried to blame us when they didn't bag our groceries properly. We got home and didn't have a couple of items and he claimed he pulled a surveillance camera and it was my husband, not his clerk who didn't bag our stuff properly. I'm not sure why he felt it was necessary to lie, we only wanted our groceries that we paid for or a credit for the ones they put back on the shelf that were not there during our second trip. Instead, he tried to school me on a bacteria and started talking over me and repeating himself so I couldn't talk. He never had his manager call me back and he never gave the credit he promised. I will never understand why a store has a manager who treats customers this way. It was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had in my life. A better way to handle this would have been to record the items left out of the cart, then once we called back they would have given us both items instead of one. Instead, James felt it necessary to say he pulled some bogus surveillance camera and my husband didn't bag his stuff right so they put our stuff back because they "never assume the customer will come back" and then tried to school me on some bacteria (talking over me and being very condescending). I'm not sure why James didn't want to give me his manages name and instead yelled at me about a bacteria, but he will never earn my business again. I don't appreciate a store telling me they wasted their time on some video camera instead of resolving the issue. What is the point in looking at some camera to point blame, a better solution is to make the mistake right with the customer and not try to be rude when you have already wasted an hour of their time on a Saturday night. read more

When it comes to good prices on quality fresh fruit, bread, and eggs, I would say Safeway takes the cake. Pun intended because their bakery seriously rocks. They also have very friendly staff. I also think this is the best Safeway around. It's very clean, and very well managed. I also have to say the florist department is also top notch. They totally saved me on my wedding day. They made me an AMAZING wedding bouquet with SAME DAY service. I had some poor luck on my wedding day regarding my bouquet, and they seriously saved the day. read more

I recently ordered flowers for my daughter's mother-in-law's memorial service. I talked by phone to Tiffany Deanda in the florist department. I told her specifically what I wanted: nothing funereal. Instead I wanted an arrangement that included happy, colorful, and fresh flowers. We were celebrating a life, not mourning it. She did an outstanding job. The arrangement was beautiful and it lasted for almost two full weeks. Kudos to Tiffany's customer service and floral acumen. read more

First of all, I would like to call Safeway on understaffing the pharmacy on the weekends. They only have one pharmacist there on Sundays. I believe the previous reviewer must have been frustrated by the lack of service, not due to the fault of the one pharmacist. Second of all I would like to commend all the staff for working hard and helping me many times. They always work with me to get my prescriptions on time or even early. Don, an experienced pharmacist, always makes sure I understand all my dosages and medications. He has always helped me work with my insurance company as to make sure they pay for my medications. I have had some issues with an elderly woman, who finds it appropriate to call instructions to patients from behind the upper work area to the outside area where others are also standing, causing embarrassment for patients waiting for their prescriptions. Overall, Safeway pharmacist employees work very hard to get prescriptions to you in a timely manner. read more
