This safeway sucks if the safeway I worked at pulled some of the stuff this one dose it would have been re staffed from the top down in a heart beat. Sanitizer in a cold box that's a health code violation and it's sitting on top of product. Not to mention the long lines and slow staff all the cashiers act like you came in just to have a conversation with them. And like you have nothing better to do then stand and talk to them while they slowly ring up items. They offer self check out but unless it's items with a bar code on the packaging forget it took over 10 mins just to ring up 2 bags of grapes and had to wait to have them looked at to make sure it was really grapes in the bag by some girl who had 4 other employees standing by her just chatting away this place is way below safeway standards and needs reworked read more

I did most of my wedding shopping at Safeway. ha Lori in the flower department was the best!! She helped me order sunflowers in the quantity I needed a month before my wedding and had everything ready and waiting for me on the day I arrived to pick things up. We got the rest of our flowers there too - they had everything we needed for colorful, homemade bouquets and corsages. And we bought all our water bottles, sodas, s'mores fixin's, snacks, etc. there too. I think we filled up 3 carts. ha Everyone was very helpful and nice and this Safeway had everything we needed. read more

I was waiting in-line for about 15 minutes at 8:00 pm there was only 2 cash registers open with at least 40 people in line. When i finally get to the cash register the cashier said he wasn't taking anymore customers and was going home. I didn't get his name but he was about 5'6 and has blondish brown hair with a big beard. If you are reading this buddy go and fuck your self you lazy fuck. read more

Great location on the Westside, good weekly prices, moderate selection of the Deli for a size of this town. Produce selection is not bad either depending on the season. Customer service is below excellent almost perfect in finding what you want. read more

I have really tried to make this store work for me but after today I'll be going elsewhere. The lines are long, the checkers, especially Celina, are rude, unpleasant, and seem to hate life. The aisles are always crowded with stock. No one is helpful and in general, these people don't like their jobs. Shameful. read more

Karen is an awesome cashier, she is so nice and helpful! :) This Safeway is usually understaffed and the lines are very long and wrap around the store. Most of the employees are not too enthused to be there but I had a great experience with Karen today. read more

Though it seems like you have many options to choose from, you don't. There isn't a large variety of choices when it comes to the food. It seems like they only expect their shoppers to want a variety of alcohol-so many different wines! The other Safeway stores here in Flagstaff have much better selections of food. read more

Wow huge difference between this Safeway and the Safeway on Cedar! Everyone is soon helpful and sincerely friendly! I never have to wait very long to get checked out. Pharmacy staff is awesome very helpful (especially when your feeling crummy)! It's easier for me to get to Cedar but I would rather travel a little farther to shop here! read more

This is the closest grocery store to where I live and because of this sometimes out of convenience I will go there but I always end up regretting it. Compared to FRY'S on the other side of town the selection, customer service, and prices aren't even comparable. The Fry's is so much better! I typically go to sprouts for my weekly shopping and I like it there but when there's certain items I need that sprouts doesn't have I'm going to Fry's from now on. This Safeway didn't even have a Thanksgiving display of any sort for the most common items that most people use during the holidays and when I asked if they had a larger box of stove top stuffing's for Thanksgiving they said no, and gave me attitude while saying "we only carry the small box." I know that there's other brands and I know that by no means is stovetop the best one out there!!! But it is Thanksgiving so how do you not have some of the most basic Items? I'm done with this store other stores offer a cleaner place, larger selection, and an overall more enjoyable shopping experience. read more

Matt, Heather, Paula and all the good folks at the Safeway Pharmacy are amazing! Prompt, caring service, and they go out of their way to help solve prescription problems when they come up, always with a smile. Recently we visited for urgent medication when my wife became ill with the flu during the epidemic. Safeway Pharmacy like many others at the time had run out of Tamiflu (sp?) so Matt called around and found what may have been the last dose in town that day -- at a competing pharmacy. He faxed the Rx to them and we picked it up a few minutes later. This is typical of the exceptional service from the whole staff. Highly recommended! read more

Great customer service from Safeway, as usual. Very friendly at the deli and throughout the store. The customers seemed happy. Nice and organized. Not a bad place to shop. Loved the Starbucks blow outs on the mic(the sales). They don't have those types of deals at private locations. Post office box out front. read more

Besides Safeway Canada (which is owned by a different company... Sobey's), I haven't been in a legitimate Safeway in years. I've been in Von's, Pavillion's, Randall's, Tom Thumb... all owned by Safeway, but without the namesake. I must say, that Von's and the others actually have a better selection, surprisingly. I was hoping to find somethings that possibly we don't have in Las Vegas, but the selection wasn't terrific. I will say the one area that I was most impressed with, was the beer and wine department. They had a large selection of both. They even had quite a few local microbrews for sale. That was pretty remarkable. I will also say they had a beautiful seafood department. I will say that the staff was friendly and helpful as well. I also applaud them for having NO automated cashiers. Those things are terrible and take jobs away from people. Overall, a decent store, but I expected more from a regular Safeway. Sobey's has REALLY improved Safeway Canada, maybe US Safeway could go up there and take some notes. read more

Don't shop here. Safeway is. By far the most expensive store in Flagstaff. Their weekly ads are a joke, advertising sales that are the regular prices at the other major supermarkets in the city. read more

This Safeway is NASTY... Shopping carts are gross, the bathroom isn't fit for animals. The minute you walk in all you can smell is old shrimp. Not sure why their meat prices are so high, Sprouts prices are half of what Safeway charges! The produce is not well cared for and is usually old, the bread department has changed as well, bakery is below standard , just sugar... No taste! Parking lot is dirty and full of trash, the whole place needs to be cleaned from top to bottom!!! I would advice anyone to shop elsewhere AND double check what they charge for meat! read more

Tried buying some alcohol with my temp I.D issued by the DMV was told they would not accept it store policy, it's a valid drivers license if a police officer would accept it you think Safeway would too, talked to a manager but still refused to sell. Went to Basha's instead! Wow much better place to shop in Flagstaff much cheaper and they actually accepted my I.D, get it together Safeway. read more
